Disclosed is a maternity biodata measurement system, wherein a sum of a pre-pregnancy energy expenditure and a pregnancy extra energy amount of a subject is determined as an energy amount necessary for the subject in a pregnancy period. In particular, the pregnancy extra energy amount is determined based on pre-pregnancy body-mass index data and elapsed pregnancy-period data about the subject, so as to allow the necessary energy amount to be determined as a value appropriate for the subject. The maternity biodata measurement system of the present invention makes it possible to measure a necessary energy amount for a pregnant woman on an individual basis.

A body composition management apparatus for a pregnant woman which measures body fat or body water by a bioelectrical impedance method is provided. The apparatus comprises: first input means, second input means, measurement means, first computation means, and second computation means, wherein the first input means inputs personal data of a pregnant woman such as a body height and a body weight, the second input means inputs the gestational weeks, the measurement means measures the bioelectrical impedance of the pregnant woman, the first computation means computes a body fat mass or a total body water from the personal data and the impedance, and the second computation means computes a body fat mass or total body water in a non-pregnant state from the computed body fat mass or total body water and the amount of an increase in body weight from the non-pregnant state.

A health management device for pregnant women calculates the amount of change in body fat and the amount of change in total body water between a non-pregnant period and the time of measurement based on the amount of increase in body weight between the non-pregnant period and the time of measurement, and determines the health condition of a pregnant woman based on the calculated amount of change in body fat and amount of change in total body water.

Measurements by use of a conventional caliper process require skills and experiences. Further, since different pregnant women gain and keep fats in their bodies in different ways, results of measurements of their body fats vary. To overcome the inconvenience, there is provided a system for measuring a percent body fat or a total body fat by a bioelectrical impedance method, which comprises first input means, second input means and computation means, wherein personal data of a patient such as a height and a body weight is input into the first input means, a weight of a fetal part is input into the second input means, and the computation means computes a percent body fat or a total body fat by subtracting the body weight input into the second input means from the body weight input into the first input means. Further, to overcome the inconvenience, there is provided a system for measuring a percent body fat by a bioelectrical impedance method which comprises first input means, second input means and computation means, wherein personal data of a patient such as a height and a body weight is input into the first input means, a weight of a fetal part is input into the second input means, and the computation means computes a percent body fat by subtracting the body weight input into the second input means from the body weight input into the first input means.
