An electronic timepiece is formed of a power generating device for generating power, a control device for driving on receipt of a power supply from the power generating device, a display device for displaying a time by an operation of the control device, a detecting device for detecting a state of the power generating device, and a deciding device for deciding whether or not the power generating device generates power based on a detection signal sent from the detecting device. The control device controls such that a power generating state of the power generating device is displayed on the display device based on a decision of the deciding device. It is possible to reduce power consumption by stopping hands if required.

An electronic watch has a mechanical analog time-display with hour, minute and second hands. The watch has gear trains disposed in a portion adjacent the axis of the minute hand, and two motors disposed adjacent the gear train for driving the minute hand, hour hand and second hand. A stem is axially shiftably provided adjacent the gear train, and a lever assembly such as a setting lever, clutch lever and sliding clutch wheel is disposed adjacent the stem. A battery is disposed between the lever assembly and one of the motors, and a circuit chip is disposed between the motors.

A method and apparatus processes data representing measured values which are liable to show a poor consistency. Measured values are formed in groups; an average value and a discreteness value of a first group of measured values are calculated; an average value is presented as a most appropriate value to a display only when the discreteness value is below a reference value; otherwise, an average value and a discreteness value of the first and additional groups of measured values are calculated, and the recalculation is continued until the discreteness value has come to be below a reference value which decreases with the number of additional groups of measured values of which an average value and a discreteness value are calculated. The average value is presented as a most appropriate value to a display when the discreteness value is below the reference value.

An electronic watch with a chronograph system has a second hand for displaying the normal time and chronograph time, minute and hour hands for the normal time, a chronograph minute hand and a chronograph hour hand. The watch has a first motor for driving the second hand, a second motor for driving the minute hand and hour hand, and a gear train for transmitting the output of the first motor to the second hand, chronograph minute hand, and chronograph hour hand. A resetting mechanism is provided for resetting the chronograph minute hand and chronograph hour hand to respective zero positions. A first circuit means operates the first motor to reset the second hand to the zero position, and a second circuit means operates for starting and stopping the first motor. The resetting mechanism, first and second circuit means are operated by external manipulating means, thereby changing a normal time display mode to a chronograph time display mode.

A correction system for a hands display type of electronic timepiece which can display a plurality of types of time information such as an alarm time and the current time by a single set of hands, with changeover between display of the different types of information being performed by rapid rotation of the hands, with the system being characterized in that means are provided for inhibiting any input of correction signals by external switch actuations while such changeover is in progress. Errors resulting from accidental switch actuations during display changeover are thereby effectively eliminated.

An analog-type electronic wristwatch structure comprising a main plate having a central area and first to third areas surrounding the central area. A wheel train mechanism is disposed in the central area, and a time correction mechanism is disposed in the first area. An electronic circuit block is disposed in the second area, and an electromechanical transducer is disposed in the third area. A flat battery is disposed over the wheel train mechanism, the time correction mechanism, the electronic circuit block and the electromechanical transducer.

Arrangement of analog-type electronic wristwatch

An analog-type electronic wristwatch structure, in which a main plate is made of an insulating material and has one side including a first area formed with a cutout, and second and third areas. A wheel train bridge is secured to one side of said main plate above said cutout to form therein a space, and a wheel train mechanism is disposed in said space. A flexible circuit board is disposed in the second area of said main plate and has its lower surface facing said main plate, said lower surface being provided with a printed circuit pattern. The flexible circuit board carries electronic components composed of at least a time base vibrator and an IC chip. An electromechanical transducer drive coil is disposed in the third area of said main plate. The main plate has recesses for accommodating at least portions of said electronic components.

A wristwatch movement has a back cover formed with a battery replacement hole, and a base plate formed with a battery compartment in a substantially axial alignment with the battery replacement hole. An actuating lever has one end selectively engageable with a setting lever engaging with a winding stem extending through a radial bore of the base plate, and another end formed with a handling portion extending toward the battery compartment such that the handling portion can be manipulated through the battery replacement hole to cause the one end of the setting lever to disengage from the winding stem, to allow the winding stem to be pulled out of the radial bore.

A watch movement mounting structure for fixing a watch movement in a watch case having a case body including a radially extending annular shoulder and a radially inwardly extending annular projection contiguous with the annular shoulder, which structure comprises a flexible annular support member including an annular wall adapted to rest on the annular shoulder of said case body, a plurality of circumferentially spaced, inwardly directed flange segments each of which extends upwardly of the annular wall to retain the watch movement, and a plurality of circumferentially spaced, outwardly directed flange segments each of which extends downwardly of the annular wall and adapted to engage the annular projection of the case body, whereby said watch movement is fixed in place in said case body and the axial displacement of the watch movement is prevented.
