A roller bearing cage is disclosed, which is provided inexpensively from basic minimum quantity of row material. The roller bearing cage is made with a production method using rolling operations, which is the absence of the formation of chips, while ensuring the strength and stiffness of the cage. A circular inside surface of the cage is made to give an advantage to the rolling operations. The circular inside surface is circularly recessed to have a concaved surface of just one radius of curvature R. A diametral dimension across diametrically opposing bottoms of the circular recess is made larger than the pitch circle distance P.C.D. Pillars of the cage have inside retainer lips, which are hard to make any engagement with their associated rollers, which might worsen the engine performance.

Roller bearing cage and method of producing the same

A ball-stud joint having a flange on a stud thereof, the flange having a sloping side for making it easy to locate centrally the stud relatively to a lower die jig. The ball stud is comprised of a ball fit for pivoting movement into a major body, a stud having a plain end adapted to be formed into a rivet head to joint the stud with any counterpart, and a flange formed integrally around the stud to provide a surface coming into abutment against the counterpart. The flange has a sloping side extending radially outwardly from a flat surface facing on to the ball to an outside periphery of the flange in such a way that the sloping side comes into engagement with a slantwise bearing area on a lower die jig when the plain end of the stud is formed into rivet head.

Joint

A roller bearing cage is disclosed in which a pair of semicircular cage halves is assembled with their mating ends thereof coming into abutment against each other. The mating ends are chamfered off to stave off bearing failure resulting from any deformation that might occur at the areas nearby the mating ends owing to large centrifugal force imposed by high-speed engines. The roller bearing cage may be completed by only joining together the semicircular cage halves with their diametral mating ends coming into engagement with one another. Each of the semicircular cage halves is composed of axially opposing semicircular rims and cage bars interposed between the rims, thus helping ensure stiffness with even weighing less. The chamfering operation is done to make even any outer peripheral areas nearby the mating ends, preparatory to cutoff operation to split a cylindrical cage stock into two halves. This helps the process management of material-removal work to make the chamfered even areas.

Roller bearing cage

A roller bearing cage having load capacity large enough to bear severe conditions imposed by high-speed engines, with even lighter in weight. In the roller bearing cage, the cage bars are each made up of axially opposite thick ends and a slim mid-area lying midway the thick ends to define a recess between them. The cage bar has radially outside projections on an outside periphery thereof while radially inside projections on an inside periphery thereof to keep the rollers against escape out of the cage. The radially inside projections extend circumferentially of the cage, especially, at a circular edge of the thick end, which lies nearby or neighboring or closer to the recess. The radially inside projections are made by forcing material at the edge to move circumferentially by plastic flow into the projections that extend circumferentially towards pockets on a radially inside circular surface of the thick end.

Roller and cage assembly

Firstly, a roller and cage assembly is disclosed that achieves improved lubricating property while maintaining or increasing rigidity. While concave portions are formed so as to extend the width of the central portion of pockets to allow these to act as oil grooves, on the other hand, padding equivalent to lightening holes that are removed by providing said concave portions is performed in columns to obtain high rigidity. Secondly, a roller and cage assembly is disclosed that together with being inexpensive and having high wear resistance, suppresses the generation of heat resulting from high-speed rotation. The above-mentioned effects are obtained by forming a composite plated film at prescribed sites by uniform dispersed coprecipitation of fine particles of fluororesin. Thirdly, a roller and cage assembly is disclosed that together with suppressing the generation of heat resulting from high-speed rotation, also achieves light weight. The above-mentioned effects are obtained by using ceramic rollers.

A cage and roller type roller bearing is provided. The bearing generally include a cylindrical cage and a plurality of rollers which are maintained in position by the cage. The cage includes a pair of circumferential sections and a plurality of axial sections extending between the pair of circumferential sections and spaced apart at a predetermined pitch in the circumferential direction to thereby define a plurality of windows each receiving therein a corresponding roller rotatably and generally rectangular in shape and somewhat larger in size than the roller. Each of the axial sections has its central inner portion of its inner surface removed to define an inner recess so that the axial section is divided into a relatively thin central portion and a pair of relatively thick end portions. In the preferred embodiment, the relatively thick end portion is calked to define a pair of inner and outer roller holding projections and a pair of inner and outer grooves at the inner and outer peripheral surfaces thereof, respectively. These inner and outer roller holding projections defined by calking serve to prevent the roller from slipping away from the corresponding window, and the inner and outer grooves serve as oil pockets for reserving a quantity of lubricant therein.

