An image forming apparatus includes a processing tray, a post-processing controller, and a detection sensor. The processing tray is configured to support a sheet or a sheet bundle on which a post-processing is to be executed. The post-processing controller is configured to execute the post-processing on the sheet positioned on the processing tray. The detection sensor is configured to detect an object in a predetermined detection range including a space above the processing tray. The post-processing controller stops execution of the post-processing when the detection sensor detects the object at a determination timing other than a timing at which passage of the sheet or the sheet bundle through the detection range is estimated.

Image forming system and image forming method

A post-processing apparatus includes a post-processing unit configured to receive sheets from an image forming apparatus, perform processing on the received sheets, and then discharge the processed sheets through a discharge port. A sensor is configured to detect a presence of an object at the discharge port. The sensor includes a first light emitter on a first side of the discharge port that is positioned to emit a light across a width of the discharge port, a reflector on a second side of the discharge port opposite the first side in a first direction, and a first light receiver positioned to receive light of the first light emitter from the reflector. A controller is configured to terminate the processing on the received sheets by the post-processing unit when the sensor detects the presence of the object at the discharge port.

A paper feed apparatus comprises a paper feed section, a separation section, a rotating body and a control device. The paper feed section feeds an image receiving medium that is placed. The separation section is arranged at a downstream side of the paper feed section in a conveyance direction of the image receiving medium. If a plurality of the image receiving media fed from the paper feed section is overlapped, the separation section separates the plurality of the image receiving media that is overlapped. The rotating body is arranged at the upstream side of the separation section in the conveyance direction of the image receiving medium. The control device carries out control to rotate the rotating body at least before an operation of the paper feed section.

The pressing member is configured to move into and out of a moving path of the adhesive applying unit. According to an embodiment, a sheet processing apparatus includes a first tray, a second tray, and a pressing member. The pressing member includes a turning shaft, the turning shaft being located on the downstream side of a transport direction of the sheet to the first tray, relative to an end of the upstream side of the sheet supported in the first tray, and when the sheet is moved from the first tray toward the second tray, rotates about the turning shaft. The pressing member rotates about the turning shaft, to press the sheet toward the second tray at a position on the upstream side relative to the turning shaft.

In accordance with an embodiment, a sheet post processing apparatus comprises a processing tray, a gluing section and a control section. Sheets are placed one by one in the processing tray. The gluing section enables glue to be adhered to the glue binding margin part of the sheets already placed in the processing tray. The control section includes a glue supply mode for supplying glue parts in such a manner that a glue part, which is different from a waiting glue part waiting for a next gluing when the previous glue binding is ended, is supplied to a glue adhering section of a first sheet for gluing with a second sheet through the gluing section.

Sheet post processing apparatus

In accordance with one embodiment, a sheet binding apparatus comprises a pasting section and a control section. The pasting section is capable of selectively carrying out pasting processing on at least one of a plurality of different given pasting target areas on sheets to be pasted. The control section controls the execution of the pasting processing based on the pasting section so that pasting target areas of a first sheet and a second sheet other than the first sheet within a plurality of sheets to be subjected to binding processing are different.
