A vehicle ventilation duct includes a duct body, a conduit, a sound absorption chamber, a transmission opening communicating the conduit with the sound absorption chamber, and an air-permeable member closing the transmission opening permeably. The duct body is disposed in a vehicle outer hull, and includes a frame having a ventilation opening opened to the outside of a vehicle and a valve element covering the ventilation opening openably and closably. The conduit is formed integrally with or independently of the duct body, is disposed on a vehicle-passenger-room side of the duct body, is communicated with the ventilation opening of the duct body, and is communicated with the inside of a vehicle passenger room, whereby enabling air inside and outside the vehicle to pass therethrough back and forth. Thus, the ventilation duct lets out air in the vehicle passenger room to the outside of the vehicle or vice versa.

Ventilation duct for vehicles

A ventilation device has a duct main body, a valve body, and pairs of widened portions. The duct main body has an opening. The duct main body has an upper edge defining a part of the opening. A plurality of insertion slots are formed in and along the upper edge. The valve body has a plurality of substantially triangular engaging pieces provided at an upper end of the valve body. Each engaging piece is inserted in one of the insertion slots, such that the valve body is hung by the duct body to be capable of opening and closing the opening. Each pair of the widened portions is provided at side sections of one of the insertion slots. When the engaging pieces are being inserted in the insertion slots, each pair of the widened portions permit the corresponding engaging piece to be deformed.

Ventilation device

A garnish light alloy wheel includes a light alloy wheel and a garnish. The light alloy wheel includes an outboard surface and a recess located at a portion of the light alloy wheel including a spoke portion. The recess recedes from the outboard surface of the light alloy wheel. The garnish is manufactured separately from the light alloy wheel and is exchangeably mounted to the light alloy wheel at the recess. The light alloy wheel and the garnish construct a design surface of the garnish light alloy wheel, and the garnish has an outboard surface constructing a portion of the design surface of the garnish light alloy wheel.

A method for producing a resin-molded article having openings which is free from a weld at a conjunction portion of synthetic resin flows and which exhibits excellent surface appearance and satisfactory strength provides a resin-molded article. This method includes injection-molding synthetic resin by using a mold, wherein the mold has a cavity which as projections for forming openings, projection-side peripheral portions surrounding the projections and a flow-rate changing means for making the flow rate of the injected synthetic resin different at each sides of each projection, and wherein the synthetic resin is injected into the cavity of the mold through a resin-injection opening.

Resin molded article having opening and method for producing the same

A damping resin composition contains: 100 parts by weight of a polymer blend of 40 to 70% by weight of a polypropylene resin and 30 to 60% by weight of a thermoplastic elastomer; and 5 to 60 parts by weight of an inorganic filler, the thermoplastic elastomer comprising at least one member selected from the group consisting of an elastomer having a Tg of 0&deg; C. to 20&deg; C. and an elastomer having a Tg of &minus;20&deg; C. to 0&deg; C. and an ethylene-&agr;-olefin copolymer. Using this damping resin compostion, a vehicle rocker-panel molding, which is attached to the lower part of a vehicle side body is molded. The rocker-panel molding has a bottom section and a side section substantially perpendicular to the bottom section and having prescribed rigidity, showing a nearly L-shaped crosswise profile, in which the bottom section is thinner than the side section so that vibration energy generated on foreign matter's striking against the rocker-panel molding is forcibly converted to heat energy by the thinner bottom section thereby to suppress transmission of noise to the space of the automobile.

Damping resin composition and molded article using the same

A holding part of a cowl inner panel is disposed below a hood seal part of a cowl louver main body away therefrom by a predetermined distance, and the hood seal part is deformed by the impact force of a predetermined size or larger from the hood panel so as to reduce the deformation load on the hood panel. In the case impact force of a predetermined size or larger is applied on the hood panel, the impact force is transmitted to the hood seal part so that the hood seal part is deformed. Accordingly, the hood panel can be deformed drastically so that the impact to be applied from the hood panel onto the opposite party of the collision can be alleviated. Further, both end parts of a seal main body made from an elastic soft material, having a substantially U-shaped cross-section is fixed with a cowl louver and a flat plate part, respectively as well as the cowl louver and the flat plate part are fixed on the car body directly or indirectly. Since spread of the opening of the seal main body is limited, the restoration force can be realized by both effect of the shape and material in the case the seal main body is contacted with a hood with pressure. Therefore, even in the case heat deterioration is generated, a high sealing property can be maintained owing to the restoration force by the effect of the shape.

Assembly structure for cowl louver

A method for molding an end of a long resin molded article that is obtained by extrusion molding and has a design surface and an attachment surface extended in a longitudinal direction of the long resin molded article, and the attachment surface is attached to other parts. An end portion of the long resin molded article is heated so as to soften the end portion of the long resin molded article. The design surface of the heated end portion is pressed so as to stretch resin on a side of the design surface thereby forming an inclined surface on the end portion, whereby the end portion is inclined from the design surface at the end portion to said attachment surface at the end portion along said inclined surface. The attachment surface of the heated end portion is pressed so as to form a cavity on the attachment surface and stretch resin on a side of the attachment surface. In the processing, the resin on the design surface side is stretched to a substantially equal degree to the resin on the attachment surface side.

Method for molding an end of a long resin molded article

A sandwich molded article comprising a thick skin or outer layer, a thin skin or outer layer, and a core layer surrounded by these skins or outer layers. A process for producing said sandwich molded article by the use of a mold(s) which comprises adjusting the temperature of an inner surface of the mold corresponding to a skin portion of the molding desired to be made thick, to a temperature lower than that of an inner surface of the mold corresponding to a skin portion of the molding desired to be made thin; injecting a skin material in a softened state into the mold; and then injecting a core layer material in a softened state into the skin material. According to the present invention, there can be obtained a sandwich molded article having a core layer from which the distances to the obverse and the reverse of the molded article are different. This molded article can be given a satisfactory decorative surface and has deformation-preventing ability.

Process for producing a sandwich molded article

A method of molding a hollow body to make the body nearly uniform in thickness around an internal opening thereof. A weir is provided in a central part of an opening portion of the mold cavity near an upstream side of the opening portion with respect to the direction of flow of a resin. Molten resin is injected into the cavity, and pressurized gas is thereafter injected into the molten resin in the cavity to make the internal opening in the resin. Since the weir is provided, the resin comes into uniform contact with the inner mold surface of the die at the opening portion as the resin flows into opening portion. The resin is uniformly cooled and solidified, starting with the inner surface and working inwardly, so that the hollow body is made nearly uniform in thickness around the internal opening.

Molded resin body and method for producing the same

A orifice passage for introducing excessive resin into a disposal tab forming cavity is provided at one end of a main cavity in a mold for sandwich molding. The section of the orifice passage is thinner in the central portion than in the opposite sides thereof. A thermoplastic elastomer for forming an outer layer of the molding is injected into the main cavity and then talc-containing polypropylene for forming the core of the molding is injected. The flow rate of the resins flowing through the orifice passage at this time becomes substantially uniform over the entirety of the section. Therefore, the talc-containing polypropylene sufficiently extends toward the opposite sides of the main cavity.

Method of producing molding

A mold for making a double layer molded product, such as a molded product of sandwich construction or a hollow molded product having a dam within the mold cavity adjacent its gate. The dam projects in a direction transverse to that in which the inner-forming material is injected, and a gap is defined between the dam and the walls of the cavity. With this configuration, the core thickness of the molded product of sandwich construction, or the skin thickness of the hollow molded product, are made uniform.
