An anti-skid device for use in a vehicle braking system and comprising a master cylinder for generating pressurized fluid in response to the actuation of a brake pedal, a reservoir supplying hydraulic fluid to the master cylinder, a deceleration detector for detecting the deceleration of a vehicle body the speed of which having been decreased in response to the actuation of the brake pedal, a first valve device for transmitting the fluid pressure generated in the master cylinder to a wheel brake cylinder in actuating the brake pedal and for intercepting the communication between the wheel cylinder and the master cylinder when the deceleration detector detects a predetermined amount of deceleration. The first valve device includes an expansion chamber normally filled by a predetermined amount of pressurized fluid, a dump valve communicating the expansion chamber with the reservoir when the deceleration detector detects the deceleration, and a pump device for pressurizing the expansion chamber. A second valve device is interposed between the first valve device and the reservoir and include a sensor for sensing the inclination of the vehicle such that when the vehicle is at a predetermined up-hill condition the second valve device closes to intercept the communication between the expansion chamber of the first valve device and the reservoir.

Anti-skid device

A dust cover formed of a tubular flexible material and provided between a shaft and a body member which has a bore rotatably receiving the shaft. One end of the dust cover sealingly engages with the outer circumference of the shaft and with the inner circumference of a counterbored portion of the bore, and the other end of the dust cover sealingly engages with the outer circumference of the shaft.

A disc brake including a brake lever, a cylindrical cam member rotatably supported in a mounting hole and connected to the brake lever, a push rod reciprocably disposed in a bore which opens to and extends transverse to the mounting hole, and a connecting member extending between a cam groove formed in the cam member and a recess formed in the push rod to convert the rotational movement of the cam member into linear movement of the push rod. A connecting member receiving groove is formed contiguous to the cam groove in the cam member to allow the connecting member to be received wholly with the outer periphery of the cam member during assembly.

Disc brake

A disc brake of the type including a pair of friction pads mounted on opposite sides of a rotatable disc, a stationary supporting member supporting the friction pads for directly receiving the braking torque from the friction pads, and a caliper supported on the supporting member and being slidable thereon for applying the friction pads against the opposite sides of the disc. The supporting member has a pair of arm portions spaced in the direction of the circumference of the disc and straddling respectively the disc for supporting and guiding the friction pads, a mounting portion disposed at one side of the disc and adapted to be mounted on a non-rotatable part of a vehicle and extending between the arm portions, and a beam portion interconnecting the arm portions and extending in a circumferential groove formed in the outer circumference of the disc.

A disc brake has a stationary supporting member straddling a rotatable disc for supporting a pair of friction pads slidable on the opposite sides of the disc, and a caliper slidably mounted on the supporting member and carrying an actuator on one side of the disc. The caliper is mounted slidably and pivotally relative to the disc by a single pin, and the caliper engages with one of the friction pads such that the pivotal movement of the caliper is prevented.

A disc brake including a brake lever, a cylindrical cam member rotatably supported in a mounting hole and connected to the brake lever, a push rod reciprocably disposed in a bore which opens to and extends transverse to the mounting hole, and a connecting member extending between a cam groove formed in the cam member and a recess formed in the push rod to convert the rotational movement of the cam member into linear movement of the push rod. A connecting member receiving groove is formed contiguous to the cam groove in the cam member to allow the connecting member to be received wholly within the outer periphery of the cam member during assembly.

Disc Brake

A disc brake includes a caliper defining a cylinder body therein, a first piston slidably and sealingly received in the cylinder body, an inner cylinder disposed within the first piston and a second piston slidably and sealingly received in the inner cylinder. The outer periphery of the first piston is in slidable and sealable contact with the inner periphery of the cylinder body and the outer periphery of the inner cylinder is in contact with the inner periphery of the first piston for slidable and sealable movement with the latter and defines a first hydraulic chamber. The outer periphery of the second piston is in slidable and sealable contact with the inner periphery of the inner cylinder and together with the inner cylinder, defines a second hydraulic chamber.

A disc brake has a rotary disc; a pair of friction pads disposed on the opposite sides of the disc applying frictional force to the disc and a body having a first or center cylinder for receiving a center piston acting on one of the pads, at least one second or side cylinder disposed radially and outwardly of the center cylinder for receiving a second piston; a beam acting on the other pad, and a rod for transmitting the movement of the second piston to the beam, whereby when the disc brake is actuated, the first and second pistons move in the opposite directions to cause the pads to be applied against the disc.

A disc brake of the type which has a caliper member slidably supported on a non-rotatable member and straddling a portion of the periphery of a rotatable disc, and a pin guiding the sliding movement of the caliper member relative to the supporting member, is provided with a resilient ring disposed between the pin and a guide bore, and the ring includes an integral dust cover portion extending outward of the guide bore for protecting the portion of the pin which is exposed outward of the guide bore.

A disc brake has a bracket adapted to be secured to a non-rotatable part of a vehicle and straddling a rotatable disc for supporting a pair of friction pads in slidable relationship with the disc to receive braking torque, a housing disposed on one side of the disc and slidably supported for movement in the axial direction, a piston working in a cylinder formed in the housing and urging one of the friction pads against one surface of the disc, and a plate-like yoke straddling the disc and connecting the housing with the other friction pad. The plate-like yoke is secured to the housing with an interference fit at least in the circumferential direction of the disc.

Disc brake with non-deformable yoke

A disc brake has a stationary supporting member straddling a rotatable disc for supporting a pair of friction pads which slide on the opposite sides of the disc, the supporting member being secured to a non-rotatable part of a vehicle by two circumferentially spaced and axially extending bolts. An abutment surface is formed on the supporting member for engaging with a complementary surface formed on a shoulder portion of the non-rotatable part at a location radially inward with respect to each of the bolts and circumferentially outside the two bolts.

Disc brake support structure

A disc brake including a caliper slidably supported on a stationary member by at least one axially extending pin slidably received in a guide bore, wherein a rigid cylindrical member is secured to either the caliper or the stationary member and surrounds the pin and is slidable relative to the other of the caliper and the stationary member, and a seal member is disposed to cooperate with the cylindrical member.

A disc brake has a caliper slidably supported by at least one pin on a stationary supporting member which is secured to a non-rotatable part of a vehicle, and a bushing made of resilient material is disposed between the pin and the inner periphery of a guide hole which receives the pin slidably for attaining relative sliding movement between the caliper and the stationary member, and a plurality of recesses are formed in the periphery of the bushing to retain lubricant therein.

A disc brake has a supporting member secured to a non-rotatable part of a vehicle and two arms spaced circumferentially relative to the disc for guiding a pair of friction pad assemblies therebetween, the friction pad assemblies being engaged with the arms in a manner such that, in applying the brake, braking drag is received by the two arms when the drag exceeds a predetermined amount.
