A polishing apparatus in which one of two workpieces to be polished or abraded which contact each other at respective arcuate or spherical surfaces, is placed on a fixed base and turned or fixed in a horizontal plane with the other workpiece held under pressure by a retainer provided on a gate type frame which can be swung around the center of curvature of the contact surfaces of the two workpieces by a swinging unit capable of varying the range of swinging movement of the gate-type frame. The center of the swinging movement of this frame can be varied by changing the position of two pivot-connected block units vertically in a stepless manner and the position of the retainer to a reference axis can be varied. This enables the apparatus to be applied to workpieces having arbitrary curved surfaces to be polished and of different dimensions.

Curved surface rubbing apparatus

A hydraulic shoe bolt wrench used to mount and remove shoe bolts which secure shoes to a track chain. The apparatus comprises a vertical cylinder stood upright on a frame moving on a work table, a main frame secured to a piston rod of the vertical cylinder, a wrench socket driving shaft vertically projected below the main frame, a low speed high torque motor and a reduction gear provided on the driving shaft. Pressure oil is supplied to the high speed low torque motor and high pressure oil is supplied to the low speed high torque motor. Switching of the high speed low torque motor to the low speed high torque motor is carried out by a pressure switch disposed in a low pressure hydraulic circuit.

Apparatus for safely and efficiently removing a layer of asbestos or like material from a generally planar or corrugated ceiling surface, I-beams or the like is disclosed and comprises a head assembly including an outer cover having a first open portion adapted to face the asbestos layer and a second open portion communicating with suction means through asbestos collecting means, an open ended inner wall member mounted within the outer cover to define an air passage between the inner wall member and the outer cover, and a rotary wire brush mounted within the inner wall member and adapted to engage and remove the asbestos layer from the surfaces to be stripped. The apparatus also includes adjusting means for moving the head assembly to an operative position wherein the rotary wire brush is in scraping contact with the asbestos layer with a small gap present between the peripheral edge of the first open portion of the outer cover and the surface to be stripped. During a scraping operation, the suction means sucks the ambient air into the air passage in the outer cover through the small gap so that the sucked air entrains asbestos laden dust from the inner wall member to thereby prevent the escape of the removed asbestos to the ambient environment.

Apparatus for removing asbestos and like materials from a surface

An apparatus for assemblying link chains of the type having paired links joined together with cross pins joining successive pairs of links longitudinally as chain links having a pitch corresponding to the distance between successive cross pins connecting the paired links. The apparatus has a pair of opposed presses each having a corresponding ram head. The ram heads are cylically operated from a retracted starting position and advanced toward each other and retracted to their retracted position. The ram heads are provided with tools on tool bars for transporting and assemblying paired links on successive cross pins. A trolley travels between the ram heads in a diection forwardly three half pitches and then in a reverse direction two half pitches. The trolley upon reaching the second reverse half-pitch returns to the forward movement of its next operating cycle. The trolley advances successive individual cross pins spaced along the path of travel and thus transports the link chain assembly. The tools on the ram heads position the links onto opposite ends of stationary two successive cross pins as paired links. The links are held in assembly on the cross pins by retainer rings fixed on opposite ends of the cross pins when the cross pins are stationary at the end of the reverse or backward movement of one half pitch by the trolley.

Assembly apparatus for truck links

An automatic build-up welding machine for repair of workpieces such as track rollers. The machine requires no operator in charge during the welding operation. The apparatus comprises a device including a pair of guides, and a switch box connected adjustably in position to a welding torch, the switch box housing therein a pair of limit switches for reversing motion of the torch and a swing lever positioned between the limit switches. The apparatus controls the travel of the torch by varying half-cycles of the reciprocable travel thereof.

Automatic build-up welding machine for track rollers

Described herein is a slag removing apparatus suitable for use on a padi-welding machine, which permits automation of the pad-welding operation and which essentially includes: a C-shaped roller holder located beneath a movable welding torch and provided with a rotational drive mechanism for a roller to be padded; a pair of extension arms horizontally extended on the open side of the roller holder and fixed in vertically adjustable positions; a guide rail support member provided with a rack and bridged between the extension arms in parallel relation with the rotational axis of the roller drive mechanism and detachably at least at one end thereof; a carriage having on a rockable plate a drive motor and a pinion disengageably meshed with the rack and movable along the support member; an inclined mount plate provided on the carriage with a predetermined angle of inclination; and a vibrational beating mechanism holding at least one needle bundle with the fore end thereof in face-to-face relation with the welding surface of the roller; the drive motor being driven in synchronism with movements of the torch in the transverse direction.

