A lap-belt pre-tensioner operative to draw in a lap belt is disposed on an upper face of a projecting portion so as to extend in a longitudinal direction of a vehicle from an disposition portion of a lower support member, and on the upper face of the projecting portion is provided a groove portion so as to accommodate the lap-belt pre-tensioner in such a manner that the lap-belt pre-tensioner substantially does not project into an ingress-egress opening. Accordingly, there can be provided an occupant protection device of a vehicle equipped with a slide door in which the lap-belt pre-tensioner does not project into the ingress-egress opening.

A seat belt device for a central portion of a rearmost row seat includes a retractor. The retractor is attached at a vehicle roof above a central passenger on the central seat portion of the rear row seat. More specifically, a pair of left and right roof rails are interconnected by a first reinforcement extending in a vehicle width direction before the central passenger, and the first reinforcement and a rear header are interconnected by a second reinforcement extending in a longitudinal direction. A retractor is attached at the first reinforcement. A seat belt withdrawn from the retractor is disposed so as to extend via a seat belt anchor disposed in the rear header.

A structure of an armrest protruding and extending toward a passenger from an inside wall of a vehicle compartment, comprises a trim body portion covering the inside wall, an armrest face portion extending in a substantially horizontal direction from the trim body portion toward an inside, and a support face portion extending continuously from the armrest face portion downward. There is provided a weak portion (deformation promoting portion) between the trim body portion and the armrest face portion to promote deformation with respect to a lateral load. Further, there is provided a garnish covering the weak portion from the vehicle compartment. Accordingly, both sufficient resistance of the armrest in use for the load applied in the vertical direction and proper impact-absorption function of the armrest during the vehicle side collision can be obtained.

An automotive vehicle has a rear header disposed at a rear end of the roof and above a rear seat. For example, in the event where the automotive vehicle is about to roll, the seat back of the rear seat is leaned forwards and the upper end portion of the seat back is leaned forwards, thereby forcibly repositioning the head of the rear passenger seated on the rear seat to the position remoter from the back window panel.

A sliding roof structure for an automobile body including a roof panel formed with a roof opening defined by a downwardly bent peripheral flange, a roof side rail formed at each side of the roof panel, a reinforcement member of an inverted channel shape having a downwardly extending inboard flange, a substantially horizontal top wall and a downwardly extending outboard flange. The reinforcement member is attached at the inboard flange with the peripheral flange of the roof panel and a sliding roof carrying frame is attached to the roof side rails through brackets. The reinforcement member has locating pins downwardly extending for engagement with locating holes in the frame.
