A mower comprises: a cutter housing having an inner hole in which an output shaft of a motor is inserted; and a motor cover provided above the cutter housing with a space therebetween, the motor cover covering the motor. Cooling air leadout openings for leading cooling air in the motor cover to the outside are formed in the motor cover, the cooling air leadout openings being positioned inward of a peripheral wall part of the motor cover and outward of the inner hole of the cutter housing.

The present subject matter relates to clutch arm and release devices and methods such as for a variable speed transmission. A clutch linkage can include a control shaft pivotable about an axis, a substantially U-shaped arm connected at two points to the shaft, and a plurality of projections positioned on the arm. The arm can be moved between positions in response to rotational movement of the control shaft, and the projections can thereby engage and exert a force on a movable sleeve to move the sleeve, such as for causing a clutch bearing to move between an engaged and a disengaged position.

Variable speed transmission clutch linkage

A walk-behind electric working machine has a frame, an electric motor mounted on the frame, and a handle support section mounted on the frame, the handle support section having a pair of electrical terminals. A handle post has a first end portion for removable connection to the handle support section, a second end portion, and an electrical terminal disposed on an outer peripheral surface of the first end portion for electrical connection with the electrical terminals of the handle support section when the first end portion of the handle post is connected to the handle support section. A handle is removably mounted on the second end portion of the handle post and has handle portions. Grip members are mounted on the respective handle portions and are configured to be gripped by respective hands of an operator. An operation button controls power to operate the electric motor when the electrical terminal of the handle post is electrically connected to the electrical terminals of the handle support section.

A walk-behind electric cultivating machine has a body frame, an electric motor mounted on the body frame and having a motor shaft, and batteries mounted on the machine body frame for supplying electric power to the electric motor. Each of the batteries has a longitudinal axis disposed generally perpendicular to a longitudinal centerline of the motor shaft. A cultivating shaft is rotatably mounted to the machine body frame and has cultivating members mounted on the cultivating shaft for rotation therewith. A transmission mechanism is mounted on the body frame and is connected to the motor shaft for transmitting a driving power of the electric motor to the cultivating members via the cultivating shaft.

A grass collection container for a lawnmower is provided to reduce the amount of blockage in an air-permeable region of the container. Materials, such as residual grass, that adhere to the container, cause the blockage. The grass collection container is made from cloth, sewn in the form of a bag, to collect grass that has been cut by a rotating cutting blade of the lawnmower and carried to the container by a flow of air. At least one section of the grass collection container is the air-permeable region that allows the flow of air to pass therethrough but does not allow the grass to pass therethrough. The air-permeable region carries thereon a photocatalyst that sterilizes and decomposes grass and organic materials. Therefore, the container is able to reduce the amount of blockage and suppress decay therein, thereby lowering the level of unpleasant odors.

Seedling-growing tape and method of manufacturing the same

A seed top of foamed cells is constructed such that a porous sheet having open cells is affixed to one surface of a thin support band extending in a band-like configuration with its widthwise direction being an up-and-down direction, and accommodation recesses for accommodating seedling seeds are provided in the porous sheet. It is possible to reduce the size and weight of the seedling raising sheet used for raising seedlings and to eliminate the need for soil in raising seedling, thereby enabling an industrial mass-production of the seedling raising sheet.

A four-wheeled-electromotive cart includes a single motor and a direct axle driving mechanism for driving the axle of left and right front wheels by means of the motor. The single electric motor would cause no rotation speed difference between the left and right front wheels and hence constantly permits a smooth linear movement of the electromotive cart. The direct axle driving mechanism includes a relay shaft connected to the output shaft of the electric motor, a small-diameter bevel gear mounted on a lower end of the relay shaft, and a large-diameter bevel gear engaging with the small-diameter bevel gear. The front-wheel axle is spline-connected to the large-diameter bevel gear so as to be driven by the motor via the direct axle driving mechanism. Thus, the electromotive cart is allowed to smoothly start moving without sudden jolts or shocks caused by start of the motor rotation.
