The present invention is an electronic component series, comprising a carrier tape which has a plurality of storage recesses cyclically arranged along the longitudinal direction, electronic components to be stored in the plurality of storage recesses, a cover tape established to cover the plurality of storage recesses of the carrier tape, and a pair of adhesive regions which adhere to the carrier tape and to the cover tape, and extend along the longitudinal direction of the carrier tape so as to enclose the plurality of storage recesses from both sides, wherein the adhesive width of the pair of adhesive regions is cyclically increased in size corresponding to the storage recesses respectively. With this electronic component series, the difference in the peel strength of the cover tape between the first adhesive regions and the second adhesive regions can be sufficiently reduced.

A method of production of a ceramic electronic device such as a multilayer ceramic capacitor, comprising forming a first ceramic coating layer on the surface of a substrate, forming an internal electrode on the surface of the first ceramic coating layer, then forming a second ceramic coating layer on the surface of the first ceramic coating layer so as to cover the internal electrode. In this case, when a mean particle size of ceramic particles of the first ceramic coating layer is &#x3b1;, a thickness of the first ceramic coating layer is T, a mean particle size of ceramic particles of the second ceramic coating layer is &#x3b1;, and a thickness of the second ceramic coating layer is T, the conditions of &#x3b1;, 0.05&#x3c;&#x3b1;&#x2266;0.35 &#x3bc;m, T&#x3c;T, and 0&#x3c;T&#x3c;1.5 &#x3bc;m are satisfied. As a result, it is possible to provide a ceramic electronic device, in particular a multilayer ceramic capacitor, resistant to short-circuit defects, withstand voltage defects, and other structural defects.

A method of production of a ceramic electronic device such as a multilayer ceramic capacitor, comprising forming a first ceramic coating layer on the surface of a substrate, forming an internal electrode on the surface of the first ceramic coating layer, then forming a second ceramic coating layer on the surface of the first ceramic coating layer so as to cover the internal electrode. In this case, when a mean particle size of ceramic particles of the first ceramic coating layer is &agr;1, a thickness of the first ceramic coating layer is T1, a mean particle size of ceramic particles of the second ceramic coating layer is &agr;2, and a thickness of the second ceramic coating layer is T2, the conditions of &agr;1&lE;&agr;2, 0.05<&agr;1&lE;0.35 &mgr;m, T1<T2, and 0<T1<1.5 &mgr;m are satisfied. As a result, it is possible to provide a ceramic electronic device, in particular a multilayer ceramic capacitor, resistant to short-circuit defects, withstand voltage defects, and other structural defects.

An unbaked ceramic layer is formed by applying a ceramic paste on to an organic flexible supporting body. First target marks are formed on the flexible supporting body before or after this process. Then, the positioning for printing electrodes is performed based upon information obtained through image processing of the first target marks, to print the electrodes on the unbaked ceramic layer. With this, a manufacturing method for ceramic electronic components that can minimize positional misalignment in electrode patterns is provided.

According to the present invention, ceramic electronic components are produced by a process which includes the steps of forming an unbaked ceramic layer on a surface of an organic flexible supporting body by applying a ceramic paste, the surface having an area that is given a peeling treatment and areas that are not given the peeling treatment; forming first target marks on the flexible supporting body; and positioning and priming electrodes on the unbaked ceramic layer, based upon information obtained through image processing of the first target marks.
