There is provided liquid discharging head including common liquid chambers each extends along first direction and arranged in second direction orthogonal to the first direction; and individual channels each communicates with one of the common liquid chambers and each has nozzle. The liquid discharging head has first and second ends in the second direction. The common liquid chambers include intermediate common liquid chamber interposed between two of the common liquid chambers and expanded common liquid chamber closest to the first end, length of the expanded common chamber in the second direction being longer than length of the intermediate common chamber in the second direction. The nozzles of the individual channels communicating with the expanded common chamber are positioned on a side of the second end with respect to the expanded common chamber without being positioned on a side of the first end with respect to the expanded common chamber.

Liquid discharging head and printing apparatus

A liquid discharging head includes: manifolds to which liquid is supplied; at least one nozzle row associated with each of the manifolds; and a communicating channel directly connecting two manifolds which are included in the manifolds and which are adjacent to each other. The at least one nozzle row includes nozzles configured to discharge the liquid, the nozzles communicating with one manifold with which the at least one nozzle row is associated. A first number is a number of the nozzle row associated with one of the two manifolds and a second number is a number of the nozzle row associated with the other of the two manifolds, and a cross-sectional area of the communicating channel is different between a case that a first number and a second number are same, and another case that the first number and the second number are different.

Liquid discharging head

There is provided a liquid discharge head including: a plurality of nozzles arranged in a first direction; a plurality of pressure chambers; a plurality of throttles; and a common channel extending in the first direction and connected to the plurality of throttles. The common channel has: a supply port, and a terminal part which is at least one of both end parts in the first direction of the common channel, the supply port being not provided at the terminal part. A terminal throttle which is one of the plurality of throttles and which is positioned closest to the terminal part among the plurality of throttles has a channel resistance same as a channel resistance of a throttle of the plurality of throttles different from the terminal throttle, and extends from a connection between the terminal throttle and one of the plurality of pressure chambers to the terminal part.

Liquid discharge head

A liquid discharge head includes a channel unit. The channel unit is formed therein with: a plurality of individual channels aligning in a first direction, a common channel extending in the first direction, a supply hole in communication with the common channel, and a damper chamber provided in a position overlapping with the supply hole in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. The channel unit includes a first plate having a first surface where a recess is formed to constitute the damper chamber, and a second plate having a second surface attached to the first surface via an adhesive. A protrusion is provided on a bottom of such a first part of the recess as overlaps with the supply hole in the second direction.

Liquid discharge head and method for manufacturing liquid discharge head

A liquid discharging head includes: a supply hole to which liquid is supplied from outside thereof; a plurality of supply manifolds arranged below the supply hole, extending in an extending direction respectively, and configured to communicate with the supply hole; and at least one partition wall configured to partition the supply manifolds from each other. Each of the supply manifolds has a manifold hole below the supply hole, the supply manifolds communicate with each other in a common space below the at least one partition wall, and the manifold hole of one supply manifold is arranged so that another manifold hole of another supply manifold is not located on an extension line, of the manifold hole, along the extending direction.

There is provided a liquid discharge head including a channel member including: a nozzle surface in which a plurality of first nozzles and second nozzles are opened; first and second common channels; and a film member including a first surface and a second surface. The second surface includes a first recess overlapping with the first common channel in the third direction, and a second recess overlapping with the second common channel in the third direction. A length of the first recess in the second direction is different from a length of the second recess in the second direction.

A liquid ejection apparatus stores ejection pattern information and slight vibration pattern information indicating two-dimensional arrangements of ejection information and slight vibration information, respectively. A controller transmits an ejection signal when the ejection information at a first position in the ejection pattern information is first information and when the slight vibration information at a second position in the slight vibration pattern information is third information or fourth information. The controller transmits a slight vibration signal the ejection information at the first position is second information and when the slight vibration information at the second position is the third information. The controller transmits a non-vibration signal when the ejection information at the first position is the second information and when the slight vibration information at the second position is the fourth information.

Liquid ejection apparatus

A piezoelectric actuator includes one piezoelectric layer, a common electrode disposed on the lower surface of the piezoelectric layer and individual electrodes disposed on the upper surface of the piezoelectric layer. In the piezoelectric layer, a plurality of metal patterns arranged at regular intervals in the conveyance direction and in a direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction and overlapping with pressure chambers are provided substantially at the central part in the direction of the thickness. The metal patterns are not electrically continuous with each other and not electrically continuous with other parts. The metal patterns situated outermost in the conveyance direction are disposed so as to cross the edge of the pressure chamber. Some metal patterns overlap with the individual electrode and the other metal patterns do not overlap with the individual electrode.

