Siliver halide color photographic materials are disclosed which have high color-reproducibility and high color image-fastness and which are substantially free from variation with respect to sensitivity, gradation or color density as caused by variation of various factors in the development of the materials such as variation of the composition of the treating solution, the treating time or the treating temperature. The present silver halide color photographic materials have at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a support and are characterized in that silver halide grains contained in the emulsion layer comprise silver bromide or silver bromochloride, about 50% or more of the total projected area of said silver halide grains are composed of tabular grains having an average aspect ratio of about 5 or more particularly 5 to 8, and the emulsion layer further contains at least one pyrazoloazole-type magenta coupler represented by general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent;

Silver halide color photographic materials

A photographic silver halide light-sensitive material is described. The material includes at least one of the compounds represented by general formula (I) as described below, their salts, and their precursors releasing the compounds of general formula (I) on cleavage under alkali conditions. ##STR1## (the symbols are as defined in the appended claims). This light-sensitive material is less subject to a variation in photographic performance during the storage, in particular, the formation of fog is prevented.

Photographic silver halide light-sensitive material

A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed. The material is comprised of a support base having a plurality of silver halide emulsion layers positioned thereon. The material includes at least one silver halide emulsion layer having a particular sensitivity and color sensitivity, and a second silver halide emulsion layer having the same color sensitivity but having a greater sensitivity with respect to light, the second layer including a silver halide having a silver iodide content in the range of 9% by mol to 15% by mol. The material includes a DIR compound in a layer other than the second silver halide emulsion layer. The DIR compound releases a diffusible development inhibitor or precursor thereof by a coupling reaction. The resulting material has greatly improved granularity and sharpness.

Silver halide color photographic light-sensitive materials

An improved method for bleaching color photosensitive materials with a persulfate is provided. This method is free of offensive odors, can bleach efficiently color photosensitive materials containing a large amount of silver by using a persulfate, and can effectively bleach color photosensitive materials having colloidal silver layers by using a persulfate. The color photosensitive material used in the present invention contains at least one of the compounds represented by the formula I, salts thereof and precursors thereof: ##STR1## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently represents a hydrogen atom, or an aliphatic residue and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may form a ring together with the N atom; R.sup.3 represents --R.sup.4 -- or --R.sup.4 --S, said --R.sup.4 -- being a divalent aliphatic residue; and X represents a divalent heterocyclic ring residue containing at least one atom selected from the group consisting of a nitrogen atom, an oxygen atom, and a sulfur atom.

Method for bleaching color photosensitive material

A process for bleaching color photographic sensitive materials and color photographic sensitive materials are disclosed. The process comprises bleaching the silver halide color photographic sensitive materials which are comprised of a support base, a silver halide emulsion layer, and a compound represented by the general formula (I) or strong acid salts thereof in a layer which does not substantially form silver salts of said compounds with a treating solution containing persulfate after being exposed to the light and carrying out color development: ##STR1## wherein M represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal atom, an alkaline earth metal, a quaternary ammonium group, a quaternary phosphonium group, an amidino group or ##STR2## R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each represents a hydrogen atom or an aliphatic group, and m represents an integer of 2 to 4. The bleaching process effectively bleaches color sensitive materials having a high silver content and/or a colloidal silver layer without creating a bad odor.

Process for bleaching color photographic sensitive materials

A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed. The material contains at least one member of the compounds represented by the general formula: ##STR1## (wherein the symbols are the same as described in the appended claims). In this silver halide photographic light-sensitive material, variations in photographic performance are prevented during the storage thereof and, further, the occurrence of fog is prevented without causing a reduction in sensitivity.
