To provide an optical fiber cord with an optical connector of higher flexibility resistance, and the method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. An optical fiber cord with an optical connector, wherein said fiber cord, wherein said the optical connector comprising a stop ring having a through hole formed therein, though which said optical fiber is disposed; a crimping ring being disposed around said optical fiber to crimp said stop ring and said optical fiber cord; a ferrule being disposed at the tip end part of said optical fiber in said optical fiber cord; a spring being disposed around said optical fiber and between said ferrule and said stop ring; a plug frame being engaged with said stop ring; a grip being engaged with said plug frame; wherein said through hole of said stop ring having a stepwisely narrowing part in which a hole diameter is gradually reduced from said crimping part side to said ferrule side.

To provide an optical connector kit in which all connector parts contained in a containing case, wherein said connector parts includes a ferrule equipped with an optical fiber employed, in which a short length optical fiber is fixed to the ferrule and the ferrule is subjected to polishing at the terminal end thereof in advance. The optical connector kit, wherein said kit comprises a ferrule with an optical fiber comprising a short length optical fiber which has been fixed to the ferrule in advance, in which the ferrule is subjected to polishing treatment at the terminal surface thereof; a plurality of connector parts which are passed through said optical fiber before the rear end of said short length optical fiber and the front end of another optical fiber are subjected to fusion splice each other; and a containing case for receiving all connector parts constructing an optical connector including said ferrule with the optical fiber and said passing parts. Said containing case can hold one part of said connector parts while in the condition where the other part of said connector parts used to said fusion splice including said ferrule with the optical fiber and said passing parts can be taken out of said case.

Optical connector kit

An optical connector kit includes a ferrule-with-optical-fiber and an accommodating housing for accommodating all connector parts constituting an optical connector, including the ferrule-with-optical-fiber. An optical fiber having a predetermined length is attached to the ferrule of the ferrule-with-optical-fibers, for which end face polishing processing is carried out. The connector parts include a plurality of connector parts into which another optical fiber is inserted when the rear end of the optical fiber of the ferrule-with-optical-fiber and the tip end of another optical fiber are fusion-spliced. In the accommodating housing, the connector parts are arranged in a line in the order of insertion of another optical fiber.

To provide a fusion-spliced optical connector capable of easily performing a fusion-splicing operation at an actual site in a short time, without need to perform additional special operations. An optical connector component is configured to attach a short-length optical fiber to a ferrule including a capillary and a flange. The capillary comprises a minute through hole and a coated-portion storage hole formed in the capillary, the minute through hole to be stored therein the bare optical fiber portion of the short-length optical fiber and the coated-portion storage hole to be stored therein a part of a coated optical fiber portion of the short-length optical fiber continuous to the bare optical fiber portion. The flange includes a coated-portion penetrating hole formed in the flange to be penetrated therein a very short portion continuous to the part of the coated optical fiber portion stored in the coated-portion storage hole. The short-length optical fiber extends rearward from the coated-portion penetrating hole of the flange by a length of a required extra-length splice portion when the bare optical fiber portion is fixedly stored in the minute through hole of the capillary and the part of the coated optical fiber portion continuous to the bare optical fiber portion is fixedly stored in the coated-portion storage hole of the capillary.
