A vehicle seat in which a swiveling motion of a sub-frame is restricted only to a desirable direction is provided. A sub-frame is suspended from a seatback frame. A first elastic member connects a right upper end of the sub-frame to the seat back frame, and a second elastic member a left upper end of the sub-frame to the seat back frame. A universal joint mechanism connects a lower lateral portion of the sub-frame to a lateral member of the seat back frame.

Vehicle seat

A vehicle seat of the present invention includes a seatback frame, a backrest section that supports a back of an occupant, a swivel-coupling section that couples the backrest section and that is capable of swiveling with respect to the seatback frame in a seat width direction, and an outer periphery support section that couples plural locations at an outer peripheral side of the backrest section to the seatback frame, that supports the backrest section with respect to the seatback frame, and that permits the backrest section to swivel.

A seat includes a pivotally movable bottom, a pivotally movable backrest independent from the bottom, a first supporter suspending and supporting a front side of the bottom, and a second supporter suspending a rear side of the bottom from a side behind the backrest section, and pivotally movably supporting the bottom together with the first supporter. According to the seat, the front side and the rear side of the bottom are suspended and supported. Thus, compared to a seat in which a front side of a bottom is supported in a cantilever manner, the seat is capable of ensuring bearing capacity for a seating load. The rear side of the bottom is suspended and supported from a side behind the backrest section. Accordingly, a support structure around the bottom including the front side of the bottom can be downsized.
