The present invention provides a chlorine-containing resin composition capable of providing a processed product that is excellent in thermal stability and heat resistance and that has various excellent properties derived from the chlorine-containing resin in an efficient, easy, simple, and high-yield manner, without degrading the appearance of the processed product. The present invention also provides a method for providing such a processed product. The present invention relates to a chlorine-containing resin composition containing a chlorine-containing resin, a hydrotalcite powder, and organic acid zinc, wherein the hydrotalcite powder contains magnesium (Mg) and/or zinc (Zn), and aluminum (Al), the molar ratio of the total amount of magnesium and zinc to the amount of aluminum ((Mg+Zn)/Al) is 2.20 or less, and the hydrotalcite powder has an oil absorption of 30 ml/100 g or less.

The present invention aims to provide a method for producing a chlorine-containing resin composition and a method for producing a chlorine-containing resin processed product, the methods being capable of providing a processed product that is excellent in thermal stability and heat resistance and that has various excellent properties derived from the chlorine-containing resin in an efficient, easy, simple, and high-yield manner, without degrading the appearance of the processed product. An optical disc drive according to the present invention can read data from any of multiple types of optical discs, of which the information storage layers are located at mutually different depths under their surface. When this drive is loaded with an optical disc, the servo controller of the drive changes a first type of drive signal to adjust a focus position by changing distances from the lens to the disc and/or a second type of drive signal to adjust tilt of the lens by changing the angles defined by the lens with respect to the disc a number of times, thereby changing settings to be determined by a combination of the focus position and the tilt. A signal quality rater measures multiple index values to rate the quality of a reflected light signal as the settings are changed. Then, the optical disc drive recognizes the type of the given optical disc based on those index values and reads data from the optical disc recognized.

An optical disk control device comprises a playback signal detection unit for detecting data recorded on a disk by irradiating the disk with a converged light beam; a signal switching unit for successively selecting plural data signals obtained by the playback signal detection unit, and performing time-division-multiplexing on the selected signals; an A/D conversion unit for converting an analog signal which has been time-division-multiplexed by the signal switching unit, into a digital signal; an A/D conversion command unit for generating an A/D conversion command of the A/D conversion unit; a serial transfer unit for serial-transferring the command signal generated by the A/D conversion command unit; a serial reception unit for receiving the signal from the serial transfer unit, and controlling the signal selection operation of the signal switching unit on the basis of the received signal; and an arithmetic unit for generating an optical disk drive controlling signal by performing arithmetic processing on the digital signal outputted from the A/D control unit. An offset measuring method is for measuring an offset based on an optical beam reflected by an information medium, in a recording and reproduction apparatus including an optical pickup placed on transportation means so as to be driven along a radial direction of the information medium. The method includes the steps of directing an optical beam toward a first measuring position, thereby measuring a first offset amount based on the optical beam reflected at the first measuring position; moving the transportation means by a first distance in a first direction along the radial direction; driving the optical pickup by a second distance, which is equal to the first distance, in a second direction; and directing an optical beam toward a second measuring position, thereby measuring a second offset amount based on the optical beam reflected at the second measuring position.

In a laser power controller, a part of laser beam emitted from a laser diode 1 is detected with a photodetector 2. The operational processor 3 controls a driver 5 so that the light-emitting power of the laser diode 1 has prescribed values, and the driver 5 drives the laser diode 1. The record powers are set beforehand in one or more gap sections existing between record areas, and the operational processor 3 stores the results of the operation in an external memory 4. On recording, the results stored in the external memory 4 are read by the operational processor 3 so as to set the record powers. Thus, the record powers can be set stably even for a fast recording rate.

Controller and control method of laser power for recording information

A digital servo system for use in an optical recording/reproducing apparatus equipped with an optical system for illuminating an optical recording medium with a light beam to record and reproduce an information signal on and from the optical recording medium, the servo system being for more accurately performing a tracking and focusing control of the light beam with respect to the optical recording medium. The servo system is provided with a plurality of photodetectors to obtain a servo error signal which is in turn supplied to an attenuator and then supplied to an analog-to-digital converter to be digitized so as to constitute a digital filter. The servo system is arranged so as to set the attenuation factor of the attenuator so that the input signal of the analog-to-digital converter is kept in a predetermined range. This permits the tracking and focusing control with a high precision and further allows an AGC amplifier having a high-speed automatic gain-controllable function to be arranged to be digitally controllable.
