A static apparatus includes an iron core which includes a plurality of magnetic plates stacked in one direction and in which a shaft portion having a main surface and a side surface is formed, and a coil wound around the shaft portion. Slits extending in an axial direction of the shaft portion are formed in at least a surface layer magnetic plate constituting the main surface, of the plurality of magnetic plates. Some of the slits are formed in the main surface, at an end portion close to the side surface, at a predetermined formation density. The formation density of the slits is highest at the predetermined formation density, and is reduced as at least one of a minimum distance from the side surface within the main surface and a distance from the main surface on a side close to the slits in the stacking direction is increased.

Static apparatus

An electromagnetic shield includes a plurality of magnetic thin plates stacked on each other, a pair of metal plates sandwiching the plurality of magnetic thin plates, and a plurality of seat plates each connected to the pair of metal plates. The plurality of seat plates are disposed at positions where the total sum of a leakage flux interlinked with a region between mutually adjacent first and second seat plates among the plurality of seat plates is equal to zero. Preferably, a distance between the first and second seat plates is equal to a value which is an integral multiple of a half period of the distribution of the leakage flux.

Transformer

A transformer includes a leg iron core including a plurality of magnetic sheets stacked in one direction (Z axis direction), and a coil wound around the leg iron core. A slit is formed in at least a magnetic sheet which faces an inner peripheral surface of the coil in a stacking direction of the plurality of magnetic sheets, of the plurality of magnetic sheets. Since eddy current is divided by the slit, eddy current density can be reduced. By reducing the eddy current density, loss density in an iron core can be reduced. By reducing the loss density in the iron core, loss in the transformer can be reduced.

A process for continuously preparing methyl tertiary-butyl ether with high yield involves reacting an isobutylene-containing/hydrocarbon and methanol by continuously passing the isobutylene and methanol, in a molar ratio of isobutylene to methanol of 1 to 0.6-1.4 at a temperature of 60.degree.-100.degree. C. at a liquid space velocity of 0.1-50 l/hour and at a pressure of 1-50 atmospheres, through a first reactor filled with strong acid type cation exchange resin particles having an average particle diameter of 0.2-10 mm; dividing the mixture of the reaction products in two streams, the flow rate of the first stream being 3-15 times the flow rate of the second stream; recycling the first stream to the first reactor; passing the second stream, at a temperature of 20.degree.-55.degree. C. at a liquid space velocity of 0.1-50 l/hour and at a pressure of 1-50 atmospheres, through a second reactor filled with strong acid type cation exchange resin particles having an average particle diameter of 0.2-10 mm; passing the stream from the second reactor through a fixed bed filled with a water-insoluble solid particulate acid neutralizing agent having an average particle diameter of 0.1-10 mm at a temperature of about 0.degree.-55.degree. C.; passing the resulting reaction mixture into a flashing tower whereby the unreacted hydrocarbon is removed; and recovering a mixture containing MTBE from the bottom of the flashing tower.

In a process for producing coproporphyrin III which comprises cultivating a coproporphyrin III-producing microorganism of the genus Arthrobacter in a culture medium containing a carbon source, a nitrogen source and a mineral and recovering coproporphyrin III from the culture broth, the improvement wherein the culture medium contains at least 0.1 g, per liter of the culture medium, of L-cystine, at leas 0.5 g, per liter of the culture medium, of Mg.sup.++, or both; and coproporphyrin III-producing microoganisms.
