A motor controller for fully closing and opening a window glass for a vehicle door. The motor controller controls a motor that drives the window glass and includes a relay circuit connected to the motor and switching contact states in accordance with movement of the window glass. An FET is connected to the relay circuit. A sensor detects rotation speed of the motor and generates a detection signal. A CPU, which is connected to the FET and sensor, generates a duty signal having a duty ratio that is in accordance with a waveform of the detection signal generated by the sensor, provides the FET with the duty signal, and drives the motor in accordance with the waveform of the detection signal.

Motor controller and method for controlling motor

A power window device that suppresses heating in a motor used to lower and raise a window glass. For each door of a vehicle, the power window device includes an ECU that controls a motor in accordance with the operation of a switch to raise the window glass. A pulse sensor is arranged in the vicinity of the motor to detect the rotation speed of the motor and generate a detection signal. Based on the pulse signal of the pulse sensor, the ECU determines whether the window glass has reached a fully open or fully closed position. When it is determined that the motor has become locked or that the window glass has reached the fully open or fully closed position, the ECU deactivates the motor until predetermined activation conditions are satisfied.

Power window device

A detector, that prevents erroneous detection of a foreign object caught in a window glass when the engine of a vehicle is being operated and when the engine is stopped using a relatively simple control method. The detector includes a pulse sensor for detecting rotational speed of a motor. A microcomputer calculates a cycle difference sum based on the rotational speed of the motor. The microcomputer compares the cycle difference sum with a obstruction determination threshold to determine whether a foreign object has been caught. The microcomputer detects whether the engine is stopped. When detecting that the engine is stopped, the microcomputer changes the obstruction determination threshold so that the probability of the microcomputer determining that a foreign object has been caught is lower than that when the engine is being operated.

Window glass obstruction detector

A power window switch circuit, even if soaked, prevents windows from opening or closing unintentionally. A DOWN switch ( ) and an UP switch ( ) each include a first fixed contact (DN , UP ) connected with a power supply, a second fixed contact (DN , UP ) grounded, and movable contacts ( ) for selectively connects either the first or second fixed contact with the first terminal of corresponding relay coils ( ). A transistor (TR ) responsive to a soak signal is connected between the ground and the second fixed contacts (DN , UP ) of the UP and DOWN switches. The second terminals of the first and second relay coils are grounded through their respective transistors. When a soak is detected, a soak detector ( ) supplies a soak signal to the transistors.