Slag removing apparatus for pad-welding machine

An apparatus for displacing a line of track chain is disclosed which is employable for the purpose of disassembling, assembling, or reassembling the chain. A guide table for guiding movement of the chain is adapted to tilt only in the upward direction together with a pair of rails which are raised or lowered by actuating a first cylinder. A trolley moves forward and backward in the space as defined by both the rails by actuating a second cylinder while it is guided along the rails. The trolley is provided with an engagement rod which extends upwardly therefrom through a slot on the guide table to come in engagement to a bushing in the chain. Forward displacing of the chain is achieved by way of the steps of tilting up the guide table together with the rails by actuating the first cylinder, displacing the trolley forward by a distance equal to one pitch of the chain by actuating the first cylinder, lowering the rails to the lowermost position by retracting the first cylinder and displacing the trolley backward to the initial position by retracting the second cylinder. A distance of displacement of the chain is adjustably determined by selectively determining the position of two stoppers on a stationary screw spindle which is extended below the rails in parallel to the latter. Each of the stoppers is adapted to abut against an abutment member fixedly secured to the bottom of the trolley.

Apparatus for displacing a line of track chain

An improved apparatus for rebuilding worn shoe grouser for track chain by welding operation is disclosed. The worn part of shoe is cut off and replacement lug is placed on grouser so that the welding end face of the former comes in tight contact with the welding end face of the latter while they are held between the lug holding member and the shoe holding member. The shoe holding member is adapted to move forward and backward via a shoe supporting member by means of a hydraulic cylinder and the whole assembly of hydraulic cylinder, shoe supporting member, shoe holding member and lug holding member is turnable about the axis of rotary shafts by actuating the turning mechanism. While replacement lug and grouser are brought in firm contact with one another, welding operation is carried out over the one welding area on shoe to be rebuilt. After completion of welding operation the turning mechanism is actuated by rotating a handle so that the whole assembly is turned upside down whereby another welding operation is carried out over the other welding area. The lug holding member is formed with a groove on the one side into which replacement lug is fitted, while it includes a rotary shaft on the other side so that the assembly can be turned. Plural combinations of lugs and grousers may be arranged one after another with spacers interposed therebetween.

Apparatus for rebuilding worn shoe grouser for track chain

Method to properly discriminate fitting pressure of articulated track links. Loading pressure in the ram of a track press is compared with both the lower and upper limit pressure values which are prescribed with reference to the range of fitting pressure specified for the links. Fitting of a link is determined acceptable when a sum of the press loading time is longer than a predetermined value while press pressure is maintained within the range between both the lower and upper pressure values; whereas it is determined unacceptable when the sum of press loading time is shorter than the predetermined one or when time in which press pressure exceeds the upper limit pressure is longer than a predetermined time.

Method of discriminating fitting pressure for links on a track press

This seal check apparatus is mounted on a track press and checks the airtightness of a track joint immediately after the completion of assembly of a track chain using the track press. The apparatus comprises a base assembly mounted on the track press; a vacuum head which is engageable with and disengageable from the track joint on the track press; a member provided with freedom of displacement on the base assembly and supporting the vacuum head with freedom of displacement; a first actuating member provided on the base assembly and displacing the vacuum head supporting member; a second actuating member provided on the vacuum head supporting member and displacing the vacuum head; a gas system for sucking gases from the vacuum head when the latter engages the track joint; and a control member for controlling the operations of both actuating members and the gas system.

Seal check apparatus for lubricant-enclosure type track joints of track

A first contact joint screwed to the open end of a lubrication oil passage bore within the shaft of a track roller whose surface is to be rebuilt by welding material thereto, bears cooling medium inlet and outlet ports, bears an intake tube whose length is such that one end is centered axially between radial oil passages constituting branches for the oil passage bore such that a cooling medium fed to the intake terminal of an intake/exhaust sleeve borne by the first contact joint circulates through the track roller in the area of welding for maintaining the track roller surface at relatively low temperature during welding of the built-up material to the periphery of the track roller.
