A front-loading disk player includes a player assembly for playing a disk having been carried thereto; a front panel positioned in front of said player assembly and having a slot for receiving therein either one of a bare disk and a cartridge disk holding a recording disk therein; a cover section for blocking said slot having a through hole; and a lock unit for locking an operation of opening said slot. The lock unit includes a locking assembly for fixing the cover section at a position to close the slot and an unlocking rivet provided into the through hole. The unlocking rivet is configured to move in a same direction in which the cartridge disk is inserted in the slot so as to cause the locking assembly to be released from the cover section.

Front-loading disk player

There is provided a recording reproducing apparatus which is ready for use of recording media different in form and mode. The apparatus is comprised of a mounting member in a rotatable manner toward a clamping position CL, another mounting member arranged in the mounting member in a rotatable manner, cam members for rotating the mounting member , and a cam block for rotating the mounting member . The mounting member mounts thereon a turn table for clamping the recording medium, and an optical pickup , and the mounting member mounts thereon another optical pickup . When an open recording medium DS is inserted, the mounting members are rotated to be horizontal to the clamping position CL, whereby the optical pickup carries out recording or reproduction of information. On the other hand, when a cartridge type recording medium CDS is placed, the mounting member is rotated to be horizontal to the clamping position CL, whereby the optical pickup carries out recording or reproduction of information. During the recording or reproduction, the mounting member is rotated in a direction away from the cartridge type recording medium CDS, to thereby keep the optical pickup from contact with the same.

Recording reproducing apparatus

A front-loading disk player is provided which can pull either a bare disk or a disk mounted in a cartridge into a housing so as to perform an operation of reproducing information thereon. A first carrier unit is moveable from a carrier path of the cartridge disk in association with a carrier of the cartridge disk by a second carrier unit. A cover section has a second slot for only the bare disk therein. The first carrier unit includes a transfer unit for transferring the bare disk, and a holding unit provided on the transfer unit for holding the bare disk on the transfer unit.

Front-loading disk player with separate first and second carrier units

An optical record medium has an information record surface on which a plurality of circular arc tracks are arranged such that centers of the circular arc tracks are arranged in a straight line direction. An apparatus for optically recording and reproducing information onto and from the optical record medium is provided with: a rotatable optical system for emitting a light beam onto the circular arc track of the optical record medium which is being moved straight in the straight line direction, while being rotated with an rotational axis perpendicular to the information record surface; a straight moving device for relatively moving the rotatable optical system and the optical record medium to each other in the straight line direction; a detecting device for detecting a displacement amount from the circular arc track at an irradiated position on the information record surface of the light beam, on the basis of a reflection light from the circular arc track of the light beam, and outputting a displacement amount signal indicating the detected displacement amount; a perpendicularly moving device for relatively moving the optical record medium and the rotatable optical system to each other perpendicularly to the straight line direction such that the irradiated position approaches the circular arc track, on the basis of the outputted displacement amount signal; and a recording and reproducing device for recording and reproducing the information onto and from the optical record medium by use of the light beam emitted to the circular arc track.

Optical information recording and reproducing apparatus

A rotary type pickup apparatus adopting a light modulation system, is capable of over-writing and suitable for miniaturization. In the optical pickup apparatus constituted by a stationary optical part and a rotary optical part which comprises an objective lens and a light beam guiding device, a recording magnet and an initialization auxiliary magnet are provided in the rotary optical part, the recording magnet being disposed close to the objective lens and the initialization auxiliary magnet being positioned over a rotation circumference where the objective lens rotates. Further provided are a recording magnet and an initialization auxiliary magnet which are disposed so as to pinch a magnetooptical recording medium together with the objective lens, the initialization auxiliary magnet being positioned behind the recording magnet in a sending direction of an optical card.
