In a wiper control apparatus, a water drop detector outputs an output signal in accordance with water drops adhering to a windshield of a vehicle. When a traveling determination portion determines that the vehicle is traveling, a first level setting portion sets a sensitivity for detecting the output signal to a first sensitivity. When the traveling determination portion determines the vehicle is not traveling, a second level setting portion sets the sensitivity for detecting the output signal to a second sensitivity that is larger than the first sensitivity. A water drop adhesion determination portion determines that water drops adhere to the windshield when a determination waiting time elapses in a state where detection of the output signal continues. A driving control portion controls a wiper driving portion to drive the wiper when the water drop adhesion determination portion determines that water drops adhere to the windshield.

Wiper control apparatus

A control system for opening or closing an opening-closing member when a foreign material is caught by the opening-closing member. The event that the opening-closing member catches the foreign material is decided on the basis of a driving state of a motor for driving the opening-closing member such as a power window. For example, the event that the event of catching the foreign material is decided when a driving acceleration or a driving velocity is less than a predetermined threshold X or Y, respectively. Each of the thresholds X and Y is set basically on the basis of the previous driving acceleration and velocity of the opening-closing member. The thresholds X and Y are corrected on the basis of a condition exerting an influence upon the driving state of the motor, for example, on the basis of a driving voltage or a resistance to a sliding movement of the opening-closing member.

Control system for opening or closing an opening-closing member

An operation apparatus for a vehicle automatic transmission mechanism includes first and second actuators, connected in parallel with a hydraulic valve, for driving the hydraulic valve to switch a travel range of an automatic transmission mechanism, a control unit for controlling the first and second actuators, and a transmission operation unit for outputting a range signal indicating a presently set travel range to the control unit. The transmission operation unit includes a stroke contact type operation switch on which travel ranges to be set are sequentially aligned along a predetermined path. The control unit includes a first CPU, connected to the first actuator, for controlling a driving operation of the first actuator, a second CPU, connected to the second actuator, for controlling a driving operation of the second actuator, and a third CPU, connected to the first and second CPUs, for setting, in a driving state, one of the first and second actuators connected to one of the first and second CPUs, which CPU serves as a main unit, for monitoring system failed states of the first and second CPUs, for, when the third CPU determines that a system failed state occurs, inhibiting the driving operation of the actuator connected to the system-failed CPU, and for permitting the driving operation of the actuator connected to the CPU which does not suffer from the system failed state.
