A cold storage tank unit for a refrigeration cycle apparatus includes a cold storage heat exchanger having plural tubes and a pair of first and second tanks connected to longitudinal ends of the tubes, a cold storage material tank which accommodates at least the tubes of the cold storage heat exchanger, and a cold storage material filled in the cold storage material tank. The cold storage material is cold-stored by the refrigerant or is cold-released to cool gas refrigerant evaporated in the evaporator. Furthermore, the second tank has a lower end portion that is positioned lower than a lower end portion of the first tank, and the second tank has a tank capacity capable of storing a predetermined liquid refrigerant condensed by cold storage heat of the cold storage material. The cold storage tank unit can be located between an evaporator and a compressor in the refrigeration cycle apparatus.

A flow rate control valve is arranged in the branched passage between a radiator and an ejector on a downstream side of the radiator to depressurize refrigerant outputted from the radiator. An air conditioning system for a vehicle has a cool storage heat exchanger for continuing cooling operation with stored cooling energy during a compressor is stopped due to a temporal stop of an engine for the vehicle. Cooling energy is stored in the cool storage material of the cool storage heat exchanger during a normal cooling operation during which the compressor is operated by the engine. When the vehicle stops, for example before a traffic lamp, and thereby the compressor is not operated, an ejector is operated to circulate the refrigerant from the cool storage heat exchanger to an evaporator so that the cooling operation can be continued.

Air conditioning system for vehicle

In a heat storage system for a vehicle, when a temperature of cooling water from a vehicle engine is high, adsorbents are heated by the cooling water, so that moisture is desorbed from the adsorbents in order to store heat. When the temperature of cooling water is low, the moisture is adsorbed in the adsorbents to heat the cooling water, while refrigerant in a vapor compression refrigerator is cooled by evaporating water. Thus, adsorption heat is generated from the adsorbents, and the cooling water is heated by using the adsorption heat. Accordingly, warm-up operation of the vehicle engine is facilitated, while motive power consumed by the vapor compression refrigerator can be reduced.

An air conditioner for an economically running vehicle includes a compressor driven by a vehicle engine, an evaporator, and a cold-storage heat exchanger having a cold storage material. The evaporator and the cold-storage heat exchanger are disposed in series in a refrigerant flow. When the compressor is operated, the cold storage material is cooled by low-pressure refrigerant in a cold storage mode. When the operation of the compressor is stopped, refrigerant circulates between the evaporator and the cold-storage heat exchanger, so that refrigerant evaporated in the evaporator is cooled and liquefied by the cold storage material in a cold release mode. Further, a flow direction of refrigerant flowing through the evaporator in the cold storage mode is the same as that in the cold release mode.

A side refrigerant outlet passage and a side refrigerant inlet passage are provided between first and second protruding portions of a side plate and an end plate, which are joined to one another. The side plate has base portions protruding in an opposite direction of the end plate, and a pipe joint including an outlet pipe and an inlet pipe is joined to the base portions of the side plate. Accordingly, a strength of joining portions between the side pate and the pipe joint is improved, and simultaneously processing cost of the pipe joint is decreased.

Thus, a part of the liquid refrigerant can bypass the heat-exchanging units, and the liquid refrigerant quickly flows out of the evaporator, thereby shortening the time for returning the liquid refrigerant to the compressor right after the refrigerating cycle starts.

A laminated type heat exchanger includes a plurality of tube elements laminated so as to form a first tank portion, a second tank portion, and a third tank portion in a laminated direction. Each tube element includes a first flange, a second flange, and a third flange for the first tank portion, the second tank portion, and the third tank portion, which are brazed with a first flange, a second flange, and a third flange of an adjacent tube element, respectively. The first flange is folded inside the first tank portion, the second flange is folded outside the second tank portion, and the third flange is folded outside the third tank portion. In this way, it is possible to reduce the flow resistance of the refrigerant flowing in the tank portions.

Laminated type heat exchanger having small flow resistance

A laminated type heat exchanger includes a plurality of refrigerant passages which are formed by pairs of core plates. Each core plate comprises an outer covering layer, a core layer, and an inner covering layer. The outer covering layer is made of a brazing material of which electric potential is more negative than the core layer while the inner covering layer is made of a brazing material of which electric potential is equal to or more positive than the core layer. The refrigerant passages are formed by brazing only the adjacent two of the inner covering layer. The outer covering layer works as a sacrificial corrosive material with respect to the inner covering layer and the core layer. Leakage of refrigerant from the brazed portions of the core plates is prevented, whereby the corrosion resistance of the laminated type heat exchanger is improved.

Laminated type heat exchanger

A refrigerant evaporator has, at each of a downstream side and an upstream side with respect to a flow direction of air, a pair of upper and lower tanks and a tube connecting the tanks. A refrigerant flows from the pair of tanks and the tube at the downstream side to the pair of tanks and the tube at the upstream side to cool the air flowing outside the tubes. The tanks at the upstream side are formed in an elliptic shape in cross section and the tanks at the downstream side are formed in a circular shape in cross section. The shorter diameter of the elliptic shape lies in a longitudinal direction of the tubes and is the same as the diameter of the circular shape.

An evaporator capable of improving heat-exchange efficiency by enhancing performance to distribute refrigerant to many refrigerant passages of a refrigerant distribution pipe from a throttle. The evaporator is capable of suppressing the occurrence of a refrigerant passing noise by the throttle while maintaining the throttle of a nozzle at a certain size as to be able to function as a throttle. The inner diameter of the throttle in the nozzle is made as large as possible. The cross-sectional center of the throttle of the nozzle is off-centered toward the upper side relative to the cross-sectional center of the refrigerant distribution pipe inserted into the inlet tank of the evaporator. The refrigerant flows out of the throttle in a mixed condition of liquid and gas, and separation of gas and liquid in the refrigerant is alleviated inside the refrigerant distribution chamber. The refrigerant flowing out of the throttle of the nozzle can easily flow into the upper side of the refrigerant distribution pipe rather than the lower side. Thus, the performance of refrigerant distribution from the throttle to many refrigerant passages of the refrigerant distribution pipe is improved.
