An electronic apparatus includes key operation means, control means, detection means, storage means and memory means. The detection means detects motion of the electronic apparatus. The storage means stores motion identification data obtained from detection data on a motion after a predetermined key operation in the key operation means after predetermined guidance information is outputted or data obtained by computing the detection data, in the memory means. The control means executes the specific process according to the comparison results between detection data obtained by detecting a motion of the electronic apparatus after the motion identification data is stored or data obtained by computing the detection data, and the motion identification data.

A mobile communication terminal includes detection means that detects at least one of the position, orientation, attitude, and motion of a mobile communication terminal. Application program execution means can concurrently perform two direction changing processes different from each other according to two direction parameters by executing an application program, and determines at least one of the two direction parameters based on detection data detected by the detection means. The two direction changing processes are, for example, a visual point moving direction changing process for changing a moving direction of a visual point for viewing an image on a display means and a visual line direction changing process for changing a visual line direction. One of the direction parameters may be determined based on a key operation signal from key operation means.

When an acquisition and reporting control unit of a measurement data processing unit in a development support device sends a sensor measurement start request to a portable information device in response to a collection operation start command from an application under development, an acquisition and reporting control unit of a measurement data processing unit in the portable information device starts measurement operations by a sensor. The measured raw data is continuously sent to the development support device. Data which match the collection condition are collected by a data collection unit. In response to a data request from the program under development, a data reporting unit reports the measurement data which satisfy a reporting condition to the application under development. As a result, when developing an application program which uses the results of measurement by the sensor, it is possible to provide a satisfactory development environment.

Program development system

An electronic apparatus includes program memory means, application program execution means, and attitude detection means. The program memory means stores a plurality of application programs. The application program execution means executes an application program read out from the program memory means. The attitude detection means detects the attitude of the electronic apparatus. The application program execution means performs an application switching process to execute a second application program when detection data obtained by attitude detection performed by the attitude detection means during execution of a first application program or data obtained by computing the detection data changes across a predetermined threshold.

Application switching within electronic apparatus

In a measured-value converting process, a shape-condition converting process and an absolute coordinate system converting process (S) are performed on a value measured by a sensor. In the shape-condition converting process, when a mobile terminal has a shapeand shape, the converting process is not performed (Sand S). When the mobile terminal has a shape, a converting process of rotating through 180&#xb0; around Yaxis is performed (S). Moreover, when the mobile terminal has a shape, a converting process of rotating through 180&#xb0; around Zaxis (S) is performed. Therefore, even in an information processing apparatus of which a shape changes, a sensor which detects a movement of the information processing apparatus can be used as an input device, irrespective of the shape.

A motion sensor which can easily and accurately detect bearing, attitude and acceleration in any of three-dimensional directions and a portable telephone using the same. The motion sensor comprises three magnetic sensing parts for detecting magnetic field strength in 3-axis directions orthogonal to one another, and three acceleration sensing parts for detecting accelerations in the 3-axis directions. Each of the acceleration sensing parts has a magnet body constituted to be able to displace depending on acceleration, and a magnet displacement detection head for detecting a displacement of the magnet body. The three magnetic sensing parts and the three magnet displacement detection heads are all made of the same type of magnetic detection elements which operate based on common operation principles. The three magnetic sensing parts and the three acceleration sensing parts are integrated into one modular package together with one electronic circuit for controlling these six magnetic detection elements.

When, from a standby screen of a terminal device, a user depresses a motion key (S) and performs a registered movement (S), a sensor unit observes the movement of the terminal device, and a movement parameter calculation unit calculates a movement parameter. A movement parameter change decision unit decides (Sand S) whether or not a change of the movement parameter which is calculated, and a change of the movement parameter corresponding to a predetermined function registered in advance, agrees with one another. If the result of this decision is affirmative, a function control unit starts the corresponding function (S). As a result, it is possible to set the terminal device to a state in which the predetermined function can be employed, with a simple and easily remembered actuation.

A data collection unit () collects measurement data which satisfies a data collection condition designated by an application () and stores the measurement data in a temporary storage area (). The data report unit () reports, to the application (), measurement data which is stored in the temporary storage area () and satisfies a data report condition designated by the application (). As a result, the load on the applicationusing a measurement result by a sensor in measurement data acquisition is reduced.

Measurement data collection method and portable information device

An attitude detection sensor includes three magnetic sensing parts that detect magnetic field strength in respective directions along three axes perpendicular to each other, and two tilt sensing parts that detect tilt angles around two axes perpendicular to each other. The tilt sensing parts each include a cantilever having a magnet body that moves in accordance with the tilt angle, and a magnetic detection head that detects a displacement of the magnet body. The three magnetic sensing parts and the two magnetic detection heads are each formed using a magnetic detection element of the same type. At least one electronic circuit for controlling the five magnetic detection elements, the three magnetic sensing parts, and the two tilt sensing parts is disposed in a single package in the form of a module.

Small-sized attitude detection sensor and portable telephone using the small-sized attitude detection sensor

A measured physical quantity calculating partcalculates a measurement result-corrected value obtained by correcting a measurement result of a sensor unitby the use of corrected values for the sensor unit. Subsequently, a measurement environment estimating partestimates a terrestrial magnetism measurement environment on the basis of at least one measurement result-corrected value. The estimation result is displayed on a display unitby an estimation result display part. In this way, the terrestrial magnetism measurement environment is first estimated and then the terrestrial magnetism is measured by the use of the sensor unit. That is, it is possible to measure the terrestrial magnetism by the use of a magnetic sensor mounted on a mobile information device after estimating the terrestrial magnetism measurement environment.
