There is disclosed a process for producing a self-supporting package having an outlet stopper which comprises: (a) a process for supplying a self-supporting bag which has an opening part for filling contents at the top thereof and holding the bag at a vertical position, (b) a process for opening the opening part of the self-supporting bag, (c) a process for filling the self-supporting bag with contents, (d) a process for supplying an outlet stopper which has an outlet with a stopper on a ship-shaped flange to the opening part, and (e) a process for sealing the side faces of the ship-shaped flange of the main part of the outlet stopper to the inner side faces of the opening part of the self-supporting bag. These processes are conducted in the order of the processes (a), (b), (c), (d) to (e), consecutively. An apparatus comprising mechanisms corresponding to the processes (a) to (e) is also disclosed. The self-supporting package having an outlet stopper and filled with contents can be produced with high productivity. Shape of the self-supporting package can be freely selected. Sealing time is shorter than that of conventional heat sealing processes. The sealing can be surely achieved even when foreign substances are present on the face of sealing. The self-supporting package produced has excellent sealing stability and simple structure, is provided with an outlet stopper at the top of the package, and is easy for handling.

Surgical instrument

A surgical ultrasonic horn used in a surgical operation comprises a horn body and an end plate portion. Cutting portions are provided on an edge and an end of the end portion. A passage for irrigation solution extends in the horn body and the end plate portion. At least one bore opens at the cutting portions by a jet angle of 5.degree. to 90.degree. in respect of a plane of the end plate portion. The irrigation solution passage communicates with the bore, thereby the irrigation solution is sprayed therethrough.

Surgical ultrasonic horn

A surgical operation device comprising an ultrasonic piezoelectric transducer for generating ultrasonic vibrations, an oscillation feedback type oscillator for supplying high-frequency power to the ultrasonic transducer, a vibration transmitter connected to the ultrasonic transducer for transmitting and amplifying mechanical vibrations at an ultrasonic frequency, a suction unit and an irrigator. The ultrasonic transducer includes a bolted Langevin type transducer. The feedback circuit of the oscillation feedback type oscillator includes an oscillation voltage detector, a phase comparator, a low pass filter, a differential amplifier, and a voltage controlled oscillator. Thus, the mechanical resonant frequency can be traced in a wide range of fluctuations of a load on the vibration transmitter during vibration and vibrations can start an appropriate mechanical resonate frequency irrespective of the load status of the vibration transmitter at the start-up.

A horn used in an ultrasonic surgical operating instrument for crushing and removing organic tissue comprises a horn body vibrated by and ultrasonic vibration source for crushing the organic tissue, a removing passage extending through the horn body, through which the crushed tissue is removed outside, a bulkhead disposed in the removing passage, and at least one through hole formed in the bulkhead. The bulkhead and the hole cooperate with each other to reduce a cross-sectional area of the removing passage.

An artificial ventilator includes a dome for covering the precordial and the sides of the thoracoabdominal of a patient, a blower to be used for applying negative and positive pressures within the dome, a regulator for adjusting a pressure, and the like. The valve switching device is controlled by a respiration detection system. In the respiration detection system, a pyrolelectric element is used as a respiratory sensor for detecting a temperature change rate caused by an inspired and expired air flow. The temperature change rate signal obtained by the sensor is compared with a threshold value set by a variable resistor, the start timings of expired air and inspired air are detected in accordance with the comparison result, and air inspiration and expiration start timing signals are outputted. Further, the artificial ventilator can be provided with various functions of forced respiration and intermittent deep breathing by means of a timer, synchronization only with air inspiration timings, reduction of frequency of respiration assistance for the intention not to use the ventilator in the near future, backup during apnea, and the like. The artificial ventilator allows a physilogical respiration assistance matching the patient's physiological intention by synchronizing with the patient' s respiration. Thus, an effort and pain in breathing with a conventional mechanical ventilation can be avoided so that the artificial ventilator is suitable for a long term use and useful for a quick recovery of respiration function of an acute respiratory failure patient.

An image recording apparatus of this invention includes a microfilm feeder for moving images on a microfilm to a read position; a printer section for forming an image on the microfilm located at the read position on a sheet; a plurality of bin trays for stacking the sheets delivered from the printer section; a sorter for distributing the sheets delivered from the printer section to the bin trays; a case mark detector for detecting a case mark formed in correspondence with a specific one of images of each case on the microfilm; and a CPU for controlling the sorter in accordance with an output from the case mark detector so that different bin trays hold the sheets, on which images of each objective case are formed, in units of cases; and an input unit for inputting a copy set number. The CPU also controls the printer section so as to repeat an operation for sequentially recording the images of each objective case in a predetermined order in units of sets.

Image recording apparatus

A gas concentration measuring instrument using the dependency of the propagation velocity of ultrasonic wave propagating in gas on the gas concentration incorporates a dampproof ultrasonic sensor with a metal or the like deposited by evaporation on the surface of the sealing material. Therefore, this gas concentration measuring instrument is almost not affected by the change of temperature and humidity and can precisely measure gas concentration continuously for a long period of time under high humidity. The ultrasonic sensor is formed fundamentally by an ultrasonic vibrator, a holder and a sealing material. More preferably, this sensor is embedded in a block and sealed with an elastic sealing material and a film of conductive material and/or a nonconductive material is formed on the surface of the sealing material, the elastic sealing material, the vibrating end surface of the ultrasonic sensor and the end surface of the block.

A measuring ultrasonic wave transmitter comprises a negative immitance converter inserted between an ultrasonic transmitting transducer and a drive amplifier for driving the transmitting transducer. The output impedance of the drive amplifier, the damping impedance of the transmitting transducer and the impedance between the transmitting transducer and the drive amplifier are offset by the negative impedance caused by the negative immitance converter. A measuring ultrasonic wave receiver comprises a negative immitance converter inserted between a receiving transducer and a pre-amplifier for amplifying the output of the receiving transducer. The damping admittance of the receiving transducer and the load admittance of the receiving transducer are offset by the negative admittance caused by the negative immitance converter.
