A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material containing a novel cyan dye forming coupler is disclosed. The cyan dye forming coupler is represented by the following formula. ##STR1## In the formula R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each a substituent, and X is a group capable of being splitted off from the coupler residue upon reaction of the coupler residue with the oxydized product of a color developing agent; and the total number of carbon atoms contained in the groups represented by R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and X is from 8 to 50. The spectral absorption characteristics of cyan dye images formed by the coupler of the invention are so sharp and steep that color reproduction can be achieved very advantageously.

A diphenylimidazole type cyan dye represented by the following Formula [I] or [II] is disclosed. The dye is capable of displaying relatively more preferable absorption characteristics so as to serve as a cyan dye, and suitable to be use in photographic, thermal transfer, ink-jet, printing or other printing media. ##STR1##

Diphenylimidazole type dyes

There is disclosed a coupler for photography represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a branched alkyl group having 3 to 5 carbon atoms; R.sub.2 represents an aryl group; X represents a divalent linking group; Ar represents an aryl group; and Z is a hydrogen atom or a group eliminable through the coupling reaction with the oxidized product of an aromatic primary amine type color developing agent, and a light-sensitive silver halide photographic material comprising the same. The coupler mentioned above is not only excellent in solubility in organic solvents, but also can be easily purified, thus being capable of exhibiting excellent characteristics with respect to spectral absorption characteristics, sensitivity, color density, color staining as well as with respect to image storability such as light resistance, heat resistance and humidity resistance.

Disclosed is a light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material having at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer on a support, characterized in that said light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer contains a cyan coupler represented by the formula [I] shown below, and said light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and/or a layer contiguous to said light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer contains at least one of a timing DIR compound represented by the formula [II] shown below and a non-timing type DIR compound: ##STR1## wherein X, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are as defined in the specification; ##STR2## wherein Cp, TIME and Z are as defined in the specification.

Light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material

There are disclosed a light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material having a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing at least one kind of cyan dye forming couplers represented by the formula [I] or the formula [II] as defined in the specification provided on a reflective support, and a light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material further having a green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing at least one kind of magenta couplers represented by the formula [III] as defined in the specification. The light-sensitive silver halide color photographic materials according to this invention have excellent color forming characteristics and form very fast dyes to heat, light and humidity.

Disclosed is a light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material having at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer on a support, characterized in that said light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer contains a cyan coupler represented by formula [I] shown below, and said light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and/or a layer contiguous to said light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer contains a colored cyan coupler represented by the formula [II]: ##STR1## wherein X, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are as defined in the specification; ##STR2## wherein (Coup--).sub.c, L, Q.sub.1, Q.sub.2, M, j, and G are as defined in the specification.

Disclosed is a light-silver silver halide color photographic material, having a blue sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, a green sensitive silver halide emulsion and a red sensitive silver halide emulsion on a support; which comprises said red sensitive silver halide emulsion containing at least one kind of the compounds represented by the formula [I] shown below, and further the content of the silver halide contained in all of the aforesaid light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers being 7.5 g/m.sup.2 or more as calculated on silver, and the content of the silver halide contained in said red sensitive silver halide emulsion being 3.5 g/m.sup.2 or more as calculated on silver: ##STR1## wherein, X, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 as defined in the specification.

A dye image-receiving layer in a diffusion transfer image-receiving sheet comprises a novel mordant polymer which is a copolymer of 4-vinylpyridine, a monomer containing at least 2 ethylenically unsaturated groups and a monomer containing an .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated group. The polymer has excellent film-forming properties without the use of a solvent and does not require any film hardener.

Color diffusion transfer dye mordant

A photographic element particularly for the color diffusion transfer process having a support and an image pattern receiving layer which comprises a polymer containing at least 10 mole percent of a repeating unit of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 each represent an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, a cycloalkyl group or a cycloalkylalkyl group; and X.sup..sym. represents a monovalent anion.
