The control switch according to the present invention provides different electric conduction states and may be used for setting a point indicated by a cursor on a monitor in a navigation system. The control switch comprises (i) two terminal members each having four terminals, and (ii) common terminals respectively corresponding to the two terminal members. One terminal member is different in phase from the other terminal member. When one common terminal and its terminal member are short-circuited by a movable contact-piece member, the other common terminal and its terminal member are in a non-conduction state. When the common terminal and its terminal member are short-circuited by a movable contact-piece member, the one common terminal and its terminal member are in a state of non-conduction.

In a multipin connector socket a rectangular body of an insulating material, with socket contacts housed therein in rows and columns, is received in a tubular metallic shield cover, which is, in turn, received in a square tubular case of an insulating material, defining therebetween a square groove for receiving a shell of the mating connector plug inserted thereinto from the front. The front of the socket portion of the case is covered with a metallic square tubular ground cover, and lugs set up from the shield cover are engaged with slots of the ground cover, by which the shield cover and the ground cover are electrically connected to each other. Spring pieces extending from the ground cover project into the square groove for elastically contacting the shell of the mating connector plug when the plug is inserted into the square groove.

A multiple connector has an insulating body which contains a plurality of pin contacts arranged in rows and columns of a matrix. The insulating body is inserted securely in the front end portion of a cylindrical metal shielding body. Front end faces of contact holding plates holding these pin contacts in a row or a column arrangment are held in abutment with the rear face of the insulating body. The contact holding plates respectively have contact holding grooves formed therein to extend in a front and rear direction. Cord connection portions of the pin contacts extending or projecting from the rear face of the insulation body are pressed into and secured to these contact holding grooves. The cord connection portion has a press-in contact portion formed integrally therein and the press-in contact portion has a slot of a width smaller than the diameter of a core bundle of the cord to be connected. When a covered cord is pressed into the slot, the cover is torn and edges of the slot intrude into the core bundle. An engagement piece is formed at the middle portion of the pin contact. When the pin contact is inserted into the contact housing hole, the engagement piece engages with a stepped portion formed on an inner wall of the contact housing hole, so that the contact holding plate and the insulation body are engaged through the pin contact.

The rear portion of a rectangular body of an insulating material is made hollow, and the forward portion of the body has contact housing holes extending from the front thereof to the hollow and arranged in a matrix form in the front thereof, socket contacts being housed in the contact housing holes. The rear end portions of the socket contacts are bent at right angles in the hollow and led out of the body through terminal insertion holes of a holder which forms the bottom of the hollow. The rectangular body is fitted in a square tubular shield cover produced by punching a metal plate, pressing and bending it into the desired shape. The body and the shield cover define therebetween a square groove for receiving a metal cover of the mating plug. The top panel of the shield cover has an engaging key protruding outwardly therefrom, and the key has in its top an inward protrusion for locking use.

A card connector capable of preventing the contact pieces from applying a resilient contact force to a card when the card is inserted in and removed from the card connector. Thus, the card may be readily inserted and removed with a small force. If the card is not inserted in a normal posture with the wrong side up or with the rear end first, the card is automatically discharged from the card connector.

The present invention discloses a connector in which, when a card C is inserted into a connector body 1, a resettable slider 5 disposed in the connector body 1 is moved from an advance position to a retreat position, such that one swing end(s) 26 of a swing member 4 in the connector body 1 is a pushed and displaced in a direction away from contact pieces 14, 15 disposed in the connector body 1, while the other swing end(s) 27 is displaced in a direction toward the contact pieces 14, 15. The displacement of the other swing end(s) 27 in a direction toward the contact pieces 14, 15 causes the card C to be moved in a direction toward the contact pieces 14, 15, such that the terminals of the card C come in contact with contact portions 14c, 15c of the contact pieces 14, 15. Thus, the contact of the terminals of the card C with the contact portions 14c, 15 c of the contact pieces 14, 15 is minimized at the time when the card C is inserted and removed.

This invention discloses a connector for printed board connection comprising a first body having a plurality of first contacts to be connected with one printed wiring and a second body facing to the first contacts of the first body, in which the first body and the second body are turnably and detachably connected with each other, each end of the first contacts and each end of the second contacts are brought into contact with each other within a turning range, so that the printed boards may be easily and speedily connected with each other and that the arrangement of the printed boards may be freely selected while electrical connection therebetween being assured, maintenance being easily carried out and cost being saved thereby.

The invention discloses a method of manufacturing a jack comprising a step of punching a sheet metal by which a plurality of contact piece elements to be individual contact pieces of a jack are formed into a state of being partially connected to one another and arranged in parallel, a step of bending both ends of each contact piece element downward, a step of cutting off each contact piece element arranged in parallel by a cutter to form individual contact pieces, and a step of forcedly incorporating each contact piece into a jack body positioned right under a punching stroke of the cutter used in the cutting step whereby a complete automatization of the manufacturing is attained, considerably increasing productivity and decreasing an equipment cost as much.

Method of manufacturing a jack

The disclosure relates to a connector for connecting at least two printed circuit boards without forming a soldered connection to any of the boards. The connector includes a housing having a front face and a rear face, each face being formed with an elongated aperture for receiving therein one edge of a corresponding printed circuit board. A plurality of contact guide channels are formed in the housing extending in parallel spaced relation between the front and rear faces and opening in both faces on opposite sides of the elongated board receiving apertures. Each contact has curved, circuit engaging fingers adjacent to the opposite ends thereof. Each channel is in communication with the elongated apertures to allow the contact's fingers to extend into the apertures thus making electrical contact with circuitry on the printed circuit boards. Each contact may be assembled into a corresponding channel from one housing face in a manner to result in a proper preloading of the contact.
