A paper magazine includes a shaft portion for rotatably supporting a paper roll inside a box-like frame, a paper transporting system configured for pinching a paper drawn out of the paper roll supported on the shaft portion by transport rollers and delivering this paper through an opening formed in the frame, and a transmission mechanism for effecting the delivery and rewinding of the paper through the opening by transmitting a forward drive force and a reverse drive force to the transport rollers. A guide member is provided on an inner wall face of the frame disposed at a lower portion inside the paper magazine. The guide member is configured for coming into contact with a terminal end of the paper delivered from the paper magazine which end assumes a hanging-down posture as a result of a paper rewinding operation effected after detachment of the terminal end from said shaft portion as a result of a paper delivering operation effected with the paper magazine being set under a predetermined posture.

A roller carrying mechanism and photographic processing device is presented where pressing rollers are shiftable between a press-contact position at which the pressing rollers are rotated as follows while sandwiching the photographic paper between the driving rollers and a press-contact releasing position at which the pressing rollers are disposed away from the driving rollers . Since a belt having a circular cross section is extended between the pulleys , even when only one of two pressing rollers is at the press-contact position and is rotated in an interlocking manner with one pressing roller. Accordingly, an impact which is applied to the photographic paper when the pressing roller is brought into contact with the photographic paper can be made small.

Roller carrying mechanism and photographic processing device

A film developing process automatically conveys film to a film developing section. When a cartridge conveyed intermittently by a cartridge conveying device is conveyed to a first stop position, a tapered tongue drawing device is actuated to draw an end portion of a film strip out of the cartridge. At a second stop position, a cutting device and a punching device are operated to cut the tapered tongue and form coupling holes on the end portion of the film strip respectively. At a third stop position, a reinforcing label is applied to the end portion of the film strip by a label sticking device. At fourth and fifth stop positions, the end portions of the film strips are coupled with a leader sheet which has been conveyed and stopped at the other side of the fourth and fifth stop positions. The cartridges are then conveyed together with the leader sheet into the film developing section. Between the film developing section and the printing section a leader sheet guide is installed in which is formed a leader sheet guide path. A leader sheet sent out from the film developing section is sent into a leader sheet supporter and when the leader sheet stops, the leader sheet and film strips are released from their coupling. The leader sheet guide is then moved to second and third stop positions where the film strips are sent into a film path of the printing section.

Photographic film processing apparatus including a film supplying

A film feeding apparatus includes a roller pair for pinching a film stored and wound within a film container or its leader, and a restricting passage for restricting a posture of a non-pinched portion of the film or its leader. The roller pair is disposed in such a manner that the film or its leader is entrained about one roller of the roller pair in an arcuate form toward an upstream side in a film feeding direction relative to a pinching position of the roller pair. With driving rotation of the roller pair pinching the film or its leader, the film is withdrawn from the film container held at a holding portion to be fed to a film processing section. The restricting passage is curved along an entraining passage of the roller for the film or its leader as the restricting passage is viewed in a direction of an axis of the roller.

Film feeding apparatus

There is a splicer bed 1 having a leader support 3 arranged on the top thereof. One opening 6 is provided in one end of the leader support 3. A knife mounting base 7 is arranged to project from the opening 6 and provided at one end with a cartridge holder 8. The knife mounting base 7 also has a leader positioning head 10 provided on the other end thereof for determining the position of a leader L. A stationary knife 11 is mounted to the leader positioning head 10. A movable knife 12 is mounted for pivotal movement to the stationary knife 11. A film holddown plate 17 is pivotably mounted to the knife mounting base 7. The knife mounting base 7 is also provided with a pair of punches 28 which are arranged slidable and can be lowered by the film holddown plate 17. In action, before the leading portion of a film F drawn out from a film cartridge P loaded in the cartridge holder 8 is held under the film holddown plate 17, the downward movement of the film holddown plate 17 causes the punches 28 to cut two notches in both side edges of the film F. The leading portion of the film F is trimmed by the downward action of the movable knife 12 and then joined by a strip of splicing tape to the leader L placed on the leader support 3.

Joint assembly of a leader and a film and splicer for making the same

An apparatus for recovering film containers is disclosed. The apparatus includes a separating device for withdrawing a film stored in a wound state within a film container held at a holding portion from the film container and then separating the film from the film container and a recovering section for recovering into a collecting section the film container from which the film has been separated. According to the spirit of the invention, the recovering section includes a classifying device for classifying the film container according to the type and a plurality of collecting sections for collecting a plurality of film containers type-classified by the classifying device separately from each other according to the type.

Apparatus for recovering film containers

A film container handling apparatus for handling a film container (51) including a film entrance/exit opening (61) which is selectable between a first condition providing an opening and a second condition providing a larger opening. The apparatus includes a holding portion (12a) for holding the film container. The apparatus further includes opening levers (82) and a first cam member (87a) for switching over the film entrance/exit opening (61) of the film container (51) as held at the holding portion (12a) from the first condition to the second condition, and a discharging plate (92) and a second cam member (87b) for discharging the film container (51) from the film holding portion (12a) after the film (47b) has been removed from the film container (51) under the second condition.

Film container handling apparatus

A splicer bed has a leader support on a top thereof. An opening is provided in one end of the leader support. A knife mounting base is arranged to project from the opening and is provided at one end with a cartridge holder. The knife mounting base has a leader positioning head provided on the other end thereof for determining the position of a leader. A stationary knife is mounted to the leader positioning head. A movable knife is mounted for pivotal movement to the stationary knife. A film holddown plate is pivotably mounted to the knife mounting base. The knife mounting base is provided with a pair of punches which are arranged slidably and can be lowered by the film holddown plate. Before the leading portion of a film is drawn out from a film cartridge loaded in the cartridge holder is held under the film holddown plate, the downward movement of the film holddown plate causes the punches to cut two notches in both side edges of the film. The leading portion of the film is trimmed by the downward action of the movable knife and then is joined by a strip of splicing tape to the leader placed on the leader support.

A splicing table which can distinguish the kind of a film to be processed, cut the film, and connect a leader to the film. The splicing table has a recess for receiving a patrone, a film presser, and a splicing portion for connecting a leader to the cut end of the film. Under the splicing table are a bar code reader for judging whether or not the film can be developed, and a solenoid for restricting the operation of the cutter unit based on the result of judgment by the bar code reader.

Various arrangements are proposed for coupling films to a leader. A hole is formed in one of the films and the leader to receive a tab which is formed on the other. These arrangements allow stable coupling of the films to the leader and easy uncoupling. They eliminate the use of splice tape.

Arrangement for coupling films to leader

The leader attached to a web of film is cut from the film while processing the film in a photographic processing machine. Before feeding the film to the printing unit, the leader is separated from the film. At a turning point where the film feed direction extending from the film drying unit to the printing unit changes, the film is fed straight ahead and the leader is cut off the film by a cutter. The film is fed back in a reverse direction and its end is turned up by a guide. When the printing unit gets vacant, the film without the leader is fed into the printing unit.

Method and means for separating leader from film in photographic

The films are developed and printed continuously and automatically even if the film feed direction in the film processor and the one in the printer are not in the same vertical plane. A film stocking unit is provided downstream of the film driving unit. The film stocking unit is movable to a position aligned with the film feed path extending to the printing unit. This increases the freedom or flexibility in arranging the film processor and the printer.
