A vehicular structural element that includes: a plurality of elongated tube-shaped members; and a retaining member that retains the plurality of elongated tube-shaped members, such that they are disposed alongside each other in a circumferential direction with respect to a predetermined central axis. A tubular assembly configured by an assembly of the plurality of elongated tube-shaped members has inner locations disposed at an inner region viewed along an axial direction set with a lower rigidity in the axial direction than outer locations disposed at an outer region viewed along the axial direction.

A vehicle body structure of the present invention includes an elastic base frame formed in a ring shape; and three elastic upper frames each formed in a ring shape, the three upper frames being disposed on the base frame so as to configure a tetrahedron with the base frame, the three upper frames being connected to the base frame, and the upper frames that are adjacent to each other in a peripheral direction of the base frame being connected to each other. The safety device () for a vehicle has colliding body receiving sections (), and opposite longitudinal ends of each colliding body receiving section () are bent to form legs () having ends (A). The ends (A) are fixed to side frames () on the vehicle body side to form impact absorption members (). The safety device () is adapted so that, while supporting a collision load, the impact absorption members () are displaced to absorb collision energy of the colliding body. The impact absorption members () can produce displacement regions that acts against an increase in the displacement in the direction of collision to suppress an increase in supporting load.
