In a bearing preloading device in which a compression coil spring is used, a hole is defined in a bearing race or in a separate member axially opposed to the bearing race. The hole has an inner periphery constituted by a threaded portion connected to a bottom surface of the hole, and a shallow hole portion connected to an edge of the hole. An inner diameter of the shallow hole portion is larger than an inner diameter of the threaded portion.

Bearing preloading device

Retainer for tapered roller bearing

A roller bearing retainer is constituted by two or a greater number of circumferentially disposed segments. Each segment includes: a plurality of columns provided between mutually opposing long sides of a rectangle; and a plurality of pockets for holding rollers between the columns. At least one of the mutually opposing long sides of the segment includes an arc-shaped connecting member having a generally U-shaped section for slidable fitting in a circumferential direction. The segments are arranged in the circumferential direction, and under this state, the connecting members of each segment is slid over the long side of the adjacent segment, whereby the segments are mutually connected with each other.

Roller bearing cage

A rolling bearing is provided wherein one open end of a bearing space formed between an outer race and an inner race is covered with a sealing ring provided with oil flow holes provided with filters. The sealing ring includes engaging portions provided on the sealing ring in a protruding manner along a circumferential direction thereof, and engaged in recesses provided on the inner race. An annular member made of a material softer than that of the sealing ring is fixed to the sealing ring. The annular member includes a lip portion facing the outer race with a gap or kept in contact with the outer race. The sealing ring is formed by injection molding a resin, and weld lines generated during the injection molding are formed in portions of the sealing ring corresponding to radial directions along which the oil flow holes are not disposed.

Rolling bearing

An axle bearing device includes an inner ring fixed to an axle of a railway vehicle, an outer ring fixed to a journal box of the railway vehicle, and double row tapered rollers arranged between raceway surfaces of the inner ring and raceway surfaces of the outer ring. An opening portion between the inner ring and the outer ring is sealed by a labyrinth seal including at least one axial labyrinth extending in an axial direction and at least one radial labyrinth extending in a radial direction. At least one of the axial labyrinth and radial labyrinth which form the labyrinth seal is formed between an outer-ring-side sealing member mounted to the outer ring and the inner ring or between the outer-ring-side sealing member mounted to the outer ring and an inner-ring-side sealing member mounted to the inner ring.

Bearing device for axle of railway vehicle

A roller inscribed circle Rdiameter of tapered rollers fitted in pockets of a bearing retainer is such that a circle Rportion protruding radially outwardly of an inner race small flange radially outer surface when the rollers are at radially outermost positions in pockets with an outer race unmounted, and when the circle Ris offset from a raceway circle center of an inner race raceway end at the flange so as to point contact the raceway circle. The circle Rportion which does not radially outwardly protrude from the flange outer surface has a central angle &#x3e;180&#xb0; and &#x2266;240&#xb0;. Flange thickness is such that when the roller inscribed circle is offset from the raceway circle center to point contact the raceway circle, and swung about the contact point toward the flange, the flange does not interfere with the arcuate locus of the roller inscribed circle swing end.

Tapered roller bearing

An axle bearing device includes an inner ring fixed to an axle of a railway vehicle, an outer ring fixed to a journal box of the railway vehicle, and double row tapered rollers arranged between raceway surfaces of the inner ring and raceway surfaces of the outer ring. An opening portion between the inner ring and the outer ring is sealed by a labyrinth seal including at least one axial labyrinth extending in an axial direction and at least one radial labyrinth extending in a radial direction. At least one of the at least one axial labyrinth and the at least one radial labyrinth which form the labyrinth seal is formed between an outer-ring-side sealing member mounted to the outer ring and the inner ring or between the outer-ring-side sealing member mounted to the outer ring and an inner-ring-side sealing member mounted to the inner ring.

A tapered roller bearing comprises inner and outer and outer rings having raceways, a large flange surface and a small flange surface, tapered rollers between the raceways and each having large and small end faces at the ends, and a retainer for the tapered rollers. The average roughness of the large end faces and the large flange surface is 0.14 &mgr;m Ra or less. The radius of curvature of the large end faces is 75 to 85% of the roller reference radius, and the central angle of the contact positions between the tapered rollers and the large flange surface is to of the roller angle. The center of the contact surface between the tapered rollers and the raceways is offset toward the large end faces from the center of the rolling surfaces of the tapered rollers by 10% or less of the effective length of the tapered rollers.

The boundary between the rolling surface 3a and the larger end surface 3b of a roller 3 and the boundary between the rolling surface 3a and the smaller end surface 3c are formed with rounded portions Rb and Rc, respectively. The rolling surface 3a and the rounded portion Rb associated with the larger end surface 3b are smoothly continuous with each other through a first arc R1, while the larger end surface 3b and the rounded portion Rb are smoothly continuous with each other through a second arc R2.

Roller bearing

A rolling contact bearing assembly comprises an inner race member adapted to be mounted on a rotatable element and including a spacer disposed axially adjacent the inner race. This inner race member is formed with a lubricant reservoir for accommodating a lubricant and a lubricant flow passage communicating the reservoir with a space defined between the inner and outer race, in which space rolling elements are accommodated. At least a portion of said lubricant flow passage is defined by minute interstices which are formed by surface roughness left by surface roughening at an interface between mutual contact faces of a plurality of component parts forming the inner race member.
