An image forming apparatus includes a discharge rollers pair, a sheet pressing member and a discharge tray. The sheet pressing member includes a first rotational shaft, a detection piece and a corrugation piece. The corrugation piece protrudes in a radial direction different from a protruding direction of the detection piece from the first rotational shaft. When the detection piece is turned at a first angle into a first posture, the corrugation piece is changed into a contact posture where the corrugation piece comes into contact with the sheet to apply stiffness on the sheet. When the detection piece is turned at a second angle into a second posture, the corrugation piece is changed into a retracting posture where the corrugation piece separates from the sheet.

Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section, a casing, an operation panel, a locking mechanism, and a cutoff section. The image forming section forms an image on paper. The casing houses the image forming section. The operation panel is movable toward at least one side of the casing. The locking mechanism restricts movement of the operation panel. The cutoff section cuts off supply of electricity to the image forming section. The cutoff section cuts off the supply of electricity to the image forming section while the locking mechanism restricts the movement of the operation panel.

A manual paper-sheet feed portion of an image forming apparatus includes a manual tray, a feed opening, a feed roller, and a shutter. The manual tray is shifted to an opened state, whereby placement of a recording medium becomes possible. The feed opening accepts feeding of the recording medium to a conveyance path. The feed roller feeds the recording medium to the conveyance path. When the feeding of the recording medium to the conveyance path is started, the shutter swings in one direction to open the feed opening, and when a rear end of the recording medium passes through the feed opening, the shutter swings in the other direction to return to a position where to shield the feed opening.

A conveyor has a first conveying unit including a pair of first nip roll sets configured to nip and convey the sheet, and a second conveying unit including a second nip roll set configured to nip and convey the sheet from the first conveying unit. The second nip roll set nips the sheet at an inner location than the first nip roll set, and the first nip roll set nips the sheet more strongly than the second nip roll set.
