A fluidized bed combustion apparatus has a gas dispersion plate provided in a lower part of a fluidizing chamber on which fluidizing mediums are fluidized to form a fluidized bed in which a fuel is combusted. The apparatus further includes a porous ceramic member so mounted in a combusted gas outlet of the fluidizing chamber as to transverse the outlet. Coating materials having a high radiation rate are applied on an inner wall surface of the fluidizing chamber and on the porous ceramic member surface directed to the fluidizing chamber. The porous ceramic member is perforated with holes each having a diameter larger than a particle diameter of a fluidizing medium. The apparatus is equipped with a unit for back-washing the filter. The apparatus also includes a plate, provided downwardly of the filter, for capturing the particles scattered from the fluidized bed. A fluidized bed type reforming furnace has a plurality of catalyst tubes arranged in vertical and horizontal direction while taking a horizontal posture in the fluidizing chamber positioned upwardly of the gas dispersion plate.

Fluidized bed apparatus

A solid fuel obtained by mixing highly combustible, fusible materials such as polymer resin, and low calory powder such as fuel combustion ashes containing unburnt carbon components and inorganic component, and molding the mixture. The solid fuel has a controlled calorific value and a controlled combustion rate with a good shape retention.

A two fluidized bed type boiler comprises: an upstream combustion zone forming a fluidized bed of sand in which pulverized coal is burnt with air fed as a fluidizing gas; a downstream desulfurizing zone forming a fluidized bed of particulate limestone with flue gases stemming from the combustion zone as fluidizing gases; and an intermediate dust collecting zone, in which a baffle plate facing the combustion zone and extending downwards is provided, is arranged between the upstream and downstream zones to form a single and unitary passage for a flow of the flue gases over the three zones.

Two fluidized bed type boiler

A fluidized bed boiler is controlled such that, when the fuel supply quantity thereof is changed from F.sub.0 to F.sub.1, the fuel supply quantity is changed to a level greater than the difference between F.sub.1 and F.sub.0, the fuel supply quantity is changed to a level smaller than the difference between F.sub.1 and F.sub.0, and the fuel supply quantity is then set to F.sub.1.

Method of controlling a fluidized bed boiler

A fluidized bed boiler is controlled by the processes of (1) setting a reference range of the installation height of the fluidizing medium and a reference range of the temperature of the fluidized bed within the fluidizing chamber; (2) sensing the installation height of the fluidizing medium, comparing the sensed height with the set reference range of the settled bed height, and supplying or discharging the fluidizing medium; (3) sensing the temperature of the fluidized bed, comparing the sensed temperature of the fluidized bed with the set reference range, re-setting the reference range of the fluidizing medium settled bed height at a higher height in accordance with the temperature difference by which the temperature of the fluidized bed exceeds the reference range, if any, and re-setting the reference range of the fluidizing medium settled bed height at a lower height in accordance with the temperature difference by which the fluidized bed temperature is below the reference temperature range, if any; and returning to the process (2).

A powder feeder, includes a cylinder body connected to a gas blow pipe for fluidizing a powder at its bottom portion; a porous plate crossing the lower portion of the cylinder body above a gas blow hole; a partition plate which divides the interior of the cylinder body into a powder supply side and a delivery side and has a slit for communicating the supply and delivery sides with each other at its upper portion; a powder supply pipe connected to the lower portion of the cylinder body at the supply side to be inclined downward toward a connecting portion; and a powder delivery pipe connected to the lower portion of the cylinder body at the delivery side to be inclined downward in a delivery direction.
