An image sensing device includes a prism unit, image sensing element, fixing member, case member, support member, and a switching mechanism. The prism unit has at least two reflecting surfaces each having a free-form surface shape. The support member movably supports the prism unit within a predetermined movable range along the direction crossing light-receiving surface of the image sensing element. The switching mechanism selectively moves the prism unit to the first position at which the prism unit abuts against the fixing member or the second position at which the prism unit abuts against the case member in synchronism with the support member.

An image pick-up module of the present invention is such that, on one surface of the substrate , a positioning reference surface P constituted of an equally flattened surface is defined, the positioning reference surface P includes a semiconductor chip positioning surface portion, a frame member mounting surface portion at which a frame member is joined and mounted, and a mirror frame positioning reference surface portion at which a mirror frame position is joined upon being mounted and positioned, in which the semiconductor chip and lens frame member are positioned on the positioning reference surface constituted of the equally flattened surface defined on the one surface of the substrate while using the reference surface portion at which at the semiconductor chip is joined and positioned and reference surface portion at which the lens frame member is joined and positioned.

An image taking optical unit comprises an image taking optical system including a lens, an image pick-up element mounting substrate on which an image pick-up element chip is mounted, and a frame member for retaining the both. The frame member comprises a lens positioning face and a substrate positioning face, both of which cooperate to align centers of the lens and chip and position them with a suitable distance. The lens positioning face comprises a vertically lens positioning section for determining a vertical lens position and a horizontally lens positioning section for determining a horizontal lens position. The substrate positioning face comprises a vertically substrate positioning section for determining a vertical substrate position and a horizontally substrate positioning section for determining a horizontal substrate position. The vertically substrate positioning section comprises z direction positioning portion against which an upper surface of the substrate is pressed and the horizontally substrate positioning section comprises x and y direction positioning portions against which side faces of the substrate are pressed.

Image taking lens unit with frame member for positioning lens and substrate

An IC having an image pickup element for optically picking up a code to output an image signal, and an optical system for optically inputting the code to the image pickup element are provided to a reading section for optically reading a code from an information recording medium having a portion at which multimedia information is recorded as an optically readable code. The image pickup element and the optical system are integrally arranged. Further, an IC having an image memory for storing the image signal output from the image pickup element, and an IC for reconstituting the multimedia information from the image signal are provided. A defective element due to a semiconductor manufacturing method is used for at least one of these ICs.
