A recognition dictionary creation device identifies the language of a reading of an inputted text which is a target to be registered and adds a reading with phonemes in the language identified thereby to the target text to be registered, and also converts the reading of the target text to be registered from the phonemes in the language identified thereby to phonemes in a language to be recognized which is handled in voice recognition to create a recognition dictionary in which the converted reading of the target text to be registered is registered.

Voice recognition device

There is provided a spoken dialog system, in which an interactive operation is effectively carried out in a natural manner as to a speech containing words out of a set vocabulary. The spoken dialog system is arranged by comprising: an input storing unit for storing therein an input voice; a dictionary storing unit for classifying a key word to be recognized every item so as to define the classified key word; a dictionary selecting unit for selecting a key word from the dictionary storing unit to thereby output the selected key word as a recognized dictionary; a voice recognizing unit for recognizing the input voice with employment of the recognized dictionary selected from the dictionary selecting unit, and for outputting the extracted key word candidate in combination with the recognition section; a confirmed history storing unit for storing therein a key word candidate confirmed by a user as a determined key word; and a dialog managing unit for judging as to whether or not an input voice other than the determined key word is again recognized and for executing such operations that when the judgment result is the recognition to be once again performed, both an item and the determined key word are transferred as dictionary selection information to the dictionary selecting unit, and a section of an input voice other than the determined key word is updated as a re-recognition section. The updated confirmation section is also instructed to the voice recognizing unit.

Spoken dialog system capable of performing natural interactive access

To reduce the cost of a cassette case by simplifying the design, a cassette case 10 is made up of a case body 26 and a case cover 27 fitted to the upper surface of the case body 26, a ribbon guide 28 is fitted to the outside of the cassette case 10 in such a way that it is free to slide in the longitudinal direction, and at times of printing color changeover the required color band of the multiple color ink ribbon 11 is guided over the end of the printing head by this ribbon guide 28. The ribbon guide 28 is provided with guide portions 36, 37 facing both of the side surfaces of the case cover 27, and the movement of the ribbon guide 28 in the direction of the length of the cassette case 10 is guided by these guide portions 36, 37 sliding along the side surfaces of the case cover 27.

Multiple color ink ribbon cassette

An image forming apparatus which enables resolution modes to be readily changed over has a light-emitting element for irradiating a polygonal mirror with a light beam and a controller for controlling the light-emitting element. The controller is connected to an image clock signal changeover circuit that changes the period of an image clock signal to a period which is n (a positive integer) times the former. The controller is arranged such that the image recording density in the horizontal scanning direction can be changed by the image clock signal changeover circuit and/or the controller judges the pulses of a horizontal synchronizing signal output from a photosensor to be valid at intervals of (n-1) pulses, thereby enabling control of the recording density in the vertical scanning direction. An electrostatic latent image with the desired recording density can be obtained on a photosensitive member by selecting a combination of an image recording density changeover operation for the horizontal scanning direction in which the period of the image clock signal is multiplied by n and an image recording density changeover operation for the vertical scanning direction in which the pulses of the horizontal synchronizing signal are judged to be valid at intervals of (n-1) pulses.

Image forming apparatus with resolution control

A developing device for use in an electrophotographic printer comprises a non-magnetic cylindrical developing sleeve for conveying magnetic toner on its surface in rotating condition, a toner supply unit for supplying the magnetic toner onto the developing sleeve, a fixed magnetic field generating member disposed inside the developing sleeve, and a doctor blade unit disposed in confronting relation to the surface of the developing sleeve for regulating the layer thickness of the magnetic toner. The doctor blade unit includes a pair of magnetic pole plates whose distal ends are spaced a given distance from each other and magnetized as to exhibit opposite magnetic polarities. The fixed magnetic field generating member has a notch formed in a section facing the magnetic pole plates such that its magnetic flux does not act virtually on the magnetic pole plates.

A duplex printing apparatus includes a first conveyance device for supplying recording paper from a first paper supply tray to a printing device; a second conveyance device for supplying the recording paper from a second paper supply tray to the printing device; a third conveyance device for conveying the recording paper printed by the printing device to a paper receiving tray; a fourth conveyance device for conveying the recording paper to the second paper supply tray; a paper switching device disposed at the third conveyance device and operable to selectively send the recording paper printed by the printing device to the second paper receiving tray or to the fourth conveyance device; and a driving mechanism for the second paper supply tray which is operable to move the second paper supply tray to one position for receiving the recording paper from the fourth conveyance device and to another position in which the second paper supply tray supplies the recording paper to the printing device.
