A printer system connects a plurality of printers and a terminal via a network. First, the system inputs data for a new print from the terminal. Next, based on the inputted data, the system uses a learned model that has learned to select one printer among the plurality of printers based on data that was used in previous printing by the plurality of printers, to infer a printer suited to the new print from the plurality of printers. As a result of the inference, the system conveys the obtained printer to the terminal.

Replacement of a recording head on a recording apparatus is detected on the basis of a serial number allocated to each recording head. The recording head also carries head characteristic information such as color information, shading information and so forth. When the recording head is replaced with a new one, the head characteristic information of the newly mounted recording head is automatically stored, so that head driving conditions are automatically determined to optimize the recording conditions without requiring any manual adjustment. Recovery operation is automatically executed when replacement of the recording head is detected, so that required recording conditions are recovered without manual instructions.

A recording apparatus using full-line type ink jet recording heads needs a large amount of electrical power for ink ejection due to a large number of nozzles of the recording heads. Therefore, a power supply capacity of the recording apparatus needs to be increased, resulting in increase in an overall apparatus cost. When simultaneously recording on plural recording media using a recording apparatus having recording heads with different electrical power consumptions arranged in a transfer direction of the recording media, recording is performed so that the recording heads to be simultaneously driven are combined so as to be a combination of the recording heads with different electrical power consumptions.

The driving signals include a first driving signal for increasing a temperature of the ink adjacent the heater without creating the bubble, and a second driving signal after the first drive signal for ejecting the ink. An interval is provided between the first and second drive signals. The changing device changes a width of the first drive signal to adjust an amount of ejected ink. The interval is not shorter than 2.6 microseconds and the second drive signal has a constant width.

A recording method ejects ink by thermal energy produced by a heat generating element of a recording head in response to a drive signal. The method includes the step of controlling an amount of ejection of the ink by a temperature control for the recording head including at least heating of the recording head, when a temperature of the recording head is not higher than a predetermined first temperature.
