It is intended to provide an organic peracid polymer composition which is stable, odorless and has sufficient water solubility and is suitably used as a bactericide, a bleaching agent and a cleaning agent. By mixing and dissolving an organic acid polymer, hydrogen peroxide and an inorganic acid and maintaining the mixture for a period ranging from 1 hour to 1 month at a temperature ranging from 10 to 80&#xb0; C., the organic peracid polymer-containing composition containing an organic peracid polymer (2 to 50% by weight) and, in some cases, the hydrogen peroxide (2 to 50% by weight) and the inorganic acid (0.1 to 10% by weight) is obtained.

As catalysts for producing aromatic amines by hydrogenating aromatic nitrites, there are disclosed (1) the catalyst comprising a metal catalyst component comprising Ni and/or Co and a specific amount of zirconia as a carrier component, which is prepared by drying, calcining and forming a precipitate produced by adding an aqueous solution containing soluble salts of the metal catalyst component and the carrier component to an aqueous alkali solution; and (2) the catalyst comprising the metal catalyst component and the carrier component, which is prepared by filtering a precipitate produced by adding an aqueous solution containing soluble salts of the metal catalyst component and the carrier component to an aqueous alkali solution; forming the precipitate without drying to obtain a formed product; and subjecting the formed product to drying and then calcining. Method of starting and stopping methanol reforming apparatus and apparatus for supplying fuel to said apparatus

There is disclosed a process for producing a hydrogen-containing gas, which comprises reacting methanol, steam and oxygen in the presence of (1) a catalyst comprising platinum and zinc oxide, wherein the content of the platinum is in the range of 5 to 50% by weight based on the total amount of the platinum and zinc oxide, or (2) a catalyst comprising platinum, zinc oxide and chromium oxide, wherein the atomic ratio of zinc to chromium (zinc/chromium) is in the range of 2 to 30, or (3) a catalyst comprising platinum, zinc oxide and at least one element selected from the group consisting of lead, bismuth and indium. Each of the catalysts has a high activity and is excellent in heat resistance and selectivity to steam-reforming reaction, and accordingly is capable of efficiently producing a reformed gas which is composed principally of hydrogen and is well suited for use in a fuel cell and the like by means of auto thermal reaction reaction, while lowering the concentration of carbon monoxide in a reformed hydrogen-containing gas.

There is disclosed a process for producing a hydrogen-containing gas, which comprises reacting methanol, steam and oxygen in the presence of a catalyst comprising palladium, zinc and at least one metal selected from the group consisting of chromium, gallium, copper, indium, bismuth and platinum. That is to say, the process include the following four aspects: (I) a process which comprises reacting methanol, steam and oxygen in the presence of a catalyst comprising palladium, zinc, and either or both of chromium and gallium; (II) a process which comprises reacting methanol, steam and oxygen in the presence of a catalyst comprising palladium, zinc, copper and chromium; (III) a process which comprises reacting methanol, steam and oxygen in the presence of a catalyst comprising palladium and zinc, or chromium added thereto optionally, and either or both of indium and bismuth; and (IV) a process which comprises reacting methanol, steam and oxygen in the presence of a catalyst comprising zinc oxide, palladium and platinum. The use of the above steam-reforming catalyst having a high activity, high selectivity and sufficient durability makes it possible to produce a hydrogen-containing gas which is composed principally of hydrogen and minimized in CO concentration in an industrially advantageous manner through an auto thermal reformer where methanol, steam and oxygen are reacted with one another.

In a reforming catalyst apparatus provided with a reforming catalyst for forming a hydrogen rich reformed gas by a reforming reaction of the fuel with water, the catalyst performance can be recovered by heating the catalyst within a temperature ranging from 500&#xb0; C. to 800&#xb0; C. while supplying said fuel and air to the catalyst. This method allows recovery of the catalyst performance without demounting the catalyst from the reforming catalyst apparatus and allows providing the reforming catalyst with a long service life.

In order to achieve the objects described above, the methanol reforming apparatus that generates a hydrogen-rich gas by reacting a mixed gas of water, methanol and air on a catalyst is supplied with the fuel from a fuel supplying apparatus comprising a mixed water-methanol solution tank wherein the molar ratio of water and methanol used for reforming is controlled to a predetermined value, a mixed water-methanol solution tank wherein the molar ratio of water and methanol is controlled to 4.6 or higher, and a switching means that switches the mixed water-methanol solution tank used as a fuel source according to the conditions of operation of the methanol reforming apparatus.
