The battery case includes: an open box-shaped case body holding components of a battery; and a sealing plate that is integrated with the case body to close an opening of the case body. A stepped portion on which the sealing plate is placed is formed on an inner wall surface of the case body. The stepped portion includes: a mounting surface on which the sealing plate is placed; an opposed surface opposed to a periphery of the sealing plate placed on the mounting surface; and a depressed corner depressed outwardly from the opposed surface between the mounting surface and the opposed surface.

A painting method and a painting apparatus for a band material that prevent a printing defect during a long-time operation by preventing agglomeration and adhesion of a thixotropic paint in a paint pan is disclosed. The liquid paint is discharged to the paint pan as a jet flow from a level lower than a liquid surface of a paint basin toward a bottom of the paint pan, thereby creating a bottom flow along the bottom of the paint pan and an upward vortex from the bottom along a side wall of the paint pan. The liquid paint overflows in an amount corresponding to a supplied amount to the paint pan from a front upper edge of the paint pan in a flowing direction of the bottom flow, thereby flowing the liquid paint continuously in the paint pan toward the front upper edge.

Painting method and painting apparatus for band material

An apparatus and a method for accurately processing a neck portion of a bottle-shaped can without changing a posture of the can. An inner tool is inserted into the neck portion from the bottom of a can body to form a stepped portion, and comprises a first forming section having a diameter smaller than an inner diameter of a neck portion. An outer tool comprises a second forming section that is opposed to the inner tool. The stepped portion is formed on the neck portion by sandwiching the neck portion by the first forming section and the second forming section. The inner tool further comprises a holding member that is situated coaxially with the can body to be contacted to an inner surface of the can body. The holding member is attached to the inner tool while being allowed to move in a radial direction together with the can body.

Forming apparatus and forming method for neck portion of bottle-shaped can

A bottle-shaped can in which flatness and circularity of a neck portion are improved. An upper incomplete thread portion is formed at an upper end of a thread. A height of the upper incomplete thread portion is shorter than an average height of the thread, and increases gradually toward the average height. A length of the upper incomplete thread portion between a first point and a second point is set in such a manner that an angle between a line drawn between the first point and a center point of the neck portion, and a line drawn between the second point and the center point of the neck portion falls within a range from 20 degrees to 60 degrees.

Threaded bottle-shaped can and manufacturing method thereof

A bottle-shaped can in which a cap can be mounted on a neck portion without damaging slits and bridges. An annular bead comprises a diametrically largest portion, an upper inclined surface, and a lower inclined surface. An angle of inclination of the upper inclined surface is narrower than that of the lower inclined surface. A thread ridge comprises an incomplete thread portion in which a groove depth is shallower than an average groove depth of the thread ridge, and the incomplete thread portion is formed at one end of the thread ridge on the upper inclined surface at least partially. An angle of inclination of a lower wall of the thread ridge is greater than that of the upper inclined surface so that a protruding corner is formed. The slits and the bridges are situated at a level lower than the protruding corner.

Accordingly, the trim end portion of in the curled portion can be prevented from getting rusty, and deterioration in the appearance of the curled portion can be avoided. Moreover, the strength of the curled portion is enhanced so that the resistance against the deformation is improved.

A configuration of an outwardly curled portion formed on an opening portion of a metal can, in which both inner and outer faces of a metal sheet forming at least around the opening portion are covered with a resin film, in which the curled portion formed above an inclined face by curling an upper end of a trim end portion so as to confine it inside of the curled portion, as being squeezed in the can radius direction so as to contact its lower end with the inclined face, and in which the metal sheet layers are folded in the can radius direction via the resin films in the most part but except around both upper and lower ends of the curled portion. This method comprises: a step of preforming a bottom corner portion of the can into a curved shoulder face having an arcuate longitudinal section; a first diametrically small cylindrical portion forming step of drawing the bottom of the can into a diametrically smaller bottomed cylindrical shape than the trunk portion, with the curved shoulder face of the bottom corner portion being unwrinkled; a second diametrically small cylindrical portion forming step of drawing the bottomed cylindrical portion drawn from the can bottom into a diametrically smaller bottomed cylindrical shape, with the bottom corner portion being unwrinkled by the surface of a tool; and a shoulder portion reforming step of pushing and extending the shoulder portion, which is formed by the first diametrically small cylindrical portion forming step and the second diametrically small cylindrical portion forming step into a smooth slope leading to the curved shoulder face on the trunk side, after the diameter of the bottomed cylindrical portion formed by executing the drawing working of the second diametrically small cylindrical portion forming step once or two or more times becomes substantially equal to a diameter of the neck portion.

Production method for bottle type can and form-working tool

The invention is a bottle-shaped can manufacturing method of shaping a neck portion, a shoulder portion and a body portion integrally. The method comprises: a step of shaping a covered metallic sheet, as prepared by forming thermoplastic resin covering films on the two surfaces of a metallic sheet and by applying a lubricant to the thermoplastic resin covering films, into a cup shape by punching out the metallic sheet; a step of shaping the shaped cup into a bottomed cylindrical can reduced in diameter and thinned at its body portion; a step of shaping the bottom side of the bottomed cylindrical can into a shoulder portion and an unopened neck portion; a step of removing the lubricant at least from the outer surface of the can which is not opened at its neck portion but opened at the lower end of its body portion; a step of applying a printed design to the outer surface of the body portion cleared of the lubricant; and a step of shaping a cut end portion, as opened by cutting the leading end portion of the unopened neck portion, into a curled portion and shaping a threaded portion below the curled portion. Therefore, a protective covering film can be formed in a homogeneous state on the metallic surface of the can. On the other hand, a decorative print can be satisfactorily applied to the outer surface of the body portion of the can. For handling the can at the printing step, moreover, there can be converted a transfer apparatus by the vacuum or compressed air injection mechanism which has been employed in the prior art.

Method of manufacturing bottle type can

A process for manufacturing a cylindrical metal can having, on its side walls, projected portions and recessed portions. The projected portions are formed by forcing the side walls radially outwardly, and the recessed portions are formed by urging unprojected portions radially inwardly while the projected portions are being forced radially outwardly.
