An object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing metal oxide particles, in which metal oxide particles with high photocatalytic activity is produced, and a production apparatus therefor. The above object can be achieved by using a method for producing metal oxide particles, which includes subjecting a reaction gas containing metal chloride and an oxidizing gas containing no metal chloride in a reaction tube () to preheating, and then subjecting a combined gas composed of the reaction gas and the oxidizing gas to main heating in a main heating region (A) apart from the downstream side of the junction (), wherein the time until the combined gas from the junction () arrives at the upstream end (A) of the main heating region (A) is adjusted to be less than 25 milliseconds.

Metal oxide particle production method and production device

The Cu- and Ti-containing composition of the present invention contains titanium oxide having a rutile-type titanium oxide content of 15 mol % or more, and at least one divalent copper compound represented by the following formula (1). The Cu- and Ti-containing composition production method of the present invention is characterized by including stirring a mixture containing titanium oxide having a rutile-type titanium oxide content of 15 mol % or more, a divalent copper compound raw material represented by formula (2), water, and an alkaline compound, to thereby cause precipitation. The composition of the present invention exhibits excellent anti-viral property under light and in the dark, and excellent organic compound decomposition activity under light.

Copper-and-titanium-containing composition and production method therefor

There is provided a method and an apparatus for producing metal oxide particles, which produce metal oxide particles having a high photocatalytic activity with high yield. The method for producing metal oxide particles of the invention is characterized by including combining, in a reaction tube, a preheated metal chloride-containing gas with a preheated first gas which does not contain the metal chloride at a first junction to obtain a first combined gas, and combining the first combined gas with a preheated second gas which does not contain the metal chloride, at a second junction which is further downstream of the first junction, to obtain a second combined gas, wherein at least one of the metal chloride-containing gas and the first gas contains oxygen, and wherein the preheated metal chloride-containing gas is further heated in a region between the first junction and the second junction (referred to as first reaction zone), by combining the first gas with the metal chloride-containing gas at the first junction while setting the preheat temperature of the first gas at a temperature equal to or higher than the preheat temperature of the metal chloride-containing gas, and the first combined gas is further heated in a region downstream of the second junction by combining the second gas with the first combined gas at the second junction while setting the preheat temperature of the second gas at a temperature equal to or higher than the temperature of the first combined gas.

A copper compound-carried titanium oxide photocatalyst which is excellent in a photocatalytic activity and a viral inactivation property and a production process for the same can be provided by a copper compound-carried titanium oxide photocatalyst comprising titanium oxide in which a content of rutile type titanium oxide is 50% by mole or more and a monovalent copper compound and a divalent copper compound which are carried on a surface of the titanium oxide described above and a production process for a copper compound-carried titanium oxide photocatalyst, comprising a step of carrying a monovalent copper compound and a divalent copper compound on a surface of titanium oxide in which a content of rutile type titanium oxide is 50% by mole or more.

Titanium oxide photocatalyst having copper compounds supported thereon, and method for producing same

The Cu- and Ti-containing composition of the present invention contains titanium oxide including rutile-crystal-type titanium oxide, and a divalent copper compound, wherein the rutile-crystal-type titanium oxide exhibits the most intense diffraction peak attributed to rutile-type titanium oxide having a full width at half maximum of 0.65&#xb0; or less, in a Cu&#x2014;K&#x3b1; line X-ray diffraction pattern, which is obtained by plotting intensity of diffraction line with respect to diffraction angle 2&#x3b8;. The composition exhibits excellent anti-viral property under light and in the dark, and excellent organic compound degradability under light.

An antimicrobial and antiviral composition, a method of producing the same, and the like are provided, which are capable of exhibiting an excellent antimicrobial and antiviral properties over a long time in the application for various uses. The antimicrobial and antiviral composition contains cuprous oxide particles having a BET specific surface area of 5 to 100 m/g and a saccharide having an aldehyde group, in which the content of the saccharide with an aldehyde group is 0.5 to 10 mass part based on the cuprous oxide particles of 100 mass part. Provided is a method for producing decahedral titanium oxide particles, wherein the decahedral titanium oxide particles are produced by allowing a reaction gas containing titanium tetrachloride to flow into a reaction pipe having a partial double-pipe structure in which a hollow internal cylinder is inserted into an upstream portion of a hollow external cylinder, the method comprising: performing a preheating on the reaction gas containing titanium tetrachloride and a barrier gas not containing metal chlorides in a region on the upstream side of a downstream end of the hollow internal cylinder, while allowing the reaction gas to flow into the hollow internal cylinder and the barrier gas to flow between the hollow internal cylinder and the hollow external cylinder; and performing a main heating on the reaction gas in a downstream region apart from the downstream end of the hollow internal cylinder to thermally decompose the titanium tetrachloride.

The present invention relates to a method for producing a tungsten oxide photocatalyst having titanium oxide and copper ion supported thereon, comprising dissolving urea in a solution in which copper-ion supporting tungsten oxide particles are uniformly dispersed in a titanium oxide sol, thermally decomposing the urea to thereby allow the titanium oxide to precipitate on the surface of copper ion-supporting tungsten oxide and to be supported thereon; and a tungsten oxide photocatalyst modified by both titanium oxide and copper ion obtained by the method, wherein the rate of change of diffuse reflectivity (at wavelength of 700 nm) is less than 3% before and after the irradiation of ultraviolet and the titanium oxide is supported on the tungsten oxide in an island shape of 1 to 100 nm in size. The tungsten oxide photocatalyst having titanium oxide and copper ion supported thereon of the present invention exhibits high catalyst activity under visible light irradiation.

Tungsten oxide photocatalyst and method for producing the same

Titanium oxide particles having a particle having a decahedral box-shape and a particle size in a range of from 1 nm to 100 nm can be selectively and efficiently produced by carrying out a method in which in a case of oxidizing titanium tetrachloride in vapor at high temperatures, it is rapidly heated and cooled, and a method, in which water vapor is used as an oxidizing gas, in combination under certain conditions.
