Provided is a resin composition containing polymethallyl alcohol (A) having a repeating structural unit represented by the following formula (1) in an amount of greater than or equal to 30 mol %, and a component (B) that is at least one of an acid component having a pKa of 3.5 to 7.5 and an anion of the acid component, the pKa being a logarithmic value of a reciprocal of an acid dissociation constant at 25° C., a content of the component (B) being greater than or equal to 0.01 μmol per 1 g of the polymethallyl alcohol (A); a method of producing the resin composition; and a molding containing the resin composition.

A film with a gas barrier resin having a glass transition temperature of 70&#xb0; C. or below and an elastomer, and having an oxygen permeability coefficient of 200 mL/(m&#xb7;day&#xb7;atm) or less. In a case where tension is applied to stretch the film in a machine direction (MD) at 20&#xb0; C. such that a twofold increase in length of the film is kept for 30 seconds, and then the tension is released, a ratio L/Lis 1.5 or less, where Ldenotes the length of the film prior to application of the tension and Ldenotes the length of the film subsequent to release of the tension. An elongation ratio at break E/Eof the film is preferably 0.9 or more and 1.7 or less, there Edenotes the elongation at break in MD and Edenotes the elongation at break in the transverse direction (TD).

Provided is a resin composition that achieves superior appearance characteristics such as a color of a film end (or a roll end) after melt molding, film-breaking resistance, blocking resistance, vapor deposition defects-inhibiting properties, and adhesive strength of a vapor deposition layer. The resin composition contains: an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer; inorganic particles; and an aliphatic carbonyl compound having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, in which the content of the inorganic particles is 50 ppm or greater and 5,000 ppm or less, the aliphatic carbonyl compound is at least one selected from the group consisting of a saturated aldehyde, an unsaturated aldehyde and a saturated ketone, and the content of the aliphatic carbonyl compound is 0.01 ppm or greater and 100 ppm or less. The inorganic particles preferably contain a metal element which is at least one selected from the group consisting of silicon, aluminum, magnesium, zirconium, cerium, tungsten and molybdenum.

Ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin composition and method for producing same

An object of the present invention is to provide an EVOH-containing resin composition which has superior appearance characteristics and long-run workability in melt molding and enables occurrence of yellowing etc., in melt molding to be inhibited particularly, even in melt molding at high temperatures of, for example, no less than 260&#xb0; C. The present invention provides a resin composition containing (A) an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, (B) a carboxylic acid and/or a carboxylate ion, and (C) a metal ion, wherein the component (B) includes (B2) a multivalent carboxylic acid and/or a multivalent carboxylate ion, and the molar ratio (B2/C) of the multivalent carboxylic acid and the multivalent carboxylate ion (B2) to the metal ion (C) is 0.002 or greater and 2 or less.
