An electrical connector includes a case configured to be mounted on a mounting surface of a substrate, a receptacle configured to be mounted on the mounting surface as accommodated in the case, and a hold-down configured to be attached to the case. The case includes an accommodation part configured to accommodate the receptacle, and a front wall part, projecting wall parts and engagement parts configured to retain the receptacle in the accommodation part. The front wall part, projecting wall parts and engagement parts include elastically deformable engagement parts configured to retain the receptacle in the accommodation part with an elastic force. The hold-down includes a restriction part configured to restrict elastic deformation of the engagement parts in a direction of causing the receptacle to fall out of the accommodation part.

An electrical connector includes: a case including an accommodation part that accommodates a receptacle, a front wall part, a restriction part, and an engagement part that retain the receptacle in the accommodation part, a contact part that makes contact with a mounting surface, and a communication hole that is extended upward from the accommodation part and open to outside at its upper end and vertically movably retains a slider; the receptacle that includes a terminal prat located at the same height as the contact part or below the contact part and is movable upward; and the slider that can press down the receptacle retained in the accommodation part by the front wall part, the restriction part, and the engagement part.

Electrical connector, method for manufacturing electrical connector, and method for mounting electrical connector

An electric connector is provided which enables a cost increase to be reduced and enables strength to be improved. The electric connector for connecting a cable to a counterpart connector includes: a connection part that is connected to an electrically conductive part of the cable, that is connected to an electrically conductive member of the counterpart connector, and that is electrically conductive; a holding member that holds the cable and the connection part; a case that covers the holding member; and a cover that covers a part of the case. The case includes an engaging arm part that is engaged with the holding member and that is elastically deformable. The cover includes regulating parts that cover the engaging arm part and regulate elastic deformation of the engaging arm part in a direction in which engagement of the engaging arm part with the holding member is released.

Electric connector

A cable connector can suppress an increase in machining cost and restrict variations in quality while preventing loosening of the caulking, stabilizing conduction with a conductive part of the cable, and preventing a decrease in the fixing strength to the cable. A cable connector includes a conductive contact that is connected to an internal conductive part; an insulating insulator that holds the contact; a conductive shell that includes a caulking section caulked to an external insulating part and covers the insulator; and a cylindrical conductive outer sleeve that is located over the caulking section and caulked to the external insulating part via the caulking section.

A first inner housing and a second inner housing are combined to form a combined inner housing, in which the first inner housing having a plurality of mutually independent insertion holes is formed of a first dielectric or an electric conductor, and the second inner housing having a plurality of mutually independent terminal-housing chambers is formed of a second dielectric. Terminals of a twisted-pair cable are inserted and housed one-to-one in the terminal-housing chambers of the combined inner housing. The twist-released sections of sheathed cables of the twisted-pair cable are inserted and housed one-to-one in the insertion holes of the combined inner housing. The combined inner housing is covered with a shield member, and the combined inner housing and the shield member are housed in an outer housing.

A shield connector is formed such that an electrical wire shield portion at an end of an electrical shield wire is removed to expose a plurality of single shield wires; connection terminals are each connected to the conductor at an end of each exposed single shield wire; the connection terminals are held in an inner housing; the inner housing and the single shield wires are sheathed with a shield shell; and an attachment piece integrated with the shield shell is fixedly attached to an end of the electrical shield wire. The shield shell is provided with a connector shield member, and the connector shield member is electrically connected to single wire shield portions of the exposed single shield wires.

Shield connector and method for connecting same

A connection structure between two metal plates for mutually positioning and electrically connecting the metal plates is provided by a simple press-in process without using an additional connection part. A curved blade plate curving with a curvature smaller than that of a cylindrical inner wall surface of an insertion hole in one of the metal plates in the same direction as that of the cylindrical inner wall is formed on the other metal plate. The curved blade plate is pressed into the insertion hole while being elastically deformed in the curving direction, so that edges along both side edges of a curved outer peripheral surface each make press contact with the cylindrical inner wall surface. The metal plates are thereby fixed and electrically connected to each other.

Electrical connector

Provided is an electrical connector without making the manufacturing process complicated and without increasing the size and the manufacturing cost, wherein, an electrical connector includes a holddown attached to a body part of a second insulating housing and fixed to a circuit board P. The holddown is formed of a single metal sheet, and includes a held part held by body part, leg parts extending from the held part, protruding from opposed faces facing the circuit board of the body part placed on the circuit board, and being fixed to the circuit board, and an extension part extending from the held part in a direction parallel to a direction in which a counterpart connector is engaged.

A pair of engaging holesare formed in side wall portions of the plug pinand a pair of engaging beamsare formed on side wall portions of an insulating housing, the engaging beamsbeing pushed by an external contactand moving toward a pin inserting holewhen the insulating housingwith the plug pinpress-fitted therein is inserted into the external contact. As a result, a pair of retaining pawlsare put in engagement with the engaging holes, whereby the plug pinand the insulating housingare fixed to each other. Since the plug pinand the insulating housingare fixed together by both press-fit engagement of the plug pininto the insulating housingand engagement of the retaining pawlswith the engaging holes, the strength of the fixing is enhanced.

Connector

A connection part has at least two matingly interengaging contact pieces that electrically connect the central conductor of a coaxial cable without soldering or trimming. In the preferred embodiment, the connection part includes a bifurcated segment and another segment resiliently disposed between the bifurcated segment. A jig is inserted through an opening into the connection part, separating and pushing the segments apart, creating a space where the central conductor of a coaxial cable is inserted. The central conductor is pressed against a groove formed by an arcuate section of the connection part segments. When the jig is removed, the resilient action of the segments grip and bend the central conductor holding it firmly and electrically connecting it to the connection part. Bendable cover pieces close the opening. An insulative covering closes and protects the coaxial connector. Grounding arms are connected to the shielding conductor of the coaxial cable and project from slots in the insulative covering. A clamping section clamps the outermost layer of the coaxial cable securing it to the coaxial connector.

Coaxial connector

Lock arms on both sides of a connector have locking protuberances which lock into indentations of a mate connector. One side of the each of the lock arms as well as the sides along the indentation have tapered edges. The sides of the connector can be twisted with respect to each other. During twisting the tapered edges engage to raise the locking protuberances out of engagement with the indentations, thereby permitting easy disconnection of the connectors. The result is a connector locking structure which is easily disconnected but which positively resists unintended disconnection.

Contact piece (63), which are used to establish therethrough electric connections between shielding areas on front and rear cases (41) and (43) making up an electronic equipment housing, are formed without bending so that they can be mounted on ribs (57, 59) of the cases (41, 43). A metal shield layer is coated all over the interior surface (55) of the rear case (43) and the partition wall (59) in a manner to surround a high-frequency oscillation circuit, and each contact piece (63) is held in a recess (61) formed in the partition wall (59). The contact pieces (63) are each produced by stamping a conductive sheet metal and has a resilient contact portion (75), which makes resilient contact with the shielding area (53) on the mating case by bending in direction perpendicular to that in which the contact piece (63) was stamped from the conductive sheet metal. The contact piece (63) can be formed simply by stamping and can be mounted in the recess (61) of about the same width as its thickness. Hence, the contact piece (63) can be mounted in the rib (57, 59) of a small thickness.
