When cleaning water hits a lower wallof a first waterproof portionof an upper cover, and the water is thrown up to the upper cover, a tapered outer wallof the first waterproof portionand a tapered inner wallof the first waterproof portioncome into contact with each other, and are engaged with each other to close an entrance side of a tiny passage. Even if the water enters, the water enters a blind passageto reduce the force of the water. The water of which force is reduced falls down. It is effective for improving waterproof performance to reduce the force of the water by the blind passage

There is provided a waterproof case which prevents ingress of water into the waterproof case through a protection piece, including a case body formed into a rectangular tube-like shape with a peripheral wall thereof and a lower cover having a bottom wall covering a lower opening of the case body and a peripheral wall extending from the bottom wall. The peripheral wall of the body case is placed so as to cover the peripheral wall of the lower cover. The protection piece is provided at the peripheral wall of the lower cover so as to sandwich the peripheral wall of the case body with the peripheral wall of the lower cover to prevent the deformation of the peripheral wall of the lower cover. There is also provided a protrusion protruding from a surface of the peripheral wall of the case body on which the protection piece is placed.

Waterproof case

An electrical junction box includes a junction-box body having at least an outlet for discharging a liquid inside thereof to an outside thereof; and a bracket provided between the junction-box body and a vehicle-body panel. The bracket is adapted to attach the junction-box body to the vehicle-body panel such that the bracket resides in a lower space relative to the junction-box body in a vertical direction. The bracket includes a throughhole communicating with the outlet and adapted to guide the liquid from the outlet to the outside. The bracket may include a plurality of ribs spaced from each other and upstanding in a shape of a plate toward the vehicle-body panel such that the outlet is provided between the ribs. The ribs may be connected to each other via a foot of the bracket upstanding in a shape of a plate toward the vehicle-body panel.

Electrical junction box

A straddle type vehicle having an improved external appearance includes a connecting rod, the movement of which can be detected reliably by an input section of a brake switch. A structure around a brake switch of a straddle type vehicle including a foot rest disposed on the front portion side of a crankcase, a brake pedal having a rotational axis near the foot rest, a master cylinder capable actuating a brake by pressing a pressurization section, a connecting rod connecting a turnable operation section of the brake pedal and the master cylinder and capable of pressurizing the pressurization section through turning movement of the brake pedal, and a brake switch capable of lighting up a brake lamp through detection of the movement of the connecting rod by an input section, wherein the master cylinder is fixed on the rear portion side of the crankcase, and the input section of the brake switch is disposed near the master cylinder.

Straddle type vehicle

An indicator for a straddle type vehicle includes a dial plate and scale markings provided on the dial face. Each of the scale markings protrudes from a flat dial face of the dial plate and is provided with a slant face inclined relative to the flat dial face for reflecting external light.

A windscreen attaching/detaching device includes a mount bracket including a stopper and a hook, with the mount bracket secured to a windscreen and a mount stay including a damper member and a lock mechanism, with the mount stay secured to a vehicle body. The lock mechanism urges the hook to a locked position. The lock mechanism includes an arm disengaging with the hook and a lever linking to the arm and turnable between the locked position and an unlocked position. The windscreen engages the damper member with the stopper as well as engages the arm with the hook to turn the lever to the locked position that allows the windscreen to be secured to the vehicle body.

Windscreen device for motorcycle

A motorcycle features an improved fairing. The fairing generally comprises a forward panel and a rear panel. The forward panel includes an aperture for a headlight while the rear panel includes apertures for gauges and speakers. By removing the forward panel, a mounting stay and a cavity are revealed. The headlight and the various features secured in the rear panel are mounted to the stay within the cavity. The stay is connected to the frame of the motorcycle and carries the weight of the fairing. An engaging member positively locates the headlight within the forward panel of the fairing when the forward panel is reattached to the motorcycle following maintenance. When the forward panel removed for maintenance, an opening is provided into the cavity defined between the forward panel and the rear panel and the cavity is exposed in both forward and lateral directions.

Motorcycle fairing

In a connector fixing construction, connectors are mounted on a printed circuit board, and wall portions, covering peripheral surfaces of the connectors, respectively, are formed on a cover covering the printed circuit board. Therefore, even if a lateral external force acts on the connector when a mating connector is inserted into and removed from the connector, the connector is prevented from being moved laterally, thereby certainly preventing damage, such as a crack, to solder portions by which terminals of the connector are connected to a circuit pattern.

Connector fixing construction

A shifting apparatus for an automatic transmission mounted on a steering column (10), comprises: a shift lever (30) shifted from a park position to drive positions formed in a shift plate (61); a selector member (50) formed with a detent portion (51) selectively engaged with one of shift positions of the shift plate when the lever (30) is shifted; a shift lever lock mechanism having: a shift lock member (90) for locking the selector member (50);a switch (70) turned on by the selector member (50) when the shift lever is set to the park position; an actuator (80) energized when the switch (70) is turned on to move the shift lock member (90) to a shift lock position; and an actuation member (100) associated with the selector member (50) and the shift lock member (90) between the shift lock position and a shift unlock position; and a key lock mechanism (200) for locking and unlocking the actuation member (100) via a key lock cable (105). When the engine is started, the actuation member 100 is unlocked from the key lock mechanism (200) and when a brake pedal is further depressed, the lock member (90) is unlocked by the actuator (80), so that the shift lever can be shifted. The shifting apparatus is small in size, low in cost, easy to operate, and stable in operation.
