In one embodiment of the present invention, a display device is disclosed which performs a divided-screen active driving, and which allows (i) its emitting region to be divided into smaller units, irrespective of the smallest module unit of a light source; and (ii) minimizing increase in costs for a driving system and manufacturing of an area light source, a display device of the present invention includes: a display panel having unit display pixels; an area light source arranged on a back surface of the display panel, the area light source having an emitting region which is divided into divided emitting regions; and a controlling section for controlling luminance of each of the divided emitting regions of the area light source, based on luminance information of video signals input, wherein the area light source includes: unit emitting pixels which controls light emission of the divided emitting regions through a matrix driving; the unit emitting pixels each having an electron emitting element for emitting an electron, and a fluorescent substance which emits light by being excited by the electron emitted from the electron emitting element, the unit emitting pixels each occupying an area which is equivalent to an area of plural pixels out of the unit display pixels.

Display device

The display system of the present invention includes: a body unit () for transmitting image data that has been generated; and a display device () for displaying an image in accordance with the image data that has been transmitted from the body unit (), and said display system is characterized in that the body unit () and the display device () perform communications via radio communication means, and the body unit () and the display device () are separately providable. Thus, the radio transmission is used as communication means, and there is no cable, connecting the display device () and the body unit (), that transfers the data signal, so that the device user can operate the system freely while watching the display device (). As a result, it is possible to improve the workability of the user of the present display system. Further, since there is no wire connection section, using a connection clip, that is provided in a conventional display device, it is possible to simplify a mechanism for securing the strength of the wire connection section.

Display device and display system

The display system of the present invention includes: a body unit for transmitting display data that has been generated; and a display device for displaying an image in accordance with the display data that has been transmitted from the body unit. The display system is characterized in that the body unit and the display device perform communications via radio communication means, and the body unit and the display device are separately provided. Thus, the radio transmission is used as communication means, and there is no cable connecting the display device and the body unit that transfers the display data, so that the user can operate the system freely while watching the display device.

A display device includes a display panel and an ion generator for generating positive ions and negative ions. The display device kills microorganisms or decomposes and removes harmful organic substances (e.g., sources of odor or environmental hormones), which exist either on the screen or in the air surrounding the display device, by utilizing the action of the positive and negative ions.

A scanning line drive circuit performs not only a sequential scanning function of scanning lines, but also an interlaced scanning function. For instance, in a fluoroscopy mode in which high-speed imaging and real-time imaging are required, the scanning line drive circuit performs interlaced scanning to scan, for example, every other scanning line. With the interlaced scanning, since the scanning lines are scanned one line at a time like the sequential scanning, a variation of charge on a signal line side does not increase during a transition of a scanning line voltage like conventional scanning in which a plurality of scanning lines are scanned simultaneously. It is therefor possible to obtain a good signal-to-noise ratio without an increase in noise due to fluctuations in the scanning line voltage. Moreover, since an increase in the variation of charge in the fluoroscopy mode can be limited by changing a scanning method of the scanning line drive circuit according to an imaging mode, a signal readout circuit does not need to have a complicated structure to limit the increase in the variation of charge.

X-ray imaging apparatus

An active matrix liquid crystal display consuming only a small amount of electric power. The liquid crystal display has two driver circuits which drive two sets of signal lines, respectively, One set of signal lines creates the upper half of a frame of image displayed on the viewing screen, while the other set of signal lines creates the lower half of the image. An image signal for creating the frame of image is supplied to the two driver circuits alternately so that when one of the driver circuits is operating, the other is halted or put on standby.

Active matrix liquid crystal display

An apparatus using a two-dimensional radiation sensor for acquiring X-ray penetration images or the like. A monitoring radiography is performed with a small dose before a production radiography. A radiographic condition for the production radiography, specifically a radiation emitting period or a tube current of a radiation generator, is computed based on a ratio between a quantity of charges in a region of interest collected from the two-dimensional radiation sensor in time of the monitoring radiography and a desired quantity of charges in the region of interest in time of the production radiography. The production radiography is carried out based on a result of the computation to acquire a high quality image.

