Provided is a horizontal rotary hook including: an inner rotary hook including an attracted member made of metal in an outer lower surface portion; a permanent magnet that attracts the inner rotary hook; a magnet plate accommodating the permanent magnet and provided with a mounting hole at a center of a diameter thereof; a non-metallic outer rotary hook accommodating the magnet plate and having a shaft hole at a center of a diameter of an inner bottom portion thereof; and a hook supporting shaft that is inserted through the hole of the magnet plate and the shaft hole of the outer rotary hook and includes, at an upper end thereof, a flange for rotatably supporting the outer rotary hook and the magnet plate. A friction coefficient of a contact surface of the magnet plate that comes into contact with the outer rotary hook is set to be larger than a friction coefficient of the flange of the hook supporting shaft.

In a sewing machine equipped with a needle threading device, a thread holding tool includes: a thread holding surface part that guides and holds a thread; a thread pressing member that presses and sandwiches together with the thread holding surface part the thread; and a thread detachment preventing part that is provided to cross the thread which is sandwiched between the thread pressing member and the thread holding surface part. When passing the thread through the needle hole, a thread detachment preventing part regulates the thread so that the thread, which is sandwiched between the thread holding surface part and the thread pressing member of the thread holding tool, passes in a predetermined direction without deviating from a thread holding state.

An outer shuttle of a sewing machine, which accommodates an inner shuttle that grabs an upper thread and accommodates a bobbin around which a lower thread is wound, includes: a gear shaft which has a driven gear connected to a driving gear, provided on a lower shaft, which is a driving source of the outer shuttle that is rotatably supported in the sewing machine, and which also has a shaft support hole formed aligned with an axial center of the driven gear; a shuttle body to which the gear shaft is press-fitted and fixed at the center of rotation of a press-fit receiving hole formed in a bottom portion thereof; and a shuttle supporting shaft which is inserted into the shaft support hole of the gear shaft of the shuttle body to support the rotation of the shuttle body.

A sewing machine equipped with a needle threading device, includes: a needle bar supporting frame body on which there is mounted a needle bar that is mounted with a needle having a needle hole; a needle threading shaft that is disposed on the needle bar supporting frame body and is supported vertically movably and also turnably in a peripheral direction; a thread pressing part and a thread holding tool that are provided at a lower end of the needle threading shaft and that hold in a tensioned state a thread opposite the needle hole; and a needle threading tool that is provided at a lower end of the needle threading shaft and that has a hook which reciprocates through the needle hole to pass the thread through the needle hole, wherein the thread holding tool comprises a thread holding surface part that guides and holds the thread.

A presser foot for a sewing machine, is attached to a lower end of a presser bar to press a fabric during sewing, the presser bar being supported by the sewing machine so as to be slidable in an up-down direction. An attachment shaft member is provided in the presser bar so as to be slidable, the attachment shaft member attaching the presser foot so as to be detachable from the presser bar, and an attachment portion is provided in the presser foot so as to be fixed to the lower end of the presser bar by the attachment shaft member. The attachment shaft member includes a holding shaft portion that holds the attachment portion in the presser bar, and two positioning shaft portions having different shaft diameters smaller than that of the holding shaft portion.

A thread holding mechanism of a sewing machine which holds a thread supplied from a thread supply source includes a thread gripper unit that grips one end of a supplied thread, and a thread presser unit structured in a unified manner with the thread gripper unit and provided between the thread gripper unit and the thread supply source. Provided at the thread-supply-source side is a thread guide that guides another end of the thread, and when the thread gripper unit descends below the thread guide, the thread presser unit abuts the thread.

Provided is a horizontal rotary hook for a sewing machine including: an inner rotary hook including an attracted member made of metal in an outer lower surface portion; a permanent magnet that attracts the inner rotary hook; a magnet plate that accommodates the permanent magnet and is provided with a shaft hole for mounting at a center of a diameter thereof; a non-metallic outer rotary hook that accommodates the magnet plate and has a shaft hole at a center of a diameter of an inner bottom portion thereof; and a hook supporting shaft that is inserted through the shaft hole of the magnet plate and the shaft hole of the outer rotary hook, and that includes, at an upper end thereof, a flange for rotatably supporting the outer rotary hook and the magnet plate. A rotation stopper for the magnet plate is disposed to be positioned more inward than an outer circumference edge of the permanent magnet placed in the magnet plate.

A needle threader includes a needle bar supporter to which a needle bar holding a needle with a needle hole is attached, a threader shaft supported in a movable manner in a vertical direction and in a rotatable manner, a thread holding mechanism and a threader mechanism which is held by the threader shaft and which comprises a threader hook. The threader hook includes a capturing portion that captures the thread at a tip part of the capturing portion. The capturing portion includes a thread pathway and a thread capturing space. A width of a part where the thread pathway becomes the narrowest is formed so as to be narrower than a width of the thread capturing space. The thread enters or leaves the thread pathway in a tensioned condition, and the width of the part where the thread pathway becomes the narrowest is formed.

An amplitude adjusting device in connection with a sewing machine having an amplitude generating mechanism including a pattern cam and a cam follower which has a central swinging axis around cam follower which is swingable in accordance with the configuration of the pattern cam, wherein the amplitude adjusting device comprises an adjusting lever having a central axis around which the adjusting lever is swingable, the adjusting lever having one end operatively connected to one end of a transmission rod which has the opposite end connected to a swingable needle bar holder. The adjusting lever has the opposite end operatively connected to an operating knob and is normally urged in one direction so that said one end of the transmission rod is normally urged to a position substantially corresponding to the swinging axis of the cam follower. The operating knob is rotated in one direction to swing the adjusting lever in the opposite direction against the urging action applied to the adjusting lever, thereby to move said one end of the transmission rod in the direction away from the position substantially corresponding to the swinging axis of the cam follower. The operating knob is axially pressed and rotated to activate a positioning member to hold the adjusting lever at an optional angular position thereof and accordingly hold said one end of the transmission rod at an optional position away from the swinging axis of the cam follower.

Stitch amplitude adjusting device for sewing machine

A multifunction switching control system includes: a sewing speed controller of a computerized sewing machine controlled in response to a voltage of a sliding terminal of a variable resistor incorporated in the controller; an invariable resistor; a first A/D converter for converting the voltage from an analog signal to a first digital signal; and a second A/D converter for converting a voltage at a fixed terminal of the variable resistor from an analog signal to a second digital signal. A switch circuit for directly connecting one terminal of the invariable resistor to the fixed terminal of the variable resistor is provided in the controller. By comparing the second digital signal with a preset value, it is determined whether or not the switch circuit is so operated. In case that the switch circuit is so operated, sewing operation other than sewing speed controls of the machine are conducted.

An apparatus of a sewing machine for indicating elongated pattern length is disclosed, wherein memory means normally stores a number of pattern data for forming the stitches of different patterns with a standard stitch amplitude and a standard fabric feed pitch, pattern selection means is selectively operated to select a desired pattern from the pattern data storing memory, amplitude setting means is optionally operated to set the amplitude value of the selected pattern, indication means indicates an amplitude value of the selected pattern set by the amplitude setting means, pattern elongation setting means is optionally operated to set a pattern elongating magnification value, discrimination means judges whether the selected pattern is elongatable or not, and means is provided for displaying the pattern elongating magnification value in the indicating means.
