Electromagnetic-wave shielding and light transmitting plate and manufacturing method thereof

A touch panel having excellent durability, in which depression is scarcely generated on the surface of the touch panel by pushing the surface with a pen, and a transparent conductive film and plate useful in the touch panel are provided. The transparent conductive film comprises a first polymer film having a transparent conductive thin layer thereon and a second polymer film having a hardcoat layer thereon, the first and second polymer films being bonded each other through an adhesive layer such that a surface having no transparent conductive thin layer of the first polymer film faces a surface having no hardcoat layer of the second polymer film, wherein work of the adhesive layer in elastic deformation is not less than 60%. The transparent conductive plate is provided with the adhesive layer, the touch panel is provided with the transparent conductive film or plate as an upper or lower electrode.

The reactive compound is at least one selected from a group consisting of acryloxy group-bearing compounds, methacryloxy group-bearing compounds and epoxy group-bearing compounds. The reaction accelerating compound is a compound which has a radically reactive group and alkali-reactive group as its end groups.

Backside covering material for a solar cell module and its use

A display panel such as a plasma display panel is provided in which an electromagnetic-wave shielding material is integrated whereby electromagnetic-wave shielding efficiency is imparted to a display panel itself. A transparent film having a conductive pattern is bonded to a front surface of a plasma display panel by transparent adhesives A. The conductive pattern is in a mesh form having a line width of 50 &mgr;m or less and an open area ratio of 75% or more and is formed by vapor plating or liquid phase plating. To form a conductive pattern, dots are printed on a transparent film by using material which is soluble in solvent such as water. Then, a conductive material layer is formed so as to cover over all the dots and exposed portions of the transparent film . The film is cleaned by the solvent such as water. By the cleaning process, the soluble dots are dissolved and the conductive material on the dots are also removed from the film . Accordingly, conductive material formed on the exposed portions are left uncovered by the dots so as to form a conductive pattern . In this manner, the conductive pattern plated on areas of the film other than the dots is formed.

A heat- and/or photo-curing adhesive composition to be used in production of a display unit integral with a touch panel by bonding the touch panel to the display unit, the adhesive composition comprising as a main component of one or more than one kind of copolymer selected from (1) ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer; (2) copolymer of ethylene, vinyl acetate, and acrylate and/or methacrylate monomer; (3) copolymer of ethylene, vinyl acetate, and maleic acid and/or maleic anhydride; and (4) copolymer of ethylene, acrylate and/or methacrylate monomer, and maleic acid and/or maleic anhydride.

A light transmission tube includes a tubular clad and a core section having a higher refractive index than that of the tubular clad. A belt-like reflecting layer is formed between the tubular clad and the core section, extending in the longitudinal direction of the tubular clad, in a manner such that a light passing through the core section is reflected and scatterred by the reflecting layer and then emitted from an outer surface area of the tubular clad, which outer surface area is located opposite to one side of the tubular clad where the reflecting layer has been formed. Further, the reflecting layer may be so formed that a light is allowed to be emitted in a plurality of directions. Moreover, the belt-like reflecting layer may be formed into a spiral configuration. The width of the belt-like reflecting layer may be changed in the longitudinal direction of the light transmission tube. The tubular clad is allowed to have a non-circular cross section. The clad formation material may contain an ultraviolet light shielding material or an ultraviolet light absorbing material.

An electromagnetie-wave shielding and light transmitting plate suitable for an electromagnetic-wave shielding filter for a PDP, which has good electromagnetic-wave sheilding efficiency and light transparency, can provide distinct pictures, and can yet be easily made, is provided. The electromagnetic-wave shielding and light transmitting plate is formed of two transparent base plates and an adhesive layer made of EVA in which conductive particles are dispersed and mixed. The base plates are integrally bonded together by the adhesive layer. Adjusting the particle size and the dispersed amount of the conductive particles enables the manufacture of plates having desired electromagnetic-wave shielding efficiency, in addition, good light transparency, without moire phenomenon. Using an adhesive sheet formed by mixing the conductive particles into the EVA facilitates the manufacture of the aforementioned plate.

In this way, electromagnetic-wave shielding efficiency is imparted to a display panel itself, thereby lightening its weight, making its wall thinner, reducing the number of parts, and thus improving the productivity and reducing the cost.

Disclosed is an anisotropic conductive film which exhibits a conductivity in the thickness direction thereof by pressurizing the film in the thickness direction, the film including: an adhesive; and conductive particles dispersed in the adhesive; wherein the adhesive is a thermosetting or photosetting adhesive containing as a main component at least one kind selected from a group consisting of (a) a polymer obtained by acetalation of a polyvinyl alcohol, (b) a compound containing an allyl group, (c) a monomer containing an acryloxy group or methacryloxy group, and (d) a polymer obtained by polymerization of one or more selected from a group consisting of an acrylic monomer and a methacrylic monomer.
