A sealed plate type metallic heat pipe is disclosed having multiple independent through holes which run through the inside of the heat pipe. All of the through holes are connected in fluid communication at each end. A working fluid is disposed in the through holes and a wire or a wire mesh is disposed in at least one of the through holes.

An overhead installed communication system includes a cabinet body which includes an electronic circuit device and a door which is supported by the cabinet body through a hinge so that the door can be opened and closed. The system is installed overhead and external cables are introduced into the system. A box is provided inside the door, and the box is sealed in a condition where a lid is closed. A connector is provided in the box, electric wires extending from the electronic circuit device are connected to the connector and the external cables are connected to the connector after being introduced into the system.

Overhead installed communication equipment

An outdoor installation type cabinet which accommodates electronic equipment has a number of thin tubes which form an outside air passage and outside air is allowed to flow in the outside air passage by operating an external fan. A heat exchanger which is spaced from each wall of the cabinet is provided at a midway portion of the outside air passage to perform heat exchange between the outside air flowing in the outside air passage and inside air present in the equipment accommodating portion. A circulating fan is installed in the equipment accommodating portion to circulate the inside air. A bimetal is mounted on each side wall of the cabinet to detect a temperature of each side wall and control operations of the external fan, the circulating fan, and an internal fan according to the temperature detected. If the temperature of one side wall is higher than the temperature of the opposite side wall under given temperature conditions, the operation of only the circulating fan on that one side wall is stopped in to thereby suppress the entry of heat of solar radiation through that one side wall into the cabinet body and simultaneously continue to cool the interior of the cabinet.

Outdoor installation type cabinet

A stimulable phosphor sheet, on which a radiation image has been stored, is scanned with stimulating rays at predetermined read-out pitches in a main scanning direction and in a sub-scanning direction. Light emitted by the stimulable phosphor sheet exposed to the stimulating rays is photoelectrically detected, and an image representing the radiation image is thereby obtained. The read-out pitch in the sub-scanning direction is set at a value falling within the range of approximately 20 .mu.m to approximately 30 .mu.m. A quick read-out device is provided which sets the read-out pitch in the main scanning direction at a value, that falls within the range of approximately 20 .mu.m to approximately 30 .mu.m, in accordance with the read-out pitch in the sub-scanning direction. The stimulable phosphor sheet is provided with a transparent protective layer having a thickness of at most 5 .mu.m and a stimulable phosphor layer having a thickness falling within the range of 10 .mu.m to 150 .mu.m and is colored with a coloring agent. The coloring agent is a blue inorganic pigment having an average particle diameter falling within the range of 0.01 .mu.m to 0.9 .mu.m.

A chemiluminescent detecting method includes the steps of uniformly irradiating with radiation a stimulable phosphor sheet formed with a stimulable phosphor layer containing a stimulable phosphor which can store an energy of radiation and be stimulated by visible light to emit the energy of radiation in a form of light, thereby storing energy of radiation uniformly therein, selectively labeling a biopolymer with a labeling substance which can produce chemiluminescent light by contact of itself and a chemiluminescent substance, causing the biopolymer labeled with the labeling substance and the chemiluminescent substance to come into contact with each other, and exposing the stimulable phosphor sheet to chemiluminescent light produced by the contact of the biopolymer labeled with the labeling substance and the chemiluminescent substance. According to this chemiluminescent detecting method, it is possible to effectively produce information relating to a biopolymer such as information relating to a gene with high accuracy by using a stimulable phosphor sheet which can be easily handled and used for both the chemiluminescent detecting method and the autoradiographic detecting method.

Disclosed is an improvement of a method for erasing a radiation image remaining in a stimulable phosphor sheet which has stored a radiation image and has been irradiated with stimulating rays to read the radiation image. The improvement comprises a first erasing step of irradiating the phosphor sheet with a first erasing light containing a light portion of wavelength in ultraviolet region; and a second erasing step of irradiating the phosphor sheet with a second erasing light containing no light portion of wavelength in ultraviolet region, said second erasing light and said first erasing light being employed in a ratio of amount of light in the range of 15/85 to 45/55. Devices for erasing radiation image appropriately employable in the above-mentioned method are also disclosed.

A heat radiating apparatus for a semiconductor device, in which said semiconductor device mounted on a circuit board is cooled by a radiator. The radiator is provided with a stepped portion, and fixing spring hardware having slit grooves is provided with a notch engaging with the stepped portion, so that the end of radiator is brought into contact with the outer surface of the semiconductor device when the stepped portion of the radiator engages with the notch portion of the fixing spring hardware. The stepped portion of the radiator is constituted of two stages, and the notch of the fixing spring hardware is provided with two notch portions engaging with the two-stage stepped portions of the radiator, respectively, so that the larger-diameter portion of the two-stage stepped portions of the radiator engages with the farthermost portion of the notch. Further, a male threaded portion is installed near the end of the radiator so that the male threaded portion of the radiator is threadedly fixed to the farthermost portion of the notch of the fixing spring hardware.

A cabinet for housing electronic equipment includes an integrally formed cooling system which includes an air conduct running longitudianlly between the opposite end walls of the cabinet in an upper portion thereof. A cooling fin assembly is fitted into a lower wall of the air duct so as to have its fins extend upwardly into the air duct and downwardly into the cabinet. Heat transfer takes place as heat from within the cabinet passes to the cooling fins which are then cooled by a pair of fans disposed at opposite ends of the air duct.