Piezoelectric actuator and method of manufacturing piezoelectric actuator

There is provided a method of manufacturing liquid transporting apparatus including: providing a channel unit; providing a piezoelectric actuator having a first and second active portion corresponding to a central portion and an outer periphery portion of the pressure chamber, respectively. The first and second active portions are sandwiched between an upper electrode and an intermediate electrode, and between the upper electrode and a lower electrode, respectively. The method further includes joining the channel unit and the piezoelectric actuator by positioning such that the intermediate electrode overlaps the central portion of the pressure chamber. Accordingly, since it is possible to make the first active portion overlap the central portion of the pressure chamber, it is possible to apply a appropriate pressure to the liquid in the pressure chamber without excessively small deformation of the first active portion.

Method of manufacturing liquid transporting apparatus

A method for producing a liquid transport apparatus includes forming a recess, on a surface of a vibration plate on a side not facing the pressure chamber, in one of areas which are defined by dividing an area overlapping with a pressure chamber in a predetermined direction; forming a piezoelectric layer by depositing particles of a piezoelectric material on the surface of the vibration plate on which the recess is formed so that a thickness of a portion of the piezoelectric layer corresponding to the area formed with the recess is thinner than a thickness of a portion corresponding to an area not formed with the recess; and forming a first electrode, on a surface of the piezoelectric layer on a side not facing the vibration plate, in an area overlapping with the pressure chamber and corresponding to the area of the vibration plate not formed with the recess.

Method for producing a liquid transport apparatus

A droplet ejecting apparatus, including: a head having a cavity unit with pressure chambers and a piezoelectric actuator; and a voltage application device, the actuator including: first and second active portions; a first potential electrode; a second potential electrode including a second trunk portion; and individual electrodes each having a connection portion, wherein the connection portion is disposed to overlap the second trunk portion as seen in a superposition direction of the cavity unit and the actuator, wherein the individual electrodes are arranged in rows to correspond to rows of the pressure chambers, and all connecting portions belonging to any one row are disposed on the same side in a direction of arrangement of the rows, and wherein the connecting portions of the individual electrodes that belong to one and the other of any adjacent two rows are disposed on mutually opposite sides with respect to the corresponding pressure chambers.

Droplet ejecting apparatus

A piezoelectric actuator includes piezoelectric material layers, individual electrodes corresponding to pressure chambers, a first common constant electric potential electrode corresponding to outer peripheral portions of the pressure chambers, and a second common constant electric potential electrode corresponding to central portions of the individual electrodes. A plurality of first active portions is formed in areas of the piezoelectric material layers sandwiched between the individual electrodes and the second common constant electric potential electrode, and a plurality of second active portions is formed in areas of the piezoelectric material layers sandwiched between the individual electrodes and the first common constant electric potential electrode. Since the second common constant electric potential electrode has a mesh-shaped form, it is possible to reduce an impedance thereof.

Liquid droplet jetting apparatus and liquid droplet jetting head

A recess is formed on an upper surface of a vibration plate at a position corresponding to a pressure chamber. Next, a low-elasticity material having a lower modulus of elasticity than the vibration plate is filled in the recess. Then, aerosol including a piezoelectric material particles and carrier gas is sprayed on the upper surface of the vibration plate to form a piezoelectric layer. At this time, the particles of the piezoelectric material do not adhere to a surface of the low-elasticity material filled in the recess, and hence the piezoelectric layer can be formed only in an area excluding the surface of the low-elasticity material. Thus, there is provided a method of manufacturing a piezoelectric actuator, the method capable of easily preventing, when forming the piezoelectric layer by an aerosol deposition method, formation of the piezoelectric layer on a surface of the recess.

Method of manufacturing piezoelectric actuator and method of manufacturing liquid transporting apparatus

A piezoelectric actuator includes first active portions corresponding to center portions in a row direction of pressure chambers and second active portions corresponding to left and right portions on outer peripheral sides which are more outside than the center portions of the pressure chambers. When applying voltage to the first active portions, the first active portions deform to project toward pressure chambers. At this time, the second active portions do not deform and the influence of deformation of the first active portions does not reach the adjacent pressure chambers. Accordingly, effect of suppressing crosstalk is exhibited.

A liquid transporting apparatus includes a piezoelectric actuator which applies a pressure to liquid in a pressure chamber and which has a vibration plate covering the pressure chamber; a piezoelectric layer formed on a surface, of the vibration plate, not facing the pressure chamber; an electrode formed on a surface of the piezoelectric layer not facing the vibration plate at a portion facing the pressure chamber; a contact point formed on the surface of the piezoelectric layer not facing the vibration plate; and a connecting portion formed on the surface of the piezoelectric layer not facing the vibration plate and connecting the electrode and the contact point; and the connecting portion extends from the contact point and is connected to a portion, of the electrode, which is different from a nearest portion nearest to the contact point.
