A seal device for sealing a space between a housing and a rotating shaft includes seal members, and a holder having a cylindrical portion and configured to retain the seal members the cylindrical portion being press-fitted into a shaft hole provided in the housing. The holder is provided with, at one end of the cylindrical portion, a protruding portion protruded in a radially outward direction of the cylindrical portion. The shaft hole of the housing has a tapered portion having an annular shape and forming one end portion of the shaft hole to guide an insertion of the holder into the shaft hole. The protruding portion is provided on an inner diameter side of the tapered portion.

Seal device

A sealing device that suppresses degradation of sealing properties resulting from conduction of heat generated by sliding of a resin-made sealing member and a rotating shaft to a rubber-made sealing member. The sealing device includes a rubber sealing member (), a resin sealing member (), a support ring (), and a case (), the support ring () has: a large diameter portion (); an inward flange () that extends inwardly in a radial direction from an end portion of the large diameter portion () on an air side, and has a notch () with which a nail portion () of the case is engaged; a small diameter portion () that is in contact with an inner peripheral surface of a lip portion () of the rubber sealing member (); and a lip retaining portion ().

Sealing device

A sealing device is capable of fixing an elastomeric seal relative to a support member without using an adhesive or an adaptor. The support member () is configured from a stepped annular member having a small diameter portion () on the sealed liquid side (L) and a large diameter portion () on the opposite side (A) intervened by the small diameter portion (). The large diameter portion () being larger in outer diameter than the small diameter portion (), and the elastomeric seal () has an interference with an inner peripheral surface of a shaft hole () of the housing () and an interference with each of the small diameter portion () and the large diameter portion (), and is fixed in a state in which the elastomeric seal () is press-fitted in between the inner peripheral surface of the shaft hole () and the support member ().

A shaft seal device is provided in which movement of the seal lip is prevented and the sealing function can be reliably maintained by shaping the adapter so that the adapter is more readily pressed into and less liable to be dislodged from the cartridge, and by increasing the width in the radial direction. An external peripheral-side flange of the adapter fitted into the cartridge on the sealing fluid side of the first lip seal member is formed in a small-diameter tapered shape toward the web side, and the web is composed of an external-periphery-side portion having an orthogonal planar shape that is orthogonal to the center of the shaft, and a tapered internal-periphery-side portion that slopes to the sealing fluid side.

Shaft seal device

A seal device where a seal lip reliably maintains shaft sealing relative to high-pressure fluid that is to be sealed and where the equivalent Mises stress occurring in the seal lip is reduced to extend the durable term of the seal lip longer. A backup ring has a tapered section continuously extending from a fixation section of the backup ring and also has a forward end section. A rounded surface (E) with a curvature radius (R-1) is formed at least at a boundary where a surface (D) of the tapered section changes to a surface (F) of the forward end section. A portion of the surface (D) of the tapered surface, which portion is in contact with the rounded surface (E) at the boundary, is a projected curvature surface having a curvature radius greater than the curvature radius (R-1) of the boundary.
