An air purifier includes a housing, a centrifugal fan and an air purifying filter. The fan is substantially centered in the housing. The fan has a rotary shaft extending in a depth direction of the air purifier and a fan inlet port facing frontward. Air suctioned by the fan is blown out in a direction perpendicular to the rotary shaft. The filter is aligned with the fan along the direction perpendicular to the rotary shaft. An air inlet port is disposed in front of the fan so as to communicate with the fan inlet port. When the fan rotates, air is suctioned into the air purifier via the air inlet port. An air outlet port is arranged relative to the filter such that air purified by the filter is blown out of the air purifier through the air outlet port.

Air purifier

An air cleaner having a first photocatalyst carrying member ( ) carrying a photocatalyst for cleaning air upon being irradiated with light, a lamp ( ) for illuminating the first photocatalyst carrying member ( ), and a receiving member ( ) receiving a portion between the ends of the lamp ( ) through the first photocatalyst carrying member ( ). The first photocatalyst carrying member ( ) is contained in a containing section ( ) of a main body casing ( ), for example, and is interposed between the lamp ( ) and an innermost portion ( ) of the containing section ( ). The receiving member ( ) may be a projection ( ), for example, provided in a standing posture in the innermost portion ( ) of the containing section ( ).

Air cleaner

When an ionization section is taken out of a main body housing of a conventional air cleaner in order to wash the ionization section, an ionization line may be cut by being accidentally touched. In order to avoid this problem, a pre-filter ( ) is mounted on a front surface of an ionization and dust collection unit ( ) so as to be detachable. The pre-filter ( ) is slidably guided by guide furrings ( ) in a sub-frame ( ), and is mounted on a front surface of the sub-frame ( ). When the pre-filter ( ) is mounted, ionization lines ( ) are not exposed, so that the pre-filter ( ) protects the ionization lines ( ). When the ionization and dust collection unit ( ) is detached from the main body housing, therefore, there is no problem that the ionization lines ( ) might be cut by being accidentally touched with worker's hands, for example.
