An inverted-design microscope provided with a micromanipulator so as to be movable along the optical axis in interlocking with the movement of the objective lens for focusing pricking in order that the micromanipulator may be operated minutely and simply on an object to be observed without preventing the illuminating system from being attached, detached, replaced or switched. The micromanipulator is so formed as to be able to prick the object along the optical axis of the objective lens in such a manner that the tip part of a stylus of the micromanipulator is always arranged slightly above a focus position of the objective lens.

A micromanipulator for an inverted design microscope comprises a needle carrier disposed between a stage and a condenser lens of the microscope for carrying a glass needle in the direction of an optical axis. It also includes a centering mechanism which causes a displacement of the glass needle in a plane orthogonal to the optical axis, a hydraulic drive mechanism disposed on the upper surface of the stage for supporting the needle carrier to cause a vertical movement of the glass needle carried by the carrier along the optical axis, and a hydraulic operator connected to the hydraulic drive mechanism through a hydraulic transmission tube.

A photographing apparatus for microscopes, in order to make it possible to obtain a photograph of a proper exposure always irrespective of the size of a sample image, comprising an indicator arranged in a position substantially conjugate with an image surface of the photographing apparatus, a first light source for illuminating the indicator, an output generating means for determining an exposure time in photographing of a sample image and an adjusting means capable of proportionally adjusting the brightness of the first light source and an output to be issued from the output generating means, an output to be issued from the output generating means being determined so as to make it possible to photograph the sample image with a proper exposure by operating the first adjusting means to make the brightness of the indicator coincide with the brightness of the sample image formed on the indicator. This apparatus can be detachably mounted on the body of a conventional automatic exposure photographing apparatus for microscopes, is simple in the structure and can be manufactured at a low cost.

An inverted-design optical microscope wherein, in order to lower the level of stage and the total height of a microscope body and to simplify the switching operation between an observing light path and photographing light paths, a second optical means for leading a light from an object to be inspected to the observing light path is arranged below a first optical means for leading said light alternatively to a plurality of phtographing light paths, the second optical means and first optical means are arranged respectively as fixed and movably, and a plurality of optical elements forming the first optical means and so many focusing mirrors are moved integrally by a single operating handle.

A photographing indication device for microscopes comprising a transparent plate-shaped indication member arranged in the optical path of a microscope in such a manner that its surface including engraved indication lines is located at a position conjugate with the image surface of a photographing device, a plurality of light emitting means having different emission colors and arranged on the side of said indication member for illuminating said member, and control circuit equipped with variable resistor for glowing said light emitting means selectively and capable of controlling light intensity with variable resistor, thereby allowing said indication lines to be clearly distinguishable from an image to be observed and illuminated brightly and uniformly even during microscopy under the dark field illumination or reflecting fluorescence illumination.

Photographing indication device for microscopes

A heater for microscopes for heating a sample and maintaining the sample, which is mounted on a platform of the microscope, at a preset temperature during observation of the sample. The heater includes a platform for supporting thereon a sample container and a heater for heating at least part of the platform. A first heater box is fitted, open end down, over the platform and is connected thereto to form a first space which surrounds the sample container. A second heater box is then fitted over the first heater box in such a manner that a second space which surrounds the first heater box is formed. Heater means are provided for heating the second space. Accordingly, the temperatures in the first space and in the second space can be controlled independently to achieve better control over the temperature of the sample which is to be observed and to control condensation which may otherwise form in the sample holding container.

An inverted-design microscope wherein, in order to make an effective micro-operation and microscope observation possible and to make it easy to set and replace system accessories and samples to be observed, holding means capable of holding a plurality of accessory devices together are mounted rotatably respectively a plane vertical to an optical axis and a plane parallel with the optical axis above a stage. The holding means are mounted so as to be movable in parallel with the optical axis by a manual operation.

A light source unit for an endoscope is provided with a light-emitting element and a light receiving element which are provided in an eyepiece section of an endoscope. The light-emitting element is supplied with current modified by a specific frequency from an oscillating circuit and produces a light-intensity modulated light. An output signal from the light receiving element is supplied to a filter circuit and a signal of the specific frequency component is taken out from the filter circuit to be compared with a reference voltage in a Schmidt circuit. When an operator approaches to the light receiving element and enters a range within a predetermined distance from the light receiving element, a light intensity of the light which is emitted from the light emitting element toward the operator, reflected from the operator, and is incident on the light receiving element, becomes large. As a result, a signal level supplied to the Schmidt circuit exceeds a predetermined value. At this time, a signal for turning on a light source is produced from the Schmidt circuit to energize a relay and to close a contact of the relay. Then, electric power is supplied from a power source to the light source to turn on the light source. As a result, an illuminating light is supplied from the light source to a light guide of the endoscope, whereby an area of an objective portion can be observed through an image guide of the endoscope.

Light source unit for an optical apparatus

An illuminating device for use in an ophthalmoscopic photographing apparatus comprising an objective lens system arranged near an eye to be inspected in a main optical viewing path, a photographing lens system arranged in the main optical path for imaging a light pattern reflected from the retina of the eye to be inspected on the surface of a film through the objective lens system, and a light guide arranged the main optical viewing path and an illuminating optical path. The light guide consists of a bundle of optical fibers one end portion of which is so constructed that a plurality of optical fibers uniformly enclose a light passing tube to form a concentric circle or partially enclose the light tube.

Illuminating device for use in a funduscopic apparatus

A screen means free from ghost image comprising a screen and Fresnel lens arranged so that its Fresnel surface faces the screen. The Fresnel lens is arranged that optically inactive surfaces of its Fresnel surface become approximately parallel with the advancing direction of projected rays entered through and refracted by the back surface of the Fresnel lens.

A light source system for use in a lighting device of a microscope comprises an elliptical cylindrical concave reflecting mirror, a linear light emitter arranged at one focus position of the mirror, a cylindrical condenser lens arranged at the opening position of the mirror and a bundle of optical fibers. A part of the end surfaces of the fiber bundle is arranged at the condensing position of the portion of the light from the emitter reflected by the mirror and refracted by the condenser lens. The other part of end surfaces of the fiber bundle is arranged at the condensing position of the portion of the light from the emitter directly refracted by the condenser lens.
