A method for manufacturing a cylindrical honeycomb fired body including: preparing a cylindrical honeycomb formed body; obtaining a cylindrical honeycomb dried body by drying the cylindrical honeycomb formed body; calculating predetermined parameters (E, E, Eand E) from average values of distance between a center of gravity position O and an outer peripheral contour in a plurality of predetermined angle ranges; specifying a minimum value of the predetermined parameters; obtaining a cylindrical honeycomb fired body by placing the cylindrical honeycomb dried body on a shelf plate and firing it while passing it through a continuous firing furnace, such that the direction in which the cells of the cylindrical honeycomb dried body extend vertically, and a particular location on the outer peripheral side surface determined according to the minimum value is positioned at the front.

Method for manufacturing cylindrical honeycomb fired body

A bearer for bearing a honeycomb green body includes a solid main body provided with a groove in which a concave arc surface extends along one direction; and a single-layer or multi-layer sponge layer attached to the arc surface of the groove. The sponge layer is curved along the arc surface of the groove and has a bearing surface curved along the arc surface.

In a twin-screw extruder including a barrel, which has two screws disposed in parallel in its inside and an opening at one edge, and an extrusion molding die disposed to the opening side of the barrel through a straightening vane and a filter net, the straightening vane includes a first straightening vane and a second straightening vane, the first one has a hole forming region having plural through holes formed in a region whose size and shape are in agreement with the size and the shape of the inner periphery of the opening portion, and the second one has a hole structure whose size and shape of its inner periphery at one opening edge are in agreement with the size and the shape of the hole forming region, and its sectional area is reduced once in a process to the other opening edge and then expanded in a taper shape.