Radiographic apparatus

In a liquid crystal display device having a simple matrix liquid crystal display panel including a plurality of scanning electrodes disposed in parallel with each other and a plurality of data electrodes disposed in parallel with each other so as to cross the scanning electrodes, the scanning electrodes are divided into a predetermined number of sub-groups, and each sub-group is successively driven by utilizing an orthogonal function. For a selection, a signal having an electric potential of .+-.Vr, which is a selection pulse string according to the orthogonal function, is applied to the respective scanning electrodes as a scanning electrode driving signal. For a non-selection, a signal having an electric potential of 0 is applied to the respective scanning electrodes as the scanning electrode driving signal. On the other hand, a data electrode driving signal having an electric potential proportional to a sum of products of a display pattern and the scanning electrode driving signal is applied to the respective data electrodes. A bias value 'A', which is a proportional constant therefor, is set in a predetermined range. Thus, a uniform display with a high contrast enabling a fast response can be realized while suppressing a frame response phenomenon and display inconsistencies.

Liquid crystal display device and method for driving the same

In a semiconductor device wherein an active device circuit and electrically conductive lines, such as a power source line for supplying power to the semiconductor active device circuit or signal lines for inputting a signal to the semiconductor active device circuit, are formed together on a single substrate, an improved arrangement wherein a conventional power source or signal line is formed by using a plurally of individual lines of substantially uniform electrical resistance where the electrical resistance of each line is limited to a predetermined value. Moreover, a waveform deterioration response signal component is added to a signal transmitted through the signal lines so as to improve the transmitted signal by compensating for waveform deterioration experienced during circuit operation. In addition, an electrical capacity forming electrode is provided alongside substantial length of the power source line. A capacitor is thus effectively formed within the active device circuit by intervening a dielectric between the power source line and the capacity forming electrode so as to reduce high-frequency noise which occurs in the power source line. The disclosed arrangements substantially reduce the occurrence of an irregular operation in the active device circuit.

Semiconductor device

An apparatus for producing a railroad symbol and a road symbol, includes a CPU, a coordinates input device, an external storage device and a display. The CPU has an operation unit for performing a drawing operation, an interface circuit and a memory for storing data and a program. The railroad symbol is produced by continuous drawing of figure parts. The road symbol is produced by overlapping curved line drawn with a circle in a color and curved line drawn with smaller circle in another color.

Image producing apparatus

A moving vector extractor for detecting a shaking of an image through a video camera in order to improve accuracy of the detection. Even when the image is dark or of low density gradient as a whole, a density gradient value around representative point is calculated. Basic data of moving vector of the difference value between successive frames is obtained by calculating an absolute value or a squared value. The basic data of the moving vector is weighted according to a density gradient value so as to improve the precision of moving vector extraction.

A image processing apparatus for coloring an original image includes a unit for inputting an original image to be painted and a color image, a unit for dividing the original image input by the inputting unit into a plurality of areas corresponding to the original image and for generating area information data corresponding to the plurality of areas, a unit for selecting the same number of colors as the number of the plurality of areas based on data of the color image input by the inputting unit, and a unit for allocating the colors selected by the selecting unit to the plurality of divided areas based on the area information data.

Image processing apparatus

An image synthesizing apparatus includes a first storage unit for storing first image data, a second storage unit for storing second image data, a third storage unit for storing data of a synthesizing ratio of the first image data to the second image data, a selective unit for selectively outputting at least the lower bits of the first and second image data based on the synthesizing ratio, and a synthesizing unit for synthesizing the image data selected by the selective unit and outputting the synthesized image data. Data base system

An image processing apparatus is provided with: at least one image memory for storing each picture element value of an original image; a coordinate inputting device by which a coordinate of an arbitrary point on the original image can be inputted; a device for setting a threshold according to the picture element value at the coordinate inputted by the coordinate inputting device; and a data buffer for successively storing the set threshold. The image processing apparatus is further provided with at least one look up table for converting each picture element value to either one color component data, which color indicates that the picture element value is within the region prescribed by the set threshold, or another color component data, which color indicates that the picture element value is outside the region prescribed by the set threshold, according to the set threshold, each time the threshold is set by the threshold setting device. The threshold setting device sets as a new threshold, a value between the currently set threshold and the previously set threshold, which has been set before the currently set threshold and stored in the data buffer, when canceling the currently set threshold.
