An inter-vehicle communication system includes: multiple vehicle communication devices for multiple vehicles; and a wireless base station. Each of the multiple vehicle communication devices includes a wide area communication portion that communicates with a different device, a wide area communication control portion that executes a wide area periodic transmission process of multicasting a vehicle information packet towards a different vehicle, a narrow area communication portion, and a narrow area communication control portion that executes a narrow area periodic transmission process of multicasting the vehicle information packet towards the different vehicle. The wide area communication control portion transmits a vehicle status report to the wireless base station. The wide area communication control portion pauses the wide area periodic transmission process. The wireless base station includes an in-cell vehicle management portion that manages position information of a vehicle existing in a charge cell, an encounter determination portion that determines whether a transmission source vehicle has a possibility of encountering the different vehicle, and a device control portion that instructs a transmission source device to pause the wide area periodic transmission process.

Inter-vehicle communication system and vehicle communication device

A vehicular communication control device includes: a communication packet generator generating a vehicle information packet indicating a vehicle traveling state; a transmission processor transmitting the vehicle information packet to a peripheral vehicle in a predetermined transmission cycle; a road information acquisition unit acquiring forward road information including a road connection point position at which a host vehicle traveling road is connected to another road; and a positional relationship determination unit determining, based on the forward road information, whether a remaining distance to the road connection point is equal to or smaller than a predetermined cycle change distance. The transmission processor: sets a predetermined first cycle as the transmission cycle when the remaining distance is larger than the predetermined cycle change distance; and sets a second cycle shorter than the first cycle as the transmission cycle when the remaining distance is equal to or smaller than the cycle change distance.

Communication control device

A system for communication between mobile bodies includes: a mobile body transmission device that is used for a first mobile body and transmits first mobile information; and a mobile body reception device that is used for a second mobile body and receives the first mobile information. The mobile body transmission device includes: an indirect transmitter that transmits information via a base station; a direct transmitter that transmits information according to direct transmission; and a transmission controller that controls the indirect transmitter and the direct transmitter to transmit an identical first mobile information. The mobile body reception device includes: an indirect receiver that receives the first mobile information transmitted by the indirect transmitter via the base station; and a direct receiver that directly receives the first mobile information transmitted by the direct transmitter.

A vehicular communication control device includes: a short range communication processor executing a direct vehicle-to-vehicle communication; a wide area communication processor executing an indirect vehicle-to-vehicle communication; a vehicle data generator; and a communication quality determination unit determining a communication quality of the direct vehicle-to-vehicle communication. The short range communication processor wirelessly transmits a communication packet including vehicle data in a predetermined short range transmission cycle. The wide area communication processor: transmits the communication packet including the vehicle data to the peripheral vehicle in a predetermined wide range transmission cycle; selects a predetermined first wide area transmission cycle longer than the short range transmission cycle when the communication quality is equal to or higher than the permissible level; and selects a predetermined second wide area transmission cycle equal to or smaller than the short range transmission cycle when the communication quality is lower than the permissible level.

A vehicular communication control device includes: a dedicated short range communication processor executing a direct vehicle-to-vehicle communication; a wide area communication processor executing an indirect vehicle-to-vehicle communication; a vehicle data generator, and a peripheral vehicle determination unit determining whether another vehicle is disposed within a predetermined area. The dedicated short range communication processor wirelessly transmits a communication packet including vehicle data in a dedicated short range transmission cycle. The wide area communication processor transmits the communication packet including the vehicle data to a peripheral vehicle in a wide range transmission cycle. The wide area communication processor: selects a first wide area transmission cycle longer than the dedicated short range transmission cycle when no other vehicle is disposed within the area; and selects a second wide area transmission cycle equal to or shorter than the dedicated short range transmission cycle when the other vehicle is disposed within the area.

A wireless communication apparatus includes a first wireless communication unit performing a first type wireless communication and a second wireless communication unit performing a second type wireless communication, an interference determination portion, and an interference suppression portion. The interference determination portion determines whether the first wireless communication unit is in an interference state based on a radio wave reception state of the first wireless communication unit acquired when the second wireless communication unit is in a transmitting state. In the interference state, radio waves received by the first wireless communication unit are interfered by the radio waves transmitted from the second wireless communication unit. The interference suppression portion executes an interference suppression process in response to the interference state by suppressing the radio waves transmitted from the second wireless communication from interfering with the radio waves received by the first wireless communication unit.