There is a holding device of a rolling bearing for rectilinear motion in which a plurality of rolling members such as balls or rollers are rectilinearly arranged at regular intervals in track grooves or track surfaces. This holding device has a rectangular plate-like shape made of a plastic material. Many windows are formed at regular intervals in the longitudinal direction of the holding device. Each window is formed so as to have the relation of S&lt;L&lt;D&lt;E (where, S and L are outside diameters on both sides of the window and E is an inside diameter thereof and D is a diameter of each ball). The outside diameter of the adjacent windows in the same side surface of the holding device differ. This holding device is manufactured by injecting and molding a plastic material into the rectangular molding die at high pressure and high temperature. In this case, many barrel-shaped window pins are disposed in the cavity of the die at regular intervals in its longitudinal direction. Thereafter, the window pins which are adjacent to one another are alternately pulled out one or two at a time in the opposite directions. With this method, an economical holding device having small slide friction and resistance can be easily manufactured. Also, the balls or rollers are difficult to drop out of the holding device.

There is a holding device of a rolling bearing for rectilinear motion in which a plurality of rolling members such as balls or rollers are rectilinearly arranged at regular intervals in track grooves or track surfaces. This holding device has a rectangular plate-like shape made of a plastic material. Many windows are formed at regular intervals in the longitudinal direction of the holding device. Each window is formed so as to have the relation of S&lt;L&lt;D&lt;E (where, S and L are outside diameters on both sides of the window and E is an inside diameter thereof and D is a diameter of each ball). The outside diameter of the adjacent windows in the same side surface of the holding device differ. This holding device is manufactured by injecting and molding a plastic material into the rectangular molding die at high pressure and high temperature. In this case, many barrel-shaped window pins are disposed in the cavity of the die at regular intervals in its longitudinal direction. Thereafter, the window pins are alternately pulled out one or two at a time in the opposite directions. With this method, an economical holding device having small slide friction and resistance can be easily manufactured. Also, the balls or rollers are difficult to drop out of the holding device.

Holding device of rolling bearing for rectilinear motion

A structure for mounting an attachment member to a linear motion rolling contact bearing assembly including a bed, a table and a plurality of rolling members interposed between the bed and the table thereby providing a relative motion between the table and the bed. The mounting structure includes an alignment hole defined in the bed or table, a mounting hole defined in the attachment member, a counter member provided with a threaded hole and a bolt extending through the aligned mounting and alignment holes to be threaded into the threaded hole of the counter member with its head in engagement with the attachment member. In the preferred embodiment, the counter member has a contact surface which is substantially the same as and located opposite to a contact surface of the attachment member. In another form, the counter member may be located as sandwiched between the attachment member and the table or bed, in which case the bolt extends through the holes of the table or bed and the counter member to be threaded into the threaded hole of the attachment member.

A linear motion roller bearing for allowing an object such as a slider to move along a straight line defined, for example, by a track rail includes an endless path and a plurality of rollers having substantially the same size in diameter and height, which are arranged in contact in the endless path with their axes of rotation directed as rotated over 90.degree. alternately with respect to the longitudinal axis of the endless path. The endless path includes a pair of straight portions and a pair of semicircularly curved portions each of which connects the corresponding ends of the pair of straight portions. Each of the curved portions is so structured that the maximum number of rollers which can be present therein ranges between (even number +0.1) and (even number +0.5) if the pair of straight portions are not provided on the same horizontal plane and between (integer +0.1) and (integer +0.5) if the pair of straight portions are provided on the same horizontal plane or a plane close thereto.

Roller bearing for linear movement

A linear motion rolling contact bearing assembly includes a trough-shaped bed, a trough-shaped table which straddles the bed, a plurality of balls interposed between the table and the bed for providing a relative motion between the table and the bed along the longitudinal direction of the assembly, and a retainer for retaining the balls in position. The retainer includes an elongated plate provided with a plurality of holding holes for holding the balls in position and at least one side projection which projects sideways from the plate so as to maintain the retainer in its intended position. Preferably, the top and bottom side projections are provided on both sides of the plate so that the retainer has an I-shaped cross section. The retainer is also preferably provided with one or more tabs provided around each of the holding holes so as to securely hold the balls in position. The side projections may be provided also in the form of a plurality of dots.
