An antenna device according to the present disclosure includes two wiring layers and an antenna layer. One of the two wiring layers is divided in the x-direction by a first slit extending in the y-direction, and the antenna layer is divided in the x-direction into first and second antenna areas by a second slit extending in the y-direction. The first and second slits overlap each other in the z-direction. One of the first and second slits is larger in width than the other one thereof. The antenna layer includes an antenna conductor formed in the first antenna area and another antenna conductor formed in the second antenna area.

Disclosed herein is an antenna device that includes: a substrate having a plurality of insulating layers laminated in a z-direction; a first ground pattern formed on a first insulating layer; a first radiating conductor pattern formed on a second insulating layer; a second ground pattern constituted by a first via conductor provided so as to penetrate at least two insulating layers; and a second radiating conductor pattern constituted by a second via conductor provided so as to penetrate at least one insulating layer. The first radiating conductor pattern overlaps the first ground pattern in the z-direction. The second radiating conductor pattern overlaps the second ground pattern in a y-direction.

Because the feed conductoris gently curved, an electric filed concentration can hardly occur. A surface mount antenna with small size and broadband is provided. The surface mount antenna includes: a substrate including a dielectric material or a magnetic material as a main material; a feed radiation conductor formed on the substrate, one end of the feed radiation conductor being a first feed end to be supplied with power, and the other end being a first open end; and a parasitic radiation conductor formed on the substrate at a distance from the feed radiation conductor, one end of the parasitic radiation conductor being a second feed end to be supplied with power from the feed radiation conductor through electromagnetic coupling, and the other end being a second open end. A region having a dielectric constant or a magnetic permeability lower than that of the main material of the substrate is provided between the feed radiation conductor and the parasitic radiation conductor.

An antenna apparatus includes an antenna block and a substrate. The antenna block has a base that is made of a substantially cuboid dielectric body, an upper-surface conductor formed on an upper surface of the base, first and second pad electrodes that are formed on both ends of a bottom surface of the base in a longitudinal direction of the base, respectively, and a lateral-surface conductor connecting the upper-surface conductor and the second pad electrode. The substrate has a region mounting the antenna block, a ground pattern provided around the mounting region, first and second lands that are provided within the mounting region so as to correspond to the positions of the first and second pad electrodes, a feed line that is connected to the first land, an impedance-adjusting pattern connecting the first land and the ground pattern, and a frequency-adjusting pattern connecting the second land and the ground pattern.

An object of the present invention is to further miniaturize a module substrate with an antenna while maintaining desirable characteristics. A module substrate with an antenna according to the invention has a substrate body and first and second radiation conductors and provided on one surface of the substrate body and being symmetrical. The first and the second radiation conductors asymmetrical with respect to a first line B that passes a power-supplying the first radiation conductor and a power-supplying point of the second radiation conductor. Therefore, the wavelength of radio waves radiated from the current flowing in one direction as viewed from the first line B is different from that of radio waves radiated from the current flowing in the other direction as viewed from the first line B. As a result, the substrate body can be miniaturized while securing a broader band than the conventional module substrates.