Wireless communication apparatus

An antenna system includes a case, an antenna configured for a first communication system, an inside orthogonal antenna configured for a polarization diversity communication system, and an outside orthogonal antenna configured for the polarization diversity communication system. The antenna for the first communication system and the inside orthogonal antenna are disposed inside the case such that a main radiation polarization plane of the inside orthogonal antenna is orthogonal to a main radiation polarization plane of the antenna for the first communication system. The outside orthogonal antenna is disposed outside the case such that a main radiation polarization plane of the outside orthogonal antenna is orthogonal to the main radiation polarization plane of the inside orthogonal antenna.

Antenna system and antenna unit

A vehicular wireless transmission apparatus includes a memory that stores (i) a default adjustment value relative to a default vehicle model, (ii) a default vehicle model data indicating the default vehicle model, and (iii) a correction value table for correcting the default adjustment value to be compliant with each of different vehicle models different from the default vehicle model. When a host vehicle model data read from a different ECU does not match with the default vehicle model data stored in the memory, it is determined that the vehicular wireless transmission apparatus is presently mounted in a host vehicle model indicated by the host vehicle model data read from the different ECU. The default adjustment value is then corrected by retrieving a correction value corresponding to the host vehicle model data from the correction value table.

Vehicular wireless transmission apparatus adjusting output power according to vehicle

A vehicle-mounted antenna device includes a base, a board, a circuit section, and a housing. The base is mountable on a roof of a vehicle. The board has an antenna element section and is stood on a surface of the base. The circuit section serves as at least part of a wireless communication circuit electrically connected to the antenna element section. The housing is made of a resin material and forms a projection of a vehicle outer shape. The board and the circuit section are located in space formed by the base and the housing. The board is stood on the surface of the base so that a first direction perpendicular to the surface of the base differs from a second direction equal to a thickness direction of the board. The circuit section implemented on the board at a position away from the base in the first direction.

Vehicle-mounted antenna device

An in-vehicle communication apparatus includes an antenna module, and a wireless communication device physically separated from the antenna module and connected to the antenna module through a coaxial cable. The antenna module includes an antenna, and a transmission amplifier of the antenna. The wireless communication device includes a power generation portion that supplies a power driving the antenna module, a signal generation portion that generates a transmission signal, a power superimposition portion that superimposes the transmission signal on the power supplied from the power generation portion, and transmits a superimposed power to the transmission amplifier, a current detection portion that detects a consumption current value from the power, a correspondence relationship hold portion that holds a correspondence relationship between the consumption current value and an output power value, and a regulation portion that adjusts the transmission signal to maintain the output power value at a predetermined power value.

In-vehicle communication apparatus

A vehicle communication apparatus includes an antenna module, a wireless communication device placed and physically separated from the antenna module, a first communication cable and a second communication cable. The antenna module includes a first antenna and a second antenna. The wireless communication device includes a first antenna-connecting sending portion, a second antenna-connecting receiving portion, an adjustment portion, a memory, and a loss amount calculation portion calculating a loss amount by the first communication cable. The adjustment portion adjusts the sending power of the sending wave radiated from the first antenna based on the loss amount calculated by the loss amount calculation portion, and equalizes the sending power with a reference power.

Vehicle communication apparatus

A communication device includes: a reception antenna; a wireless communication element that synchronizes with a reception signal in an electric wave input from the reception antenna, and receives the reception signal; and a wire communication element connected to the wireless communication element and connected to an external communication device via a communication cable so that the wire communication element transmits a signal to the communication cable. The wire communication element determines whether the wireless communication element synchronizes with the reception signal. When the wire communication element determines that the wireless communication element synchronizes with the reception signal, the wire communication element restricts transmitting the signal to the communication cable.

Communication device

A radio communications system includes a communication radio and an antenna module positioned external to the communication radio. An antenna cable connects the radio and the antenna module. The radio superposes a power voltage for operating the antenna module on a signal line of the antenna cable and transmits to the antenna module through the antenna cable a control signal that controls a gain of a transmission amplifier and duplexers while the transmission signal is not transmitted therethrough. In such manner, a control of the antenna module is enabled without affecting the transmission signal.

Radio communication system and method

A wireless communication device including a communication controller, a transmitter, an antenna and a receiver is provided. The wireless communication device further includes a current detector detecting a current consumption value of a power supply generator, a non-volatile memory pre-storing multiple current thresholds corresponding to multiple operating states, and an abnormal oscillation detector detecting abnormal oscillation by comparing the current consumption value acquired from the current detector and a current threshold corresponding to a present operating state of the wireless communication device out of the current threshold stored in the non-volatile memory.
