An opening and closing device for moving a movable member which includes a drive gear connected to a power source, a driven gear geared with the drive gear, an immovable portion supporting the drive gear and the driven gear, and a dynamic transmission mechanism connected to the driven gear so that the driven gear and the dynamic transmission mechanism rotate together as a unit. The dynamic transmission mechanism transmits a drive force of the power source from the driven gear to the movable member. A direction of a rotational force affecting the driven gear via the dynamic transmission mechanism in accordance with a state of the movable member fluctuates. The opening and closing device further includes a friction member located at least at one position between relatively movable facing surfaces of the immovable portion, the drive gear, the driven gear, and the dynamic power transmission mechanism.

An opening and closing mechanism for a cover of a vehicle opening which transmits the actuation force securely and effectively. The opening and closing mechanism for cover of a vehicle opening includes a crank gear being rotatable about a crank axis center for opening and closing the opening and closing mechanism for the cover for a vehicle opening, a slider reciprocating along a guide member, and a cover operation member one end of which is pivoted on a crank pin of the crank gear, the other end of which includes a crank arm pivoted on a slider pin of the slider, and provided between the slider and the cover for a vehicle opening and being swingably relative to the slider for cooperating the slider and the cover of a vehicle opening.

Opening and closing mechanism for vehicle opening

A seat apparatus for an automotive vehicle includes an upper gear fixed to a side member of a seat-back frame equipped with a retractor, a lower gear engaging with the upper gear, a pair of lower arms embracing the upper gear and the lower gear, a shaft having a coaxial shaft portion on which the pair of lower arms is supported and an eccentric shaft portion on which the upper gear is supported, a release arm supported on the coaxial shaft portion and having a distal end to which a first pin is fixed, the first pin being inserted into first registered oblong holes of the pair of lower arms, a second pin passed through a cam slot of the release arm and second registered oblong holes of the pair of lower arms, the second pin being capable of freely entering and exiting a notch in the lower gear, and a third oblong hole provided in the lower arm for receiving a third pin fixed to the upper gear. At the moment of a collision, a large load from the upper gear is received by the second pin as a shearing force.

Seat apparatus for vehicles

A seat for vehicles having a seat cushion and a seatback includes a seat cushion bracket mounted on both sides of the seat cushion, a seatback bracket mounted on both sides of the seatback, a lever rotatably pivoted on the seatback bracket, a cam member slidably supported on the seatback bracket and operatively connected to the lever, a locking groove formed on the seat cushion bracket and fixedly connectable with the cam member, and urging means interposed between the seatback bracket and the lever and always urging the lever so as to fixedly connect the cam member and locking groove.

Vehicle seat assembly

In order to realize that a seatback spring device can fit to the curvature of the back of an occupant, a sheet, preferably in the form of fabric, which is deformable in all directions is employed and is provided on a frame. Adjustable tension applying means are provided to adjust the seatback in both the lumbar area, and the shoulder area.

Seatback spring device

A seat adjusting apparatus having a main frame assembly and a seat assembly. The main frame assembly includes a first frame and a backrest, while the seat assembly inlcudes a second frame and a seat. Devices are provided for slidably mounting the first frame, as well as movably mounting the second frame on the first frame. Further, the seating adjusting apparatus includes components, which are responsive to the sliding movement of the first frame in a first direction through a first distance for moving the second frame relative to the first frame in opposite direction through a distance less than the first distance.

An upholstered seat for use in an automobile includes a seat cushion, seat adjusters mounted on the seat cushion and each composed of a slidable lower bracket and an upper bracket angularly movably mounted on the lower bracket, and a seat back fixedly mounted on the upper brackets and including a seat back frame and a cover having side gores fastened to the seat back frame in front of the upper brackets. The side gores can be fastened to the seat back frame before the upper brackets are secured to the seat back. Therefore, the side gores are kept uniformly taut without sagging while the upper brackets are being fastened to the seat back.

A seat cushion for a vehicle seat includes a moving device one end thereof being connected to the vehicle floor and the other end connected to the seat cushion for moving the cushion forwardly and rearwardly relative to a seat back and an operating lever for actuating the moving device and a two-way clutch for transmitting output from the operating lever to the moving device.

Seat cushion for vehicles

An adjustable cushion support device for adjusting the holding pressure applied to support a seat cushion. The adjustable support device includes a frame member having a first end and a second end to support the cushion. A spring member is mounted on the frame member between the first end and the second end for flexibly supporting a load. A control mechanism is mounted on the frame member and is connected to the spring member for adjusting the holding pressure applied to the spring member. The control mechanism includes an enforcing member pivotally supported on the frame member for pushing the spring member upwards, a biasing member for biasing the enforcement member, and an operating lever to control the inclination of the biasing member to regulate the holding pressure applied to the spring member.

Flexible mounting

A seat cushion structure for use in a vehicle seat includes a seat cushion foam body having laterally spaced sides, a plurality of cushion springs disposed below and along the seat cushion foam body and resiliently supporting the seat cushion foam body, a cushion frame supporting the cushion springs, a border wire mounted on the cushion frame and supporting the sides of the seat cushion foam body, the border wire being connected to front ends of the cushion springs and including portions resiliently supported by the cushion frame, and a support spring disposed between the cushion frame and the cushion springs and resiliently supporting the cushion springs. The cushion frame is composed of elongate support members disposed in a front and rear position of the cushion frame and supporting the cushion springs and a frame-shaped holder disposed on the front and rear support members engaged with edges of a cover material covering the seat cushion foam body.
