A translation system performing translation from a first language into a second language under an interaction mode between said translation system and an operator, includes keys for inputting the original sentence to be translated, means for translating the input sentence of said first language into an output sentence of said second language, wherein the operator inputs information relating to at least one word of the input sentence such as the part of speech or the element of the sentence. The translation is then performed on the basis of said input information.

Translation system

A document preparing system includes input processing means for detecting the per-unit-time moving amount of a click such as a mouse and for supplying information to be used for calculation for correction; correction means for executing a calculation for correction based on information supplied from the input processing means and for supplying a corrective value; and mouse cursor moving amount calculation means for calculating the per-unit-time moving amount of a mouse cursor using the corrective value and the per-unit-time mouse moving amount. As the mouse moving speed is higher, the mouse cursor moving speed is further increased. This enables to closely reproduce the mouse user's operation feeling that a fine movement of the mouse is slowly made while a rough movement thereof is quickly made. This improves a smooth operational effectiveness of the mouse.

Cursor shift speed control system

An entry text display system is disclosed which is used in a document editing device which receives and inserts in an existing document a non-defined text and then converts the same to a defined text which is in a form in conformity with the existing document form. The entry text display system includes an entry character display processor for detecting the received non-defined text, storing the received non-defined text, detecting the position of a cursor, which moves right each time a character is entered, and for scrolling the text characters in a line horizontally towards left in response to the insertion of non-defined text. A CRT is provided for displaying the received non-defined text in a line in which the cursor is positioned such that non-defined text characters are sequentially displayed rightwardly until the cursor moves to the right end of the line, and thereafter, the whole line is shifted leftwardly as the non-defined text characters are inserted from the left side of the cursor, and the characters arriving at the left end of the line disappears from the display means. Thereafter, all non-defined text revives on the CRT.

Entry text display system

One translating system is disclosed in which a first translation mode for translating sentences in a unit of one sentence or a second translation mode for translating sentences in a package may be selectively chosen. Further, in this translation system, sentences to be translated can be entered either by direct data entry such as a keyboard or by indirect data entry such as an external device.

An operator interactive translation system for translating sentences in a first language to sentences in a second language includes a separate memory for storing translated words in the second language as learned words corresponding to input words in the first language, upon being indicated as correct equivalents by the user. For each subsequent translation using sentence construction and morpheme analysis, the learned word stored in the buffer memory is selected as the first translation each time the specific input word in the first language appears in a sentence to be translated.

Bilingual translation system capable of memorizing learned words

A translating apparatus comprising a synonym display device for displaying synonyms related to a certain translated term in a translated sentence, and a replacing arrangement for replacing the certain translated term with an appropriate synonym selected among the synonyms displayed by the display device, whereby a more suitable translated term or terms can be selected through consultation of a dictionary contained in the apparatus.
